I was a patient of Dr. James Blair at DHMG Internal Medicine (St. Joseph's, Phoenix) and had serious problems with my care.
My medication refills -- blood pressure, nerve pain, and other prescriptions -- were repeatedly delayed past when they were due. This led to uncontrolled hypertension (a reading of 193/98 with a heart rate of 108, documented by the office's own staff), return of severe nerve pain with loss of mobility, and withdrawal symptoms when one medication lapsed entirely -- racing pulse, tremor, sweating, and severely disrupted sleep. A referral to a specialist had to be resent because it still hadn't gone through months after it was originally placed.
During one visit, a bloodied gauze bandage was left behind on a tray in my exam room -- a concerning lapse for any patient, and more so for someone immunocompromised.
I can't recommend this practice based on my experience. If you rely on time-sensitive medications or have a compromised immune system, I'd think carefully before choosing this office. The office is very poorly run. read more
