We were referred to Blade Electric by our realtor. The house needed updated electrical panel prior to getting electrical service. We reside in San Antonio and the house is located in Andrews so the work was not monitored by us and all communications were by text, email or phone. I was given an estimate however after the work was completed the bill was well over double the estimate. I requested an itemized bill but was told that the fee was "the going rate" in the area.
After the work and out of curiosity for the bill being so high, I got two electrical contractors in the area give me an estimate for this service and it was about the same as what Blade originally gave as an estimate.
Needless to say we were thoroughly shocked by the bill and felt totally ripped off by the electrician.
In addition we had an electrical issue where half the house lost power when the heater fan came on. An electrician came to the house and found a very loose bolt in the electrical panel that caused an arcing and loss of power to the house. In addition, the cables running from the new panel to the breaker box were spliced together instead of running new cables which would have been approximately 18 I inches.
