Update: The owner called me over a year after she said she would pay me what she owed me ($198). She stated she would do this if I took down my review and created a contract we would both sign stating that I would not review her business again. I decided that I did not want to enter into any additional contracts with this individual and that my review was likely helpful to members of the community. We had our first and last lesson with Tina today. I spoke with Tina on the phone and requested horseback riding lessons. She said she also does teaching with her students, I said that sounds good. At the end of our first "lesson", my daughter mostly listened to Tina talk about her horse, NO RIDING. I texted her when I got home to ask if my daughter will be riding next week? She said no, there are no riding lessons until maybe the 4th lesson. I clearly stated again I am here for RIDING LESSONS, if she will not offer riding lessons, I want a refund, she refused to give a lesson or a refund. My name is Krista. I worked for Tina at Black Kettle Ranch in Parker, Colorado in March and April of 2023. I cleaned stalls, filled the water and swept. I stopped working there because it was not a healthy environment for me. I am an adult with disabilities and I have rights. Tina has not paid me my final pay check. She has been informed by my team on several occasions that she owes me 60 dollars for work I performed. She has been reported to Adult Protective Services two times and a Critical Incident report was filed with DDRC for exploitation of a vulnerable adult with disabilities. She still refuses to pay me. If I could give no stars, I would! In early July I reached out to Tina to secure horse riding lessons for my daughters 8th birthday. I booked 5 lessons for $337. She told me that if I booked multiple there was a discount. She sent me the invoice and I paid it! On August 5 I reached out to confirm our lessons - she didn't have us down. In fact she had no idea what happened. She somehow confused my name with my paypal name - (my maiden name), fine it happens. When I asked WHO she had down, she said no one. She clearly had no idea where that payment came from but yet accepted it anyways and never reached out to the email asking why they paid her (she was confused by the payment name). I asked her if we could still be acommodated or if not to refund my money immediately - which she did. However when I went to leave my review of the company and how disappointed I was, she left reviews on my page! When I left them on her facebook - she deleted them. She asked me why I reviewed her and I let her know my review stood because it was my experience with the company. After she reviewed my business, I filed a BBB complaint to which she responded and BLATANTLY LIED!!!!!! She said we had agreed to a discount in exchange for photos of her property! NO WE DID NOT!!! I called for my daughter. I shoot WEDDINGS NOT HORSE RANCHES!!! I wouldn't even know what to take photos of!!!!!! She is a liar and is petty and is trying to get away with it, threatening a lawyer for defamation of character - please try!!! Because all I've done is left reviews of my experience!!!! read more

We recently moved our horses to Black Kettle from another boarding facility and quite honestly we could not be happier with Tina or the facility. Tina is meticulous in her care for all the horses and the safety and well being of all horses on the property. Tina is hard working and 100% devoted to her training and is extremely thorough in every aspect of her horsemanship. There is not a single thing I would change at Black Kettle and could not be more satisfied. Thank you Tina!! read more
