Barber Mike is the best. However, my kids call him Mr. Mike. I dropped my eldest teen off looking cray and he came back looking fresh, modern and sharp. Mr. Mike hooked him up! He groomed his eyebrows and moustache and gave him an overall updated, cool look. It was so good that my youngest teen came back the next day. He asked Mr. Mike to give him what he thought was best. Little man left there feeling himself. Again, he groomed him and also gave him advice about hair care. We are so thankful to Mr. Mike. He's now our new barber after being a walk-in. My son received a very unfortunate haircut today, and while I don't normally leave reviews, I feel it's important to share this experience. Despite showing a picture and clearly explaining what we wanted, the result was far from what we asked for. The fade on each side of his head is uneven, there are two fades along the neck that don't blend and look like mountain peaks, and his bangs are cut at very different lengths. I even tried styling it with texture spray, but it hasn't helped. I did let the stylist know that he was cutting the hair too short and he continued doing so. Even after I asked him to stop, he continued snipping right in front of me until I finally had to remove the cape myself and pull my son out of the chair. The situation has been really upsetting, and my son is now reluctant to go to school. While the shop did refund the cost of the haircut, that doesn't make up for the outcome. I would urge caution when considering this shop, as it seems there may be inconsistencies in their work as it's clear by their three star rating. read more

This is a pretty good barber shop. I've only tried two of the Barbies here so far and they have both done a great job. One thing I like is that they're not too crazy busy and their prices are decent. I will say parking can be a little hard as it's usually street parking only with a paid meter. Man where do I start first time here... I had made an appointment over the phone then I got there waited about 20mins passed my appointment time until the barber got me in. I asked for a taper with just an inch of the top (as I usually get a blocky cut because of my head shape). But ima just let these pictures do the talking cause I deadass paid 30 to get my hair fucked up.. I have been going to this Blade Barbershop for the past 15 years and I have always came out looking fresh and sharp. Entertainment I think is a must while either waiting to get in the barbers chair or being in the barbers chair letting the artist create another masterpiece. The T.Vs at the shop are actually usefully setup with some form of spot and movie playing which makes the barber shop a chill space to be in. Some reviews have been left about the setup not being professional, but I am all for a live place. For over the last year I have been going to Ramon for my haircuts. Ramon knows how to not only listen to what is being asked, but he also knows how to cut your hair just as asked. Ramon is certified and I got done wrong the one time I didn't get my haircut from him. I had my appointment with Kevin today. Appointments are key and idk why people expect to just get seen after randomly showing. I was careful with choosing the style I wanted and with definite detail I told Kevin exactly what I wanted letting him know I wanted a Low Drop Fade taking a little off all around. Simple right... Not for some because Kevin royal my cut up. About 10 minutes in I saw from the corner of my left eye a Fat chunk of my hair rolling down from my shoulder to my chest. This guy is doing his own own thing right now and has totally ignored what I asked Faq!!!!!! to myself. I told Kevin hey this isn't what I asked for, but all he said was oh man sorry I can take $5 off and continued to cut my hair giving me the highest fade and doing everything I didn't ask for like lining up my beard with a razor. The shop came highly recommended. Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience. I got there at 8am but shop wasn't open until 8:35am. That should have been my cue to leave but I stayed and waited another 25 minutes for the "barber" to show up. There are 2 people Names "MO" At the shop, I had an appointment schedule with "Mo" an older gentleman on 07/08 at 1pm, I texted him and reminded him maybe an hour before that I'd be there, I took a lunch break at 12:50 and drive over to the shop where I was waiting for 40 mins, he never shows up so I go to the next available barber, at this point I know I'm going to be late to get back to work, but I really needed a haircut..the barber that takes me his name is also "Mo" he's younger maybe 28, I show him a picture of the haircut I usually get and he starts cutting, IVE NEVER HAD A MORE BUSTED ASHEY FADE IN MY LIFE. Both sides of my head had 2 different lengths, he had patches of hair around my head on areas that should have been faded, he drew an H in my hair where there were supposed to be 2 diagonal lines. The LINE UP WAS MORE CROOKED THAN DONALD TRUMP. I left very pissed off. I paid and still tipped 2 dollars which he didn't even deserve that. I text the "mo" I originally had an apt with and told him how messed up his partner did my hair, because he didn't show up, we set another appointment for 6pm that night so he can fix his partners mistakes, when I get there for our appointment, he has a bunch of walk ins and I'm sitting for an hour waiting... even though for the 