I thought I would try the Black Horse at Blaby on a Thursday evening as I heard that they do a good steak night.
Frankly, I'm sorry I bothered. I found it to be a most unfriendly and hostile place. It seems to be frequented by mainly middle aged to elderly customers. No doubt they are regular's and no doubt they all know each other. So if you are a stranger you are looked upon as something of a curiosity, and with great suspicion.
The staff are coldly polite. Some of the customers are actively rude, that's if they speak at all.
I can't comment on the food. There was a waitress moving around the tables taking orders, but she chose to totally ignore me. I eventually felt so uncomfortable that I left without ordering any food and ate elsewhere.
I felt unwelcome in this pub and I doubt I will ever go back there. One good point, no unruly kids running around, that's a massive plus. It gets one star for that.
