Sunset over kayak
Laura S.

We went on the Sunset Kayaking with Bioluminescence tour tonight with Jay & Gabe as our guides. Both were great & Jay was awesome leading us around to see different fish, plants, trees, birds, & other animals including manatees when it was light out. We heard black drum fish mating calls - and that was wild! You could feel the reverberations in the kayak - so cool! We saw a beautiful sunset too! Then went to shore for an opportunity to stretch our legs & I didn't know how much I needed that until I was out of the kayak - it was a welcome stop! We added a few more kayaks onto our group and went back out to check out the bioluminescence. I'm glad the email they sent included what to bring & wear - we read it & it was very helpful! The weather tonight was amazing & Jay taught us how to move the paddles to see the plankton dino bioluminescence and bioluminescent comb jellies - we were lucky & saw both! We got to hold a comb jelly & see them in a bowl to see them up close & their iridescence. Such a once in a lifetime experience - we were so excited! So many stars out tonight too! Jay pointed out several formations - he's knowledgeable about so much! We appreciated this longer tour & would highly recommend it! We would also do this again on a future trip & will tell our friends about it. Truly a 'can't miss' experience! Thank you BK Adventure - so glad we chose you too do this with us!

Well organized night time kayaking! Fantastic and caring staff as well as great/safe equipment. We had a blast to say the least! Highly recommended!

This is just a small portion of the bites I received while the instructed showed a total disregard for our health

I don't care what the website says about the bugs it's disrespectful to your customers to bring them out there for what is supposed to be a good time. I've been sick for 3 days for the bug bites. I know you're going to see this and your first instinct is to write a disingenuous apology but nothing short of a full refund can make this right

Tldr: This company was awesome, Kyle and Logan were amazing guides, bring baby oil and big spray. For a more in-depth review, read below. This company offers a variety of adventure options depending on what you want. They do night time bioluminescence adventures which are about an hour and a half long as well as a 3-hour sunset excursion which also includes the night time by luminescence excursion. I strongly recommend this one as it's not much more expensive in price (about $15 more per person ) and doubles your time on the water. I went last night and had an fantastic time. This excursion starts at a lagoon on the other side of Titusville and has a really unique overlook of Cape Canaveral. Upon arrival, you'll see signs for BK Adventure that will guide you to the registration desk. When it's time for your excursion, your tour guides will assemble you into groups and issue you your equipment (flotation vest equipped with lights and a whistle, paddle) and go over a quick safety instruction. After that you are loaded onto your kayaks. These are tandem kayaks so they will be two to a kayak but they are roomy. For my excursion specifically, they will take you down the West Indian River where you will get to see manatees feeding before bed as well as other wildlife in the area. If you're lucky, you'll also get to see dolphins. One major disclaimer that the tour guides explain before starting the excursion is that nature is unpredictable and nothing is guaranteed so don't expect to see everything that is advertised. The website explains this as well. After watching the manatees and dolphins, you're taken to another part of the lagoon where you will get to watch the sunset. The guides are available to take any pictures of your crew should you want it. After the sunset ends, you'll go back to the starting point and will take about a 15 to 20 minute break to shake your legs off and have a snack while the sun finishes going down. After that, you'll reload back into your kayaks to begin the bioluminescence excursion. You'll go back to where you originally saw the manatees but you'll now start seeing when you paddle that the water starts looking cloudy. That's the bioluminescence. You'll be taken to some darker areas where you can see them a little bit better as well as bioluminescence jellies if they're still on season. If you're lucky you'll be able to see fish swimming around which makes the water light up as well. Though you can take pictures, it is rather difficult because the bioluminescence are very dim so unless you are coming with a very good camera or your phone has a good camera and you are very knowledgeable the settings, and don't expect to take any good pictures of the bioluminescence. The pictures you see online are typically strongly edited and are not accurate as to what you want to actually see. The experience though is still very unique. Kyle and Logan were our tour guides and did an absolute fantastic job. Kyle was extremely nice and knowledgeable to a point where I thought he was also a conservation officer with the amount of knowledge that he had about the wildlife and everything in the area. Logan was extremely helpful as well and among the most courteous people I've ever met. Be sure to pack with you some bug spray and baby oil. There are plenty of bugs out there that will make you itchy. The bug spray is mainly for the mosquitoes while the baby oil is for the smaller bugs. According to one of the guides, the baby oil acts as a protective barrier. Because the bugs are so small they can't penetrate through the oil barrier. This will help make the overall experience better so you're not itching the entire trip. The overall experience I'd rate a solid 20 out of 10 and will absolutely be back when I'm in the area. Hopefully it's also with Kyle and Logan.