2nd time I was on time for my apt... He finally got to me and fixed as best he could his partners ASHEY fade, he agreed that the fade was super horrible as well , but then he made me REPAY FOR an entire haircut. So I paid for 2 haircuts in one day. Regardless of the him not showing for his apt, making me wait for hours, and getting the worst fade of my entire adult life. I was walking down the street when a gentleman named Mike approached me and said I should come in for a haircut. I was in need of a haircut but I had to first finish my work. I appreciated his go-getting attitude and his confidence so I decided to give it a go. After my work, I went and got a cut from Michael. It came out literally perfect. I didn't have to ask him to change anything after he had finished it came out just the way I like it. After failed attempts at one discount barber shop who I used to go regularly, and many failed attempts at Floyd's Barbershop this was a big relief. Tried this place from using a Groupon because I was trying to find a new place to get my hair cut. Got the option for a hair cut and a straight razor shave. When I arrived I informed them I was there to use my Groupon for the option I had purchased. I was seated immediately and asked how I wanted my hair cut. Everything started out fine but then I started to get nervous when the guy cutting my hair was paying more attention to what was on the television than the cut he was giving me. The experience continued to sour when he went straight from trimming the back of my neck to shaving my face with the same clippers. I was under the impression I was going to receive a straight razor shave. I have sensitive skin and only use blades on myself at home. Since I had been expecting a professional shave I also hadn't shaved in a week. I assumed he was just trimming it up so that it'd be easier for the razor but assumed wrong. After a some what uncomfortable attack on my face with the clipper he pulled out a normal electric shaver and started going back over my face. I would think they would be concerned about razor burn from an electric razor since it's my understanding your face needs time to adjusting to an electric razor. He then proceeded to lather my entire face in who knows what. At this point I'm just biting my tongue not to start complaining because I don't like making a scene. Right as he's about to finish up with me the other guy in the shop leaves. When I get out of the chair and pull up my Groupon to scan so that I can get out of there I'm informed that the guy that just left is the one that needs to do it. I wait between ten and fifteen minutes for him to return from getting his lunch so that he can take my voucher. Needless to say I won't be back. As far as I'm concerned this place false advertised. My face is on fire thanks to the shoddy shave and the hair cut is not to my standards that I'm most likely going to go elsewhere in hopes that they can cover it up. read more

Not sure why these reviews are so....crappy. I was referred to MoeTheBarber by a few people in the 818 (might as well speak my valley code) I wanted a simple design on my head after a few weeks of shaved sides freedom. I called up the shop and Moe said, c'mon in I'm here till 7. I pull up to park behind a 1988 Iroc Camaro. Moe waves me in and says "the mohawk right? I walk in and realize I am the only female in the establishment. This means 2 things. 1. I cannot cry in front of them no matter what happens and 2. We can talk broads all afternoon. *score* He sat me down and I showed him a picture of Cassie, told him how I wanted it and he went to work. Moe politely asked if I minded a razor blade, I didn't decline because never have i ever had my hair done with one. He was EXTREMELY precise and technical. My design, edge-up and fade took him maybe 23 minutes. (i say 23 cause the dude chilling in the chair to my right had on some Concord Jordans) I left there feeling pretty good. I felt the price i paid was honorable and decent. I'll be back again, my fro grows fast and I am digging my CLEAN AND SHARP edge-up. Side-note, i noticed 2 ATM's in there. I paid with cash, so I am not sure if they take credit cards. I am not pleased with this place at all. The only reason I am not giving zero stars is because is because I have a conscious and I know not all the barbers are responsible for one bad apple.( Plus that application is not possible on here) My haircut was fine, the place has plenty of seats, looks great actually but my problem came at the end. The price was OK, I paid. The major break down came when I gave the barber a $10.00 bill and asked for singles in change so I could tip him. He came back with a $5.00 dollar bill and walked off, like peace the f-out. To me that is like somebody just stealing your money. I was going to give him three because the cut was good enough and he did it fairly quick. But for him to just take the money and walk off, OK this is going to be my last time here , you lost a customer for life. It would have been easy to start arguing with him, but for five dollars ??? Really ,take it buddy , you showed no tact or integrity and that's that. I rather give my money to someone that respects their customers. Unfortunately I feel that this speaks volumes for the type of attitude of the employees in this establishment and the management that would hire them or allow this kind of environment occur with the customers.
