Very unassuming place located near the Don Juico/Side Gate, next to the Horizon tower. There's a few parking spaces out front and a few spaces across the street. The inside has simple clean decor, and the background music ranges from Tagalog love songs to Karen Carpenter, and even Tupac.
Staff speak English well, there's a strong aircon, and a password protected free WiFi that's fast and pretty strong.
There's a small refrigerated case for desserts, and another for their deli meats and cheeses. The kitchen is as big as the dining area and separated by a wall with 2 large tinted windows; you can observe the staff cooking. Food comes out in a reasonable time period.
ORDERED FOR BREAKFAST:
- 2 eggs - hubby's sunny side eggs weren't quite set, that's why I always order mine over easy.
- Sausage looked like it was made in house, decent taste
- Longganisa was ok
- Hashbrowns were oily and soggy in the middle. I asked for them to be crispy but only the edges were slightly crispy.
- Toast was sliced thick and came with butter and jam.
Saw another table order sandwiches which looked really good! Met the lovely co-owner who encouraged us to come back for their sandwiches; she told us that they smoke their own meats and bake their own bread.
FYI - they sell day old cookies for 50% off
UPDATE:
Don't go one hour before closing, they run out of certain items and the staff are tired and a little cranky. Went back for dinner (hubby's treat) and we ordered:
- Iced coffee sweetened and with cream. It was made with True Ridge coffee from Laguna. It tasted better after I asked for more of their liquid syrup.
- Chili - I can't believe that we found good ole fashioned American chili con carne in the Philippines! You can find it listed under "sides". It's meaty, chunky and comes in a small bowl with onions and shredded cheese on top YUMMY!
- Smoked Turkey (smoked in house) with everything (comes with Swiss cheese) on wheat bread with French fries (skin on), requested them crispy but they were not very crispy at all. The tasty sandwich was filling with fresh veggies and had a soft bun.
Would definitely come back for their sandwiches and Chili con carne. I'm excited to try more things from their menu.
TIPs - They have 4 kinds of mustard that you can request to be added to your sandwich: plain, spicy, Dijon, and horseradish. Make friends with the staff!! If there are any flies bothering you, let the staff know and they'll zap them with their electric tennis racket lookin thingy. read more
