But then I found Paul Jones at Brighton Driving lessons, and passed 1st time!!! Paul was very patient with me and always filled me with confidence. He explained the rules of the road in a way I could understand and I didn't feel there was a "stupid" question I could ask. Even though I was really worried about driving at the start, I quickly felt at ease driving and always felt supported every step of the way. The great chat in the car made learning to drive fun! I always felt that they were great value for money as my instructor would never make me do a lesson if I wasn't gonna learn anything from it. Doug guided me from complete beginner to passing my test last week. He is very patient and always…read moreon your side. He gives crystal clear instructions and explanations while also being very responsive to your individual profile as a learner. He is also interested in teaching you to drive properly -- not just for the test, but beyond. He was also very flexible with timings, especially pulling out all the stops to give me extra lessons as I approached my test to maximise my chances. Finally, there's never a dull moment in the car -- every lesson doubled up as a fun and informative conversation (which also gives you practice for the real world if you're planning to transport other people). I recommend Doug highly for anyone who wants to become a safe and confident driver.

I had a tricky schedule and limited…read moreavailability which I was clear about when having the initial phone consultation but was assured this wouldn't be an issue and my needs would be met. I would give my availability at least 2 or 3 weeks in advance as I thought lessons were booked slightly in advance but I was quite often messaged the day before a lesson which sometimes i was unable to do due to such short notice. Spent a considerable amount of time and money on lessons (22hrs) but felt I wasn't making much progress as it was very rare I was allowed to drive independently without a hand on the wheel or even pulling up to the left and securing the vehicle but I put it down to being a nervous driver and just assumed I needed more practice. AK informed me he was going away for 3 weeks at the end of July and would be quite busy the week after returning. I understood his busy schedule and said I would practice in my partners car until he returned from his holiday as my test was booked for the start of November so i didnt want to lose the progress i had made. At this point AK then suggested I got a 2nd instructor for the few weeks he was away , which in hindsight , I should of taken as a hint but at the time I didn't. I also wasn't keen to start with another instructor as I know all instructors teach in different ways so didn't want to recieve conflicting information so thought it best just to stick with AK. As time went on it became very apparent AK had absolutely no intention of carrying on with my lessons , as to this day I have recieved no further contact from him which I find extremely unprofessional as AK is fully aware I had initially booked my test for November 4th at Burgess Hill as he specified that was the only test centre he takes students to. Fortunately for me , I was able to find a new instructor whom helped work through my nerves and after a couple of lessons reassured me I was test ready. Therefore we brought my test forward and I have been passed for a little while now. Regards