A group of us booked the Bioluminescence Kayak trip . Our tour guide was Chris. He was nice and accommodating. Explained something around the lake. You get 2 hours around the lake. Everyone is supplied with life vest, and must sign a release waiver. We had lots of fun. By chance we caught the space shuttle going up, while we were in the water, a real unexpected thrill!!!

Fun activity if looking for something to do in the Titusville area! My husband and I did the bioluminescent comb jelly fish tour as it was the only tour we could find with clear kayaks! You will get WET! Definitely recommend wearing flip flops (your tennis shoes will get soaked cuz you step in the water to get launched) and bringing a towel for your car ride home. Overall fun tour and very unique.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more The Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Tour (which I will shorthand simply to the Lighthouse Tour) has been one of those "backyard adventures" I've been wanting to go on for the longest time. Eventually, I was able to partake in said adventure with my friends, Nate and Chops. Afterwards, I have to say that even for a probably "one-and-done" for a tour, it is definitely worth every penny spent. This tour was everything I wanted and loved, and it delivered. First and foremost, the actual business building for the Lighthouse Tour is nothing you have to worry about. According to all the tours, you will meet up at the Sands Space Museum and take a charter van to multiple locales on the tour. Before we get to the actual tour I partook in, it should be noted there are numerous tour options such as the museums alone, the lighthouse alone, or the full experience. Prices range from $35 (lighthouse only) to $65 (full tour). I went with the latter which includes numerous museums, historic launch sites, and the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse. It should also be noted that the more you do, the longer the tour. The full tour is four hours long. Please take note the things you need to check before the tour such as wearing shoes if you plan to walk up the five floors of the lighthouse, small bags allowed with small closed-contained foods and drinks only. Finally, you need to fill out a clearance check as all the stops, with the exception of Sands Space Museum, is on the Cape Canaveral Air Force Military Base. With those in mind, the full tour - known as the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse and Space Flight Tour - is all the stops if possible. I say "if possible" because some stops may be closed for maintenance or upgrades. For us, The Sands Space Museum, where the tour stars, was closed for renovation. However, the museum is free and not on protected property so I can go back and check it out. We visited four different launch sites, three museums, and the Cape Canaveral lighthouse. I personally loved the lighthouse and Hanger "A" which housed some of the larger historic rockets and jets that have helped bring NASA and the U.S. military where it is now. I personally was surprised that the first drone was used as target practice. I can't really detail everything I saw or this would become one my longest reviews, longer than I usually do. Just know that, like I said earlier in the review, for a possible one-and-done, it is worth every penny. However, if you really want to make sure the tour is a one-and-done, pay for the full tour. You'll have enough time to visit everything within the four hours, and if anything is closed, they'll take you to the Canaveral National Seashore, which was amazing because it is literally almost "untouched" by tourism. I will give this tour four out of five stars. I am not going to say consistency will earn the fifth star because only a super fan will take this tour numerous times... or work for the tour company. I will say that the lacking star has to do with the price. It can be high overall especially if stops are closed for some reason.

Great experience an excellent adventure for all in the family. Make sure add to you agenda.read more

She was incredibly knowledgeable, easygoing, and made the whole tour feel relaxed and fun. We saw so many incredible things throughout the trip. There were bioluminescence cone jellies, bioluminescent dinoflagellates ("dinos"), birds, a gator, and several manatees. The highlight was getting to see a mama manatee and her baby. It was such a special moment. Brandi shared so much interesting information along the way and had the perfect go-with-the-flow attitude that made the whole experience even better. You could really tell she loves what she does and cares about the environment and the wildlife. My husband and I enjoyed the tour so much that we both said on the way back that when we have kids someday, we want to come back and do this tour again with them. Thank you, Brandi, for helping make our honeymoon even more perfect. It was an amazing experience and we learned so much.
