A little back ground on my story I was out of it when Blackburn was first called, once I came to and knew what happened and the Attorney that was called I was happy! The first time I meet Chris i was taken back by how down to earth and relatable that he was. So I got a lowball offer and felt forced to sign a settlement offer right in the office with the city of Fort Wayne's notary right there. The lady who did the notary even sat there while my lawyer Tom Blackburn took advantage of me and made me sign the offer. They all knew (Tom Blackburn, Rachel, and the Notery lady)I was hesitant to sign the offer and basicly lied to me to get my signature on paper so they can walkaway from my case. I do not suggest anyone to hire Tom Blackburn as he is a fraud and will not fight for you to get the most out of any settlement. It was very wrong from the start of my case in 2022 until now 2024 to have fought for two years get lowballed at the lowest possible settlement offer. We fought for two whole years and of course it was a complicated case to begin with but come on that's whatI hired them to do was fight for me and with me. Tom Blackburn knew I was not satisfied with the offer and I wanted to go to trial to fight as I spoke with the answering service to leave a message for Tom Blackburn telling him to help me fight this and go to trial. The thing was is that he knew I wanted to fight this and tricked me into getting my signature on paper so they can be done with this casee. It was as if my case didn't matter to them amd they took advantage of me or possibly made a side deal with the city to make this go away. I was struck by a police vehicle while being a pedestrian skateboarding on the sidewalk. I could have gotten killed and no mind to the city of Fort Wayne Indiana and tried to make me look like I was at fault while I laid there on a busy 3 lane street with cars zooming by me. I was hurt not knowing if I had internal bleeding or if I was going to be ok. While I laid there the police tried to frisk search me for whatever reason. They said they was looking tlfor my ID but I had already given them my name date of birthday and social security number verbally. This while case was not taken seriously by Tom Blackburn as I have continued on going medical bills from this accident and he did not care to even take that into consideration nor the injury to my head/brain as I have had a disability from a Traumatic Brain Injury and psychological problems from numerous Traumatic injuries. This one just added to my Disabilities as I hit my head on the asphalt from the police hitting me with what I call a weapon ( police car) that dreadful afternoon. This adds to my Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and they don't care that I have continued on going psychological therapy for this incident. It was very wrong for both my legal counsel and the City of Fort Wayne Police officers to treat me as if I did not matter or the injuries I sustained from the Accident. I have a severe brain injury where I have to have therapy for life and this whole case was treated like I was a criminal and do not matter as a citizen of Fort Wayne where I work with people at the Recovery Cafe Fort Wayne and try to work two jobs just to sustain a living. It is very unfair that this happened to me and the trickery that was used to get me to sign something that I really didn't want to signed under duress. I belive I am owed an explanation and fair compensation in this case but I don't think I will get one. read more

Completely a fraud. Takes more money than they are supposed to then tries to keep your money from you. I hired him for my mom's estate. If I could select lower than one star for this legal company I would. Blackburn and Romey are the most unethical I have ever met. It took almost 3 years to settle my case and was told the settlement (because my bran new car was rear ended as well as I was seriously hurt), would be substantial - turned out to be insignificant. They had me sign - and I only heard from Mr. Blackburn once by phone before the case was settled. When I called to inquire - was always sent to a para-legal or office clerk who had to ask the attorney. Also was told I would have Mr. Blackburn, and ended up at mediation being sent to David Singleton, whom I had never met. Also, felt he wasn't trying his best for my benefit. They would not let me meet in person with the at-fault driver/and her insurance company when settling the claim - however - brought in their own personal mediary who would go to a private room where the the at-fault driver and her insurer were - then come back and tell me what they would offer. It makes a person wonder if they pocket part of the claim for their benefit because the settlement they offered was very small. Would have been nice to go to court, however, was not physically able from the severe injuries acquired from this accident. They keep advertising on tv that have been voted best attornies in Fort Wayne 3 years in a row - how can this be true with such low ratings everywhere. read more

I had a great experience before with this law firm Now i came back with a new suit, I have had terrible service no real direction, no in person interview, no feedback, I.call and feel like im being talked down too, my emails to the paralegal get responded to like im an idiot and how dare i email her.
