And charging our credit card. The voicemail I received said they we not able to send a driver for the class of service we reserved due to multiple premium events. My experience with Blacklane revealed the real face of this company: a polished, luxurious image for customers, but blatant exploitation of drivers. * The company often takes more than half of the fare, even though the driver covers all the costs (car, fuel, insurance, maintenance). * In some cases, even after dropping the customer at the desired location, the entire fare is deducted by the company, simply because the driver forgot to press the "on the way," "arrived," or "trip completed" button. * All the rules are designed to benefit the company and the customer, while the driver bears all the risks without any protection or guarantee. * Some customers, influenced by Blacklane's "luxury" image, treat drivers with arrogance or attempt to belittle them, even though the driver is the one actually providing the service. Advice for customers: Whenever possible, try to book directly with the driver or local limousine companies. This way, less than half of the fare will be deducted, the customer will be happy, and the driver will be happy, instead of most of their dignity and earnings going to a company like Blacklane. The bottom line: Blacklane is not the premium, high-quality service it claims to be, but arrogance disguised as luxury. Horrible company. They are a third partly and own 0 cars. They profit from local drivers. The fee they charge you ? They only give 25% to the driver who pays for everything (luxury cars, insurance, fuel etc.). And on top off that, they will give the driver a penalty every chance they've got (The driver press the button 1 minute after ? PENALTY.) Considering booking local, honest and hardworking drivers. Our prices are lower than what they charge you and with no third party in between. The customer service is the worst for clients AND drivers. They would never try to understand you, and if they don't pay you back as a customer if you had a problem, they don't pay the driver also and keep the money for themselves. BE CAREFUL ! read more

Driver did not know the company for which he was working as he "found them on Indeed," had never driven the broken down old Volvo in which he arrived, (and which "said low coolant,") had never been to San Diego... and generally made for a terrible ride after a long-haul First Class flight. It started out as a decent idea -- the ultimate Uber --and has degraded into a so-so service with some of the worst customer experience I've ever experienced. Definitely avoid. Last year I was left stranded in Switzerland, but this year's stupidly decided to give him a second chance. Now, as issue has resulted in customer service issues that have lasted days. Waiting, texting, emails and nothing ever resolved and then having to start over the next day. Never mind they actually think AI is a good idea for a luxury service. Frustrating Experience with Blacklane: A Cautionary Tale for Future Travelers Write a title for this My family has used this service for years and today 1/3/25, was probably the final. Our driver was supposed to pick us up from a cruise terminal in port Canaveral. We told our driver we were in terminal 1 in the drop off/pick up area. The driver then asked where that was. My family and I were dumbfounded and extremely frustrated. The driver told us to go in the middle of a busy road so he could see us. WTF!! The sign was clear where he was supposed to go. There were people directing traffic. Lots of cars were going into the garage to pick up passengers. There was a space on the opposite side for hotel vans, motor coaches and sprinter van pick ups. But this driver did not understand where he was supposed to go. We sent video of where we were. Nothing worked until my dad thought he saw him and started waving his hands and the driver finally noticed. It took an hour for the guy to finally find us. The driver said he was still learning English. It is unacceptable to hire anyone who cannot read basic signs. We filed a formal complaint and black lane tried to give us 25% off. That is disrespectful. They finally gave us 50% off with a 25% promo code for next time. Highly doubt we will use black lane ever again. Hit or miss, but mostly miss. These guys, far as I can tell, are a pure middleman. When this service works, it's great. They pick good "partners" to service the rides. Only one, when I actually got a car, did I not like the ride. The hitch is, as a pure middleman, they don't guarantee anything and they seemingly earn money on the float -- you prepay but they don't prebook. It seems in the 24h before the ride, they try to find someone to service it. If they can great. If they can't, you get three cancellations during Slush in Helsinki. The following day I received an email in my personal email from Blacklane - Autoresponder noreply+noreply@blacklane.com saying they were unable to locate my flight # for the car service we had booked. I sent them a screenshot of the flight number and moved on. Not thinking anything of it. We arrived in Belfast and were met by the driver where I immediately sensed a 'weird vibe'. He hardly said a word, grabbed one of our three cases and started walking off. We followed him to the pay machine. I received a text from the company that we booked the car service with asking me 'Where are you, I am waiting at the gate for you?' I showed the guy who met us asking who is this? What is this?' He shrugged and walked over to the car, hardly looking at me. He quickly loaded our luggage. I got another message, Teresa, this is 'John', I drove you from Dublin to Belfast, I am here to drive you back. Where are you?' I told him where we were, and he came running over. By the time John arrived I had pulled all the cases out of the car. John opened the driver's door and asked what he was doing. The guy just sat there. On the way back to Dublin, in the correct car with the driver from the company we booked the car service from which we got background as to what Blacklane are playing at. They are somehow getting client booking information. They send a driver, qualified for the job, who the hell knows! They arrive in what is usually a taxi or some clapped out POS which is probably not appropriately insured. They pick up the client and bill for the trip. Lord only knows how they got my personal email address and my credit card information, none of the companies we dealt with on this trip were given credit card information. They charge your card, send you booking confirmations, then cancel rides due to lack of finding drivers AFTER you have arrived to your destination for pick up. I have been stranded twice. Then customer service says you won't t be charged for the ride. Big whoop. Yeah, but the pending charge ties up your funding for three to five days before it is released. He made us walk 7 mins with all of our bags just to say that he can't take us anymore but we would still be charged. Assured by "dispatcher" that this was a taxi. Only after driving for 10 minutes along the highway to Paris, did the French-speaking driver ask me for something. I didn't understand and he typed his question into a translation app...asking me for a tip in US dollars as "someone gave him that yesterday." He eventually called the English-speaking manager who told me that this was a metered car - NO meter was visible or turned on for me to see - and that was what I had to pay. The driver left the freeway - yes, it was morning rush hour - and went on side streets to my hotel, He deliberately stayed in the slow lane behind trucks, missing changes of lights in order to run up the meter. My total time was over 2 hours in the car for a total of almost 297 Euros, or $338 dollars! read more
