This is not a shop a budget conscious person should be considering. Edit: please note I'm not commenting on the service itself. This shop is listed as a $10 haircut so which is clearly not the case and I am deriding the rating and listing of the price range, which is clearly not a one symbol rating.

The staff, Julio, Deion and other names that escape me, treat their customers like family and remember every face that come in and out of the shop. I used to be super quiet when I would get my haircut and now I'm always talking to these guys non-stop shortly after I got comfortable. Their prices are reasonable for the location and work. The education, experience and work they have gone show in the beauty of their work. There's a reason why the staff are all booked up by the days and sometimes weeks. I wouldn't go anywhere else other that The Village Barbershop.

The shop always has good music on, and something decent on tv, usually sports . I like the vibe in there, the guys are all chill and just feels like you're hanging out with the boys. Highly recommend. Book ahead of time because as I said they are usually busy.

Seems like their prices have increased based on some other Yelp reviews. Nonetheless, it's well worth the money. The barber takes his time with your hair and clearly enjoys his job. I thought this was cool but they have iPads you can use while waiting for a cut. I've never seen that before and it was unexpected at a place like this. Yet most people have a phone it's good for any kids that might come in with their parents. Lastly, the reason I gave it a 4 star is because the beard trim with a straight blade is $9 extra. I thought that would be included in the haircut as it usually is at other barber shops that offer it. Perhaps he gives it free to regular customers because I noticed the two guys before me got it. That was a little disappointing. Overall, great experience would come back again!

Every once in a while I find a place that I just don't want to tell anyone else about. It's selfish…read morebut you can't go giving it all away for free now can you? Crows Nest Barbershop is that kind place. Tucked away in the basement of a clothing shop on Kensington Ave is one of the best barbershops I have ever seen. It's small and feels like a club house, the way barbershops were meant to be. The shop tends to cater to a more classic style of haircut. Don't be surprised if you see a good solid pompadour stroll out before you sit down. Crows Nest sells pomades and other hair styling products as well. There are only two chairs and one barber so you will probably have to plan ahead and make an appointment. If you're in a rush, this is not the place to go. I had the chance to sit down, relax a bit and read old (not classic, I mean printed in the 50s "old") hot rod magazines while the young man in the chair ahead of me got a lesson on how to pomp his hair. All the while I kept wondering why there aren't more places like this.
