My son-in-law's mother passed unexpectedly and her service was held here. From the moment we parked the car, we were greeted by a wonderful gentleman who guided us inside and then we were greeted by several employees who were so kind and helpful. The home was packed with folks who came from far distances to pay their respects and everyone was accommodated with seating. The service was so thoughtful from piping in the music that she loved (Bob Dylan), placing all her books around for people to take, and listening to the minister speak about her in a very informative and kind way. We prayed and listened to friends and family share their memories and relationship with Tina, and cried and laughed at their shared experiences. Even though this was a very emotional day, I was very impressed and happy with how this service was and I know my son-in-law felt the same. read more

Just overall disappointed with the funeral we had at this venue. We were told several different things that ended up not being true. For example: we were told that it would be a full open casket - it was not. We were told if the lines got busy and we had people holding us up that we could waive our funeral Director down to help move the lines along. That ended up not happening after I was calling and asking for the funeral Director several times. I had received several text messages from people who stood in line for over an hour and had to leave. On top of that, we use their limo services for traveling from the funeral home to the church and cemetery. The limo reeked of cigarette smoke, which made it hard for my asthma. read more

WARNING! No longer operated by Mr. Doyle, the lector at St. John's Church, whom we all loved. Bought by nationally disrespected chain, Dignity Memorial, the subject of numerous nationally televised stories including CBS News for price-gouging, failures to disclose, and deceptive practices. The funeral director, Tara Iannacone is a profiteering LIAR who will abuse and disgrace your loved one to pad your bill. Two ill-mannered people, a man and a woman, dressed in jeans and hoodies (not dark suits) removed my mother from our home in a bag, banging my tiny 85lb mom on the cement step and then transporting her in an unmarked hatchback car. After charging me more than double the normal rate for a transport and cremation, amoral lying Tara Iannacone over the next THREE WEEKS told me the crematorium was backed up (LIE), that she had contacted Holy Sepulcher Cemetery several times (LIE) and that the Holy Sepulcher urn my mother wanted was unavailable in all colors and backordered until November 2 (mom died October 8). (LIE) She took $495 from me for the Holy Sepulcher urn and told me that she had arranged with Holy Sepulcher to have the urn shipped from Holy Sepulcher to Blake-Doyle when it arrived. (LIE)  Each time you call, the evil Dorothy or dishonest Tammy Rhue Ingram (who may have been the inappropriately-dressed and RUDE woman that picked up my mom) give you the run around. Tara just left, is out today, is unavailable - all manner of delay. I finally called Holy Sepulcher Cemetery myself. The only director, Joseph Pirello, confirmed unequivocally that he was NEVER contacted by lying Tara Iannacone or anyone else at Blake-Doyle, that he had plenty of urns, and that there is no delay at any crematoriums. After contacting the police, I called Blake-Doyle whom I had paid in full including the illusive urn over 3 weeks earlier to pick up my mom's ashes. Arriving 30 minutes later the evil Dorothy won't give her to me. After 3 threats to call the police she sends out no-conscience manager Robert Gauvin who similarly refuses to give me my mother's ashes until I threaten him 3 more times. Cowardly, he sends evil Dorothy back with the ashes. It's no surprise that this criminal operation, after irrevocably harming my family by unnecessarily leaving my mother without service or burial for over 3 weeks, will not refund the $495 fee for the urn we never received. Tara Iannacone is a calculating vulture who belongs in prison for fraud and felony theft by deception. read more

I cannot stress how how wonderful my family's experience was with Blake-Doyle. During a difficult time, the staff ensured that they would take care of every little detail without adding more stress to our week, and they did. They personalized the rooms for the viewing services and made it feel extremely homey, welcoming and a great reflection on my Grandfather. Tara and the other woman working with us (apologies that we cannot remember the name) helped us set up photos, transport things and took care of every little thing over the 2 days of services. We're so grateful for their work, professionalism, and compassion, which made a hard week much easier for us. Would recommend to anyone. read more

If I could give this place a negative rating I would. They are the absolute worst!!! It started when they never called me back after leaving a message with their answering service. Then Jim screwed up my mom's name and blamed ME for giving him the wrong information, in our initial visit. In that same initial visit, where I'm supposed to making preliminary decisions about my mom's memorial service, he spends an hour lecturing me about different things - less than 48 hours after my mom's very sudden passing. Needless to say, I didn't need that. Then they screwed up my mom's date of birth, not to mention a slew of other things. After that, they charged me $3400 for an hour service in a filthy, dirty "viewing" room. It was horrible. I can't tell you how many people said how awful the service was and that I was overcharged, to which I wholeheartedly agree. My mom's employer offered to pay for the service but pulled out, apparently. Did they bother to notify me? Absolutely not. They sent it to collections without ever trying to obtain payment from me. A payment I would, and will, gladly make. When I called to rectify the situation, I spoke the the evilest women, aka, their receptionist. During that 15+ minute phone call, she laughed at me, called me a liar, psycho and many other names. She told me I was crazy, refused to take any information from me and kept saying "blah blah blah". When I told her I was coming down to speak with Eric, the manager, and pay the bill, she threatened me and said she called the cops. I was floored! I couldn't believe this woman. She refused to take my number or to tell Eric to call me back. After I called Diginity Memorial (which is another nightmare to deal with) and left a million message with Blake-Doyle's answering service, Eric finally called me back. He told me he was sorry and not to pay the bill because he was going to resubmit it to my mom's employer and pull it out of collections. He felt it was unnecessarily placed there and felt it warranted removal. I told him that if, for whatever reason, the company didn't pay for it please let me know and I would gladly take care of it. He said "I absolutely will." A few months go by and I don't hear anything from them. I thought it was paid or still pending. Well, last Thursday night I received a notice in the mail from the same collection agency stating I was now "severely delinquent". I almost exploded, I was so mad. It appears that he never pulled it from collections, like he promised. Now I have this "black marl" on my near perfect credit. All because these people lied and didn't do what they promised. Anyway, I immediately called Eric on his cell phone and asked him to call me. In that message, I told him what he needed to do. He has yet to call me, a week later. I have called Diginity Memorial 7 or 8 times, now, and have yet to receive a call back. I was told to call billing. They didn't know anything. They kept transferring me or putting me on hold. After 45 minutes on the phone with them, I was no further along then when I started. Each person told me they couldn't help me or told me to deal directly with the funeral home. Yeah, the one that never calls me back and threatens to arrest me. Such wonderful customer service, ya think? At this point, I'm so fed up with both these companies. I cannot tell you how much I regret using their overpriced, sub-par services. They are rude, uncaring and extremely unprofessional. Please, save yourself aggrevation. Go elsewhere!!!!! There are enough other funeral homes, DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE A NIGHTMARE THAT DOESN'T GO AWAY....EVER!! read more

Recently my Mom's funeral took place at Blake-Doyle Funeral Home. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and to meet our needs. Their attention to detail and caring were superb. The property is well maintained, attractive and clean. I would recommend this establishment without hesitation. read more
