They're not super-professional, but they're nice. They do have three curtain-drawn massage areas for regular Thai massage ($55/hr), and two rooms for oil massage ($90/hr). To be clear: this is not an erotic massage place, although you might at first mistake it for such. But they have loyalty cards and aromatherapy and certificates on the wall. It's just no-frills. If you have an oil massage they have showers you can use before and after.

A Korean spa with hot pools, steam rooms, scrub tables and dry spas. It was an amazing place to detox, rejuvenate the skin, sweat and just feel great. Unfortunately, no Korean spas in Sydney...sad face. I did however come across a company called Nature's Energy. They have three locations in the Inner West of Sydney: Balmain, Glebe and Newtown and are open 7 days a week. You can choose from a number of services including massages, facials, scrubs, healing treatments and hydrotherapy. In addition to treatments, they have heaps of goods for sale including gifts, candles, room sprays and they also make their own line of essential oils. I invited my friend Nicole to join me in exploring Nature's Energy and their Bath House Experience as I had been craving some hydrotherapy. The Spa recommends using a session to enhance the benefits of their treatments. It is unisex so you must bring a bathing suite, however Wednesdays is reserved for women only. Inside you can enjoy all of the following: 30 min - $26 | 45 min - $35| 60 min* - $40 Hot Spa Cold Spa Steam Room Sauna Shower & Change Room Facilities Towels, Gown & Slippers Complimentary Herbal Teas & Refreshments Nicole and I had fun lounging in our robes, sipping tea before we headed in. Taking PhotosWhen you book a 60 min Bath House Experience you can add on an extra treatment at a discounted rate. The Turkish body scrub is a full body scrub using exfoliation gloves in combination with a seasonal based body wash.Their summer blend is created to uplift & invigorate whilst spring is a zesty blend to tone & detoxify. Winter is warming & soothing and autumn is nourishing & protecting. (taken off the Nature's Energy website) Add-on Turkish Body Scrub - $27 (normally $36) Add-on Sultan Body Scrub - $46 (normally $60) I highly recommend the bath house for many reasons, it is fairly affordable and the add-on Sultan scrub we chose was amazing! We got an entire scrub and lotion for the whole body and it ended with a quick but effective massage. In total we spent $80 for the 2 1/2 hours we spent there. In addition, I picked up one of their essential oils for my oil burner which has Essentail Oils called New Beginnings and consisted of Jasmine, Neroli, Rose, Marjoram and Lavender and currently burning in the bedroom.

Natures energy is a pretty cool sensual sort of spot on darling street where you can go to find a variety of "shakra" type things. It's pretty great as a window-shopping destination, but if you're really into this sort of thing, you can set a bee line straight for it. Depends really what you're looking for; when I went in the store had a little of this and that spanning a few different areas, so if you've got something really specific you want, maybe call first. But then again, I'm a guy, I don't really know heaps about scented soap and I don't harbour a lot of interest in Taro, but being a tea-drinker, I liked the range of various teas and herbs for different purposes and ailments. I wasn't too concerned with what they did compared to how they tasted, but they drew me in!

I found her as I was walking in Maroubra and saw a sign for massage. She had a little room at the top of a studio that specialised in wrestling. I walked past the weird dudes sweating, grunting and rolling around the floor like 3yr olds, and up the stairs I went, to a haven of relaxation. Beautiful music was playing, the lights low and that yummy burning oil smell that only professionals get right. I lay down on the expertly arranged towel system and let my head hang. WOW, does this woman know her stuff. I should have guessed from the pictures of the anatomy on the walls and the "really big" books on the shelf. She asked if everything was to my liking and I owned up to the fact that I hate the meditation music with a voice in it. It makes me feel like there are three people in the room, not two. She swiftly changed it and her magic hands got back to the job. It's magic because she knows exactly where my ailments lie. She proceeded to tell me about these parts and how they were affecting my body and man, could I feel her fixing me! She fell silent and I fell into a deep bliss. I go to her regularly now and every time there is the beautiful music playing, sans voice. I recommend her to many. Perhaps that is why you have to book about a week in advance and she has taken over the whole studio and turned it into a yoga and health hub? No more climbing over sweaty men to get to heaven. Delight!
