The school almost has a large "home-school" feel where every student receives individual attention. And while the school is small, the students do not lack anything. They have the basics (math, reading, etc), but also enjoy learning second languages, art, music, and much more. Plus, the tuition is the lowest in the valley, so cost is not prohibitive for those who want a private education for their children. This school genuinely cares for its students and their education. We have settled in into the Easter Seals Busy Beats family. Hope makes you feel connected and there is absolutely no judgment whatsoever when your kid may not want to participate (or decides that running around is their choice activity for the day). The constant encouragement and assistance is very appreciated. We've been coming since we moved here and can't wait for class every week!

But most importantly, MY KIDS LOVE THE CHILDREN'S NEST! When you first go for a tour, it's not too much to look at compared to some more (much more) expensive daycare facilities. But they have all the space they need for the kids and it is kept CLEAN. They have separate classrooms for different ages. They have a huge indoor play area (for bad weather days) and plenty of outdoor spaces that are catered to your child's specific developmental needs (i.e. big kids go to the big kid's play ground while the younger kids have smaller and infant/toddler friendly play areas). They provide meals and snacks, unless your child has dietary restrictions then you provide the food. But they are very adamant about following your directions in regards to feedings, potty training and any other special need you/your child may have. The best part about the daycare is that all of the teachers genuinely love and care for each child. EVERY teacher knows my children's names, even if they do not teach or interact regularly with them every day. And my kids are always excited to go, learn, play...and they nap! That is a bonus! You get a verbal report of how their day was and in the 1-2 yr old class you get a written report as well. Ok, this was a long review. Bottom line, they are awesome! I was treated rudely when I contacted The Children's Nest to inquire about availability for my son…read more The first time I called, I was told that the person who could answer my questions was out, but they took my contact information. They never returned my call. A week later, I tried again, and once again the person was not available. This time, however, they did call me back the next day. At first they were friendly, telling me that they may be able to fit him in. When I told them that I was seeking short-term child care (two months), they abruptly switched me to a different person. This second person made me ask my question again, then tersely told me that they couldn't help me and rushed me off of the phone. I completely understand that short-term child care is not something that everyone offers, but that is no reason to treat me like a pest for asking!

At the age of 1 she was diagnosed with a speech impediment. Me and my husband felt she had a learning disability. We were referred from a physician friend to Roanoke Valley Montessori for our daughter. This has been the Greatest gift for our daughter. We were assured by the Director that our daughter did not have a learning disability. The speech impediment is gone. Our daughter has been thriving since being at Roanoke Valley Montessori School. After seeing her pediatrician, she agrees our daughter has thrived being at this school. I cannot say enough about the cleanliness of this school either, it is absolutely immaculate in cleanliness, it is so clean you can smell the clean. Thank you to all of the teachers and the Director Ms Michele for allowing our daughter a place in your school. We are forever eternally grateful.

It breaks my heart to see some of the negative reviews on here, because This simply has not been our experience. I think many of the concerns from others are simply a difference in one's beliefs and opinions. You have a choice where to send your child, and if you don't like the care that they are receiving, you can leave. I personally Would recommend this daycare/school to anyone who asked me. My son is thriving and so excited to see the people there!

I volunteer for the YMCA and also was employed with the y at one point. Never had a bad experience in any areas of the place. I have attended church and they highly value the christen principles. To me there is nothing better for our home.
