There are boats that will take you to see dolphins. There are boats that do sunsets cruises. The Black Dragon Pirate Ship has pirates, interactive fun, a cannon, music, fun for all ages, sight seeing for dolphins, learning about the island and the sunset. We had so much fun! If you can't handle being picked on, don't go aboard. It's all in good fun. I'd go again. HECK! I'd become a pirate if I lived out there!! If you like pirates, book a trip. It's worth the money.

Had a great time on the cruise. Only 2 hours and the shows were very interactive. I don't know if I would go again but it was a good one dy adventure, very much enjoyed the ship and shop. We will be posting a video on our YouTube channel Coolest Life.

What an awesome experience! We saw a ship as we crossed the bridge to get to South Padre Island and saw the pirate ship in the waters. Our hotel had a sign for the company and we booked the trip online. The crew was amazing. Several fun activities that were pirate themed like a version of Hot Potato but with a toy crab, water pistol battles, sword battles and more. The crew was amazing, cracking pirate jokes and singing. Everyone on board had a great time. Def recommended.

We saw this while looking for things to do while vacationing on South Padre Island. Seemed a little pricey but we have a 10 year old son with an amazing imagination so we were game! Do NOT question the price, it is worth EVERY penny!!! They do so many different things to keep the kids entertained & very engaged. I am pretty sure when we come back we will go again. Staff never went out of character. They had the kids wear name tags so they were called by name. You can tell this is not their first rodeo. Just make sure if you are wanting to do it to figure out what time (they run 3 times a day) & day & book it. We almost didn't get to go because they day & time we wanted was sold out.

Officially a pirate now!

What's a pirate's favorite letter? You think it is R (arrrrr) but actually, they prefer the C... That. Silly, giggly, groan-worthy, happy laughs. If you're up for a few hours of turning your brain off and your sense of humor on, then this is the place for you! My 11 year old was a little stand-offish at first thinking it would be too baby-ish for her. Well, 5 minutes in to it and there was that beautiful smile that overtook her entire face - and subsequently ours. It was ok for her to be a kid, to laugh, to wear a painted on mustache and beard, to sword fight (nerf) and scalliwag (sp?) and be in the moment. Thank heaven for little girls - and for cheesy pirates who bring them back to grateful mommies and daddies who would take this cruise again! again! again!

Aaaarrrrr!!!! Ahoy Matey! What a great tour to take with the kids if you're in the South Padre area! The Captain and crew absolutely love their job. I didn't see a single kid that didnt have a great time! Oh, and there is a full bar on board. We had a 10 and 12 year old that had a blast. We even planned for this trip weeks in advance as you can see the pirate hat with dreadlocks - anything to embarrass my kid! For all you land lovers - the ship is super stable and plenty of room to see the high seas from every angle. I don't think we could have picked a better place to watch the Islands 2021 fireworks show! I hope all you future pirates enjoy your tour as much as we did! AMAAAAARRRRICA!

I sailed with the scurviest rapscallions of the 7 seas! What talented actors on this day cruise! I am convinced to be a paid pirate entertainer aboard the Black Dragon must be the dream, and I'm ready to quit my day job. I can not say enough about this experience. From the moment we stepped foot on this pier, it was as if we had fell into our own Jack Sparrow adventure. We started out in the gift shop where we got decked out in pirate gear and found our weapons of choice. Then off to watch the talented acrobatic fire show (make sure to arrive early...you don't wanna miss this). Then we set sail, and the magic began. There is no way you could not enjoy this adventure that included sword fights, water gun fights, cannon blasts, fireworks, great food and drinks and booty...yes there is a treasure chest. This adventure is family friendly...so bring your Lil rapscallions if you like. The more the merrier! It will always be a pirate's life for me!

If you have kids, best pirate ship in town. I love how the staff/pirates are interactive with kids. It's a family friendly tour n kids will love it. Even for adults, they make it enjoyable from the moment you get in the ship until you leave. Even thou I didn't get to see the dolphin, it is totally worth it. Thumps up to the entertaining staff, they do a good job. Glad we went when it was not crowded and had A blast. For the price, check it out.

We had a great time! We are adults with no kids and this seemed like a good time that did not disappoint. Our pirates were excellent and played up a crowd that was kind of afternoon tired at the moment. They hyped everyone up, took pictures with the kids and adults, and made the experience feel personal giving everyone nicknames and pulling guests into the entertainment. We loved it so much my husband ran to the ATM at the bait shop because we felt the tip money we had on hand was insufficient!

Great fun for my whole crew! These pirates are very personable. Will definitely do this again. Fun for al ages .

The kids had a fun time. The Captain Crusher drink was enjoyable on the open seas, thanks to the pirate for fixing it up.

