I've used the same vet for many years but when he retired and moved away I found myself scrambling. My shoer recommended Dr Blair. I had a pony that was hacking a condition he had suffered from a few different times over the years so I left her a message knowing the cough was only going to get worse. She called me back that evening and told me she would be making her rounds the next day nearby and would be more than happy to stop in. What an incredible woman! Just as gentle as the day is long with the patience of Jobe. She followed me back to the patient and while vaccinating the horses managed to answer a barrage of stupid random questions spanning a whole host of things I threw at her. She continue to give me great advice all the way back to her vehicle which she leisurely strolled to pausing every now and again to meet her new clientele. A particular bunch that gave her no trouble. Not even my old, grumpy and anti social potbelly bore Frankie. Which usually won't come out for anyone! Especially not someone in a work truck but eventually even he came out to see what all the fuss was about. She charged us a very reasonable fee and takes all forms of payments. A very handy thing especially when you have emergencies in the middle of the night. Actually I didn't try trading her and given the right trade I'm not even sure that's out of the question LOL My son looked at her as if she had just popped off the pages of one of his beloved books. I told him I half expected the pet frog of her childhood to spring free from her pocket. He laughed and said "me too". To top it all off she proposed the novel concept that my ponies respiratory issues might actually be seasonal and we may be able to prevent it all together with a little treatment prior to the season. I am sad to see our vet go but I am very glad we found Dr. Blair! I feel a lot more comfortable now knowing her numbers on the refrigerator not only for maintenance but in the event of an emergency God forbid. Thanks Dr. Blair read more
