The shop is packed floor-to-ceiling with an incredible variety of crystals, raw minerals, stunning turquoise, jewelry, and beads. A huge bonus is that she supports local New Mexico miners by buying their rocks and gems--both cleaned and uncleaned. The prices are incredibly fair; I bought about $120 worth of gorgeous pieces, and the owner gave me a generous discount that I couldn't refuse. She is also an honest buyer of gold and silver, using tried-and-true methods like acid testing to verify authenticity. What makes this shop truly special is the owner. She is currently recovering from a recent accident that caused some ongoing headaches, yet her knowledge of the inventory is fantastic. I picked a few stones at random, and she was able to identify them all without hesitation. She took the time to ask about our travels from DFW and made us feel so welcome. You can feel the love she pours into the store, which was originally her husband's dream to build a family and community in T-or-C. She is keeping that beautiful legacy alive. She doesn't take online orders (though she'd do great if she did!), so you have to visit in person.
