I had researched a few artists in town, all are very busy and the good ones have a waiting list. With Black Swan, it's worth it. Due to the pandemic, they are even stricter now after the Delta variant with mandatory masks, no walk-ins, and no guests. I was in right before they enacted the stricter rules and was very impressed by how clean everything was. It has been a few decades since my last tattoo, but I was familiar with the process and knew about the sterilization, etc. They really put me at ease.Everyone was friendly and while professional, it felt like it was more of a family then coworkers there. So, while you cannot walk in right now and check them out, you can do so via their website and check out the individual artists on Instagram. If you are looking for a good tattoo artist, check them out, you won't regret it.

Nick was polite and professional when he worked at the previous two shops, but here he was rude and unsanitary. I came in for color on my mermaid tattoo he'd done a few years back. I'm not sure if he was in a pissy mood that day or what but the pain level was too much. Not sure he had the machine set to the right level or what. I was in there maybe 45 minutes. I was in way more pain than before with the line work. He took a smoke break, came back in and immediately put gloves on! He didn't bother to wash his hands at all. Gross! That's when I told him I was done for that day and decided to leave. They still charged me full price for 45 minutes. I hope he doesn't work here anymore.

It hurt like a bitch and I'm pretty sure I'll never put myself through that agony again, but if I decide I want to torture myself, I'll be back to 1603!
