Rock and Emily were great guides! We had a blast and learned a lot. This is a 10/10 experience. We went on the bioluminescent clear kayak tour at 8:15 pm on a Saturday. Everything was organized and went smoothly. I really wish it lasted longer but that's just me. The water is shallow so don't stress that it's 10 ft deep. Our paddle could touch the bottom. We did bring bug spray and wore long pants at shirts. Neither of us had any bites. Such a great experience and I'll definitely return for another tour. read more

We went on the Sunset Kayaking with Bioluminescence tour tonight with Jay & Gabe as our guides. Both were great & Jay was awesome leading us around to see different fish, plants, trees, birds, & other animals including manatees when it was light out. We heard black drum fish mating calls - and that was wild! You could feel the reverberations in the kayak - so cool! We saw a beautiful sunset too! Then went to shore for an opportunity to stretch our legs & I didn't know how much I needed that until I was out of the kayak - it was a welcome stop! We added a few more kayaks onto our group and went back out to check out the bioluminescence. I'm glad the email they sent included what to bring & wear - we read it & it was very helpful! The weather tonight was amazing & Jay taught us how to move the paddles to see the plankton dino bioluminescence and bioluminescent comb jellies - we were lucky & saw both! We got to hold a comb jelly & see them in a bowl to see them up close & their iridescence. Such a once in a lifetime experience - we were so excited! So many stars out tonight too! Jay pointed out several formations - he's knowledgeable about so much! We appreciated this longer tour & would highly recommend it! Theres a HUGE gap between expectation and reality, we went in December and we called to confirm if it's going to be bright, they said yes. I did understand that it's not going to be the same as in summer, but don't expect NO GLOW WHATSOEVER. The guides were nice and they were actually trying hard to make the situation right by catching each of us the jellyfish and answering all of the questions, but if there's no glow in winter, why not just make the tours in summer only?! There was no mention in the website that there won't be any bioluminescence, and the picture has it as if there will be at least some glowing. Just not worth coming in, we've wasted 150$ for nothing read more

I was really excited about the bioluminescence tour and was not let down! Watching the water light up at night as you kayak under the night sky is magical! I never knew this was available in FL and was thrilled to have the experience! Our tour guides Jay and Marcel, made this a a memorable experience! They shared facts, kept us engaged, shared some laughs and made it an interesting! We signed up for the 10:30 pm tour and met at the Kiwanis Park. It was a safe location close to our hotel. The Kayaks were 2 person and clear so you can see water glow around and below you, which enhances the fun! There were 10 kayaks that went out with us, which was a nice size group not too large. BK Adventure provided life jackets and it was nice they had mosquito repellent they shared and did not charge extra money for. It was a perfect night on the water as were saw shooting stars on our tour!! I would encourage you to try this for yourself and bring some cash to tip the guides! The bioluminescence part was very cool, the tour guides were very knowledgeable. The tour itself was confusing. Also there are tons of mosquitoes here. The sunset part of the tour is nice, we got to see some manatees. The tour group is a little big and it's easy to bump into others because the way the current is going and the tour guide is going is two different directions most of the time. We came back to shore after sunset and took a break before the bioluminescence part of the tour. This is where it got confusing. There were lots of groups around, some with the same BK Adventure company and had the same type of lights and kayaks, all leaving around the same time, and it was dark and hard to see. When we were going back into the kayak for the bioluminescence part of the tour, we were told twice by one of our tour guides and another BK Adventures employee we met during check in to go towards the two blinking lights at the end once we get in the boat. We start going towards that direction with what looks like our group, again it's dark, we can't see. And then we hear our tour guide behind us instead of in the group in front and we turn back around. Luckily, one of the tour guides helped us back. We stayed with the group the rest of the time, but this time, the group got broken into two smaller groups because the tour guide in the lead was going too fast. We were with the first half one time and the second half another time. Again, luckily, the tour guide in the back helped bring the second half of the group to the first half each time. Personally, I was very stressed, I wouldn't go back again and wouldn't recommend it. read more

Our tour guide was Josh. He was fun and knowledgeable. Our family of 5 did the 10pm raft tour at Kiwanis Park. I was SO thankful that had that option. There was no way I was getting in a kayak. Josh made sure we were secure in our life vests and knew what tools we had available. He talked about all sorts of wildlife that was in the area and the bioluminescence we were there to see. The information they sent out was helpful. It let us know what to expect. It's outside. It's night. It's a lagoon type area. There are bugs. My son reacts to any bite he gets, but he really wanted to go on this tour. We covered ourselves with insect repellent and Skin So Soft and only got a couple of bites. I do think the tour was shorter than advertised. Not by a lot, but enough it was noticeable. I wish the directions were a little clearer. They said to drive to where you can't drive anymore. I get anxious driving new places. I should have planned to leave even earlier than I did (we were still 15 minutes ahead of the time). It was dark and I was in a place I didn't know, so as I'm driving in, I saw a truck with their name/logo on it, but it wasn't all the way down. I called in a panic trying to figure out where to go. I paid a lot of money and didn't want to miss it. The person on the other end of the phone probably thought I was crazy, but she was really nice and told me that wherever the trucks were would be where they were. Sure enough she was right. All in all, we enjoyed our tour, and as previously stated, liked our guide, Josh. read more

