Hmmm.... well two entries came up for Blackhawk Gallery and one said it was closed. I don't know for sure since I have not visited Saratoga lately or if they simply relocated. Anyway to the point. This art gallery is a fine place to go if you are interested in primarily western art and the local artists in the community. Although the staff and management want to emphasize variety in their art besides Western art this place is really just Western Art and Western Art only when you boil it down to the basics. Western art meaning cowboys and Indians...I mean Native Americans and stuff. If you are looking for this kind of art work then this place is fine to go to but if you really want diversity in art which includes western and south western art you are better off going to New Mexico to Taos and Santa Fe specifically. In these towns it seems that there is a art gallery for every taste. Blackhawk has been around forever and it is a bit sad to see them go since(if they did not relocate) it is probably the only remaining gallery in town...well maybe there are more than one art gallery in Saratoga...on a good day. But with the crippling national recession and the see saw local economy where coal mines and oil fields are open and then closed it leaves few to go around partaking in leisure activities like buying art. read more
