If you have ever considered martial arts for you or your family, this is the perfect school. I…read morehave been attending with my two children (ages 7 and 10) for two years and have never been dissappointed in the level, quality or professionalism of Mike Wilson, the owner and Master of the school. His ability to coach a still athletic adult with prior experience as well as a firebrand 10 year old boy and a shy 7 year old girl, all with the same alacrity. He is especially exceptional with kids and anyone interested in truly training for competing level MMA. Parents, you will love the way your kids are developed. This school emphasizes courtesy, honesty, respect, discipline and perseverance and commitment. Mr Mike Wilson's primary goal always seems to instill the values all parents wish for their children. I have trained in three styles at multiple schools - this is as good as they get. I trust Mr Wilson with the safety and education of my kids - what higher recommendation can a parent give? Cannot say enough good things about Master Mike and his school. My 8 year old has attended classes…read morefor about 1.5 years now and LOVES it. We tried another facility with good reviews prior and it just wasn't up to par. Master Mike knows how to control a class and have fun at the same time. He also coaches the children on real life scenarios and takes time to focus on building character - courtesy, honesty, respect for themselves and others, etc. Classes for adults as well!

In fact, Master Chong recommended we only try it out for a month and see how my son adjusts and/or enjoys it because of him being so young. I appreciated that because he understood that a three year old might not have the attention span to be disciplined during the lessons. My son did a little test with Master Chong before signing up to see if he could understand directions and follow through. Three lessons in and he's actually doing pretty well. I mainly started him in Tae Kwon Do so he could learn to listen, respect and focus. He's a bright child but all over the place and I see that the lessons have already started helping him. Since he is the smallest one in the class, the Masters have him usually paired up with an older, more experienced child to assist him and keep him on track. Sometimes, the masters themselves pair up with him which gives him even more undivided attention! Even though I don't live in Ellicott City, it's worth the drive there to attend the best Tae Kwon Do lessons from such caring and experienced Masters of the sport!

I've heard them say "not good", "too hard, lose weight", or make fun of children's hair or clothing. They admonish children who aren't old enough to drive, or are late because they are being tutored. They preach respect but are the most disrespectful men I've ever come across. waiting for our contract to be done then we are gone. Literally go anywhere but here.

We've been going to JS TKD for several months now, and I've been waiting to write a review…read more Master Andrew is provides a perfect balance of kindness and structure for the kids to learn the principles of TKD. My son struggles with paying attention in school, but here he loves "focusing" and learning new techniques. It's the right balance of challenge and accomplishment. The facility is nice enough, there is enough room for all the kids to spread out. Class sizes are around 12-15, which is perfect. Belt progression is not guaranteed, and belt testing is serious. Master Andrew trains his students to be competitive and many do participate in state and national competitions, but we're only white belt, so a ways to go still. If you're looking for a family-friendly, flexible, fun and competitive environment, this is the place.

The Master (surprisingly) was young, but after one trial class, my 7 year old daughter was hooked. She loved how Master Andrew made classes fun, entertaining, and filled with laughter, but also included times for serious learning accordingly. He understands if the kids are having a difficult time with certain forms, but continues to encourage them which helps give them that push to continue, rather than to quit. This dojo is also run by the most family-oriented family, whom (from what I've seen) all remembers each students and their families names. They are constantly sanitizing and keeping the place clean. Yes, even before covid hit. 4 years later, my daughter who started out as a no belt, holds a second degree black belt. Thank you to Master Andrew and Master Yang for having superb positive teaching values for the children.

Meaning, I had come across numerous TKD schools, watched instructions of lots of different masters, and experienced different atmosphere of each school and students. And, of course, I've called and visited several TKD schools around Quantico after we moved to the area, and I am absolutely thrilled to have found Master Im for my son!! I did find a few TKD schools offering a little less tuition but required 2 or 3 years of contract. However, Master Im was MOST FLEXIBLE with tuition payment plan out of all the schools I've contacted, and I am definitely confident that Master Im's TKD PHILOSOPHY and SKILLS are superbly high and strong that it surely justifies his tuition rate without a doubt (If you are ONLY concerned about cheap tuition, this may not be a good school for you). His instructions are HIGHLY DISCIPLINED, MOTIVATING, STRICT, and very ORTHODOX (I say "orthodox" because I trained in Korea when I was young, and I know how it's done in Korea), yet humorous and accommodating enough for students to be fully engaged with TKD and have great fun at the same time. If you are looking for a TKD school, I highly suggest that you visit each school's "Black Belt Class" even if you (or your kids) are not yet a black belt and watch what the school has to offer to their best students in action. And I'm sure many will agree that Master Im and his students are among the best in the area.

Authentic Korean Martial Arts taught by Kukiwon-certified Masters…read more We tried several places in Stafford/Fredericksburg, but were turned off by their teaching methods--many of them were just black-belt factories and gave belts to anyone with $45. We wanted a real program and one that was certified by the governing Korean TKD body (Kukiwon). This is the best TKD and Hapkido schools in the area--both of my sons attend here and love Master Lee and his instructors--they make it fun but do not cut corners...it is tough, but real.