It's pretty cheap and you get an hour and a half out on the bay searching for dolphins and taking in the views. Parking is pretty accessible and you ride on Murphy's Law out to the bay. The boat is a bit older but clean and cared for. The captain narrates portions of the cruise to stay interactive but the workers make all the difference. They are extremely friendly and do a great job during the portion where they show off the wildlife they caught earlier that day. One of the biggest pros for us is that they were dog friendly, we couldn't believe it (our dog couldn't either but had a great time). We saw a few pods of dolphins, some in twos, others in fours. They don't stay above the water for long so we recommend being very ready to snap photos as soon as they break the surface. The workers will also go around asking if you would like them to take your photo which is a nice plus as well. Altogether, the experience was very fun. The only slight downside is that the heat really can get to you but prepare accordingly and you should be all set. You can also byob so that's pretty important to note. Definitely a tour we'd recommend checking out if you're in SPI.

The waiting space was okay but could use a little expansion because of the traffic from those purchasing tickets to those preparing to board. It was very chaotic. The young lady at the kiosk was friendly but we had to tell her that we needed out tickets. It seemed as if she just started working for the company and may not have known a lot about the cruise. Smaller groups should be allowed to board before larger groups. The tour guide was good but could use some coaching and being more vocal during the trip. In other words, he needs to say more about whatever spots may be of importance. The tour itself was interesting and fun but, we ended up on the second floor which meant that we were directly under the sun. It was super hot yet beautiful and seeing the dolphins was obviously the highlight of our day. My family and I enjoyed our cruise and it would've given them 5 stars if: 1) The tickets for the drinks was clear because it seemed that they were Disingenuous with their explanation. Explain how many tickets is needed for regular drinks versus alcoholic beverage would've been helpful. 2) Die to the scorching heat, adding a retractable covering for the top would be beneficial for the boat and most importantly for the passengers

Our experience with Breakaway Cruises was terrible and completely unprofessional…read more We arrived at 2:00 PM to schedule and pay for a 4:00 PM jet ski reservation for three jet skis for our group of six. We spent about 20 minutes completing paperwork and talking with Coral, who told us to be back by 3:45 PM. We left to change and returned at 3:35 PM, ready for our ride. Instead, Coral told us the 3:00 PM group had "just arrived late" and we'd now have to wait until 5:00 PM. That's completely unacceptable. Even if her story was true and they really were the 3:00 PM group, they were late. Breakaway Cruises should have canceled or delayed them--not us, who showed up on time and followed every instruction. On top of that, I overheard Coral speaking with the other group, and it didn't sound like they were late at all. It felt more like Breakaway Cruises was overbooking to make extra money and shifting people around to cover it up. I even heard Coral asking another group whether they had evening plans--more evidence of double-booking (her knowing they would make them wait past their scheduled time). We asked Coral to let us go as scheduled or cancel the other party. She claimed to agree with us but did nothing. She refused to let us speak with a manager. Instead, she offered us "inventory" jet skis that had been sitting in storage. Why should we get older, potentially less safe equipment when we did everything right? The other group should have been inconvenienced, not us (that is if they were really "late"). We ultimately left without riding because we didn't feel safe using equipment that might not have been recently serviced. Breakaway Cruises clearly doesn't care about customers' time, safety, or money. They're unethical, careless, and willing to lie or overbook to boost profits. I would absolutely not recommend them.

I had never experienced Bay fishing before I scheduled that first trip with Captain Clayton Mock; and what an exciting and different experience it is from what I was used to. First off, I was under the assumption that we might have to go out into deeper waters which made me a little nervous because of how choppy the ocean can get but it turns out you stay in between the Island and the mainland where the waters are almost always calm and perfect. There are also plenty of spots where you are fishing in only a few feet of water which allows you to see so many different kinds of marine life. Capt Clayton Mock has been fishing these waters since he was child so he knows all the best spots. Not only that but his equipment is topnotch; everything from the Rods, to the lures, to the Boat; I felt confident with all aspects of the trip. Now for the best part; catching fish. I couldn't believe how different this experience was from the fishing I was used to. It's definitely like nothing I had ever experienced. The Redfish put up a tremendous, yet manageable, fight. Every time you hook one you are in for a treat. And trust me, he put us on plenty of fish which gave us a lot of exciting moments. We also caught Trout which aren't as strong as the Redfish but they have some wicked front teeth and I even caught the crazy looking flounder (which can be tricky to do at times and honestly wouldn't have been possible without the direction and advice of Capt Clayton). I have been fishing with Captain Clayton Mock twice now, once with a friend and once with my dad, and both experiences were very enjoyable and very successful. I absolutely plan to go back because I really want to take my girlfriend. This is definitely a fishing trip that can be enjoyed by anyone. P.S. Heading out from the Marina as the sun rises is icing on the cake. It's so beautiful out there on the water so don't forget to take pictures and most importantly enjoy your day!!!!
