We used our trusty Google translate app to determine the menu items that were unfamiliar to us, and ordering was easy enough. (Luckily, a lot of what we ordered we knew about, but we also pointed to the menu just in case, since it was a bit louder than average.)
I'm glad we didn't come on an empty stomach, as it took a good 35 to 40 min before our food arrived. I got the Rindswurst and the bf got the Nuremburg sausages that came with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, of which they did NOT skimp. Half the plate was kraut, half potatoes. Since it was technically Thanksgiving and because I already had a lot of roasted potatoes, I was glad to see that the potatoes were "puree" (aka mashed), which made it feel a little more appropriate.
What has astounded me is how inexpensive beer is. Most beer items are the same price or even cheaper than soda. (Probably b/c the soda is imported, but still!). Instead of being a "cheap date" with a non-alcohol beverage, I was an average date. LOL.
In any case, from what we could tell there weren't a lot of tourists. It's on the south side, across the river from the main part of Frankfurt, but it is easy to get to, either by walking or by local transportation.
