I started working with Jason about two-years ago, and after 4 BIG projects, have been nothing but amazed any every facet of the service. I started with him due to a neighbor's good verbal review, did my due-diligence regarding getting two-other quotes from licensed and bonded tree services, and Jason Blake came out in the middle of the pack regarding price and timeline. This, along with a trustworthy source that continues to use his services when needed, convinced me initially to go with him on a 100-foout Italian Cypress and a Walnut that was impeding my plans for landscaping and making it more dangerous for my dwelling. Still, being ever cautious, I laid out this 4th plan described below to another bonded and licensed tree service provider, and he said almost the same thing as Jason did in regards to how these trees needed to come down, and was $50 more per tree. Today, Jason took out six 50+ foot Italian Cypress that here in-between my home and another, with about 3-feet of error to my neighbor's side, and 5-feet on mine. All six are felled, packed up and hauled off without so much as a limb, cone, or a bit of sawdust left behind. I watched this guy put the Pythagorean theorem to work during his survey of the job in order to bid it, with two straight stems off one of the trees involved and break them even (convenient, but two popsicle sticks) then hold them in such a way that he could predict within a foot where top the first tree would fall into the street. I paced it off and used my phone inclinometer app (that I use for figuring out slopes of ski terrain calculating how much danger due to avalanche I might be in while back-country skiing, highest threat being 38 to 39 degrees with a convex outrun) after he left and did the math (thank you college trigonometry!), and found him to be within inches of my calculation. So, I don't often write so much, but this was the fourth time I've used Blake's Tree Services... with all stellar outcomes. It probably isn't immediately obvious, but he did this work on a weekend, which is helpful in-itself due to my busy week-day schedule! If you can get his services (he's in demand due to the recent Valley Fire up on Cobb Mtn, and just a great reputation), do so with all my recommendations. read more