Tldr: This company was awesome, Kyle and Logan were amazing guides, bring baby oil and big spray. For a more in-depth review, read below. This company offers a variety of adventure options depending on what you want. They do night time bioluminescence adventures which are about an hour and a half long as well as a 3-hour sunset excursion which also includes the night time by luminescence excursion. I strongly recommend this one as it's not much more expensive in price (about $15 more per person ) and doubles your time on the water. I went last night and had an fantastic time. This excursion starts at a lagoon on the other side of Titusville and has a really unique overlook of Cape Canaveral. Upon arrival, you'll see signs for BK Adventure that will guide you to the registration desk. When it's time for your excursion, your tour guides will assemble you into groups and issue you your equipment (flotation vest equipped with lights and a whistle, paddle) and go over a quick safety instruction. After that you are loaded onto your kayaks. These are tandem kayaks so they will be two to a kayak but they are roomy. For my excursion specifically, they will take you down the West Indian River where you will get to see manatees feeding before bed as well as other wildlife in the area. If you're lucky, you'll also get to see dolphins. One major disclaimer that the tour guides explain before starting the excursion is that nature is unpredictable and nothing is guaranteed so don't expect to see everything that is advertised. The website explains this as well. After watching the manatees and dolphins, you're taken to another part of the lagoon where you will get to watch the sunset. The guides are available to take any pictures of your crew should you want it. After the sunset ends, you'll go back to the starting point and will take about a 15 to 20 minute break to shake your legs off and have a snack while the sun finishes going down. After that, you'll reload back into your kayaks to begin the bioluminescence excursion. You'll go back to where you originally saw the manatees but you'll now start seeing when you paddle that the water starts looking cloudy. That's the bioluminescence. You'll be taken to some darker areas where you can see them a little bit better as well as bioluminescence jellies if they're still on season. If you're lucky you'll be able to see fish swimming around which makes the water light up as well. Though you can take pictures, it is rather difficult because the bioluminescence are very dim so unless you are coming with a very good camera or your phone has a good camera and you are very knowledgeable the settings, and don't expect to take any good pictures of the bioluminescence. The pictures you see online are typically strongly edited and are not accurate as to what you want to actually see. The experience though is still very unique. Kyle and Logan were our tour guides and did an absolute fantastic job. Kyle was extremely nice and knowledgeable to a point where I thought he was also a conservation officer with the amount of knowledge that he had about the wildlife and everything in the area. Logan was extremely helpful as well and among the most courteous people I've ever met. Be sure to pack with you some bug spray and baby oil. There are plenty of bugs out there that will make you itchy. The bug spray is mainly for the mosquitoes while the baby oil is for the smaller bugs. According to one of the guides, the baby oil acts as a protective barrier. Because the bugs are so small they can't penetrate through the oil barrier. This will help make the overall experience better so you're not itching the entire trip. The overall experience I'd rate a solid 20 out of 10 and will absolutely be back when I'm in the area. First the bio imminence was awesome However the actual tour group is not the best. Disappointed that you sit in a see through canoe you call it a kayak but it's a canoe. They give you I'll fiiting life vest try to convince you that they fit So keep asking until you do get one that fits. You get a bright light to blink in your eyes for the entire trip. The trip goes to an island where if you desire to get out and play in the water you can. I would personally suggest enjoying the light show in the canoe go towards the mangrove area and see the fish Jump and run much more of a light show that way So if you want a clear canoe to go across the Indian river lagoon to stop at an island for 30 minutes then you'll be happy. If you want to experience and explore bioluminescence this maybe not the best. read more

Awesome experience out on the water with our guide (can't remember his name but started with a K). This was our first time rafting at night to see the bioluminescence. We had the raft all to ourselves as a family which was really nice. We learned so much and even got to see a dolphin at the beginning of the tour. This was such a cool experience and I'm glad we did it. One thing to note - take the instructions about long pants and sleeves to heart. There were some people that were eaten alive by the mosquitoes. Recommend you bathe in bug spray before beginning your adventure. Otherwise, highly recommend this experience! read more

The bioluminescence was the saving grace of this tour, the tour itself was not organized. We showed up at 8:30 for a tour start of 8:45 and didn't get out onto the water until 9:25 - the tour is supposed to be 1.5 hours. Our tour ended up being about an hour because we had to go back in for the next tour. Our tour guide mentioned that our life vests had whistles but said they were cleaned every night, not after every tour (not sure if this was a joke but it made me not want to use my whistle). One of our tour guides was very knowledgeable about the bioluminescence, but the other guide talked non-stop and it would've been nice to have some peaceful time out on the water. The bioluminescence was great - but I think I would rather invest in a kayak than do this tour again! read more

What an incredible experience! Not only did we experience the bioluminescence at varying levels of brightness, but we also got to see and hear dolphins nearby while on our tour. Kamary was a patient, gracious guide with our group, which included younger children and adults with zero rafting experience. Definitely don't let not knowing how you'll do hold you back! We learned more about the local area, NASA center, and the flora and fauna within the wildlife refuge. It was evident that our guide was passionate about the area, wildlife, and giving tours, which really added to our time. So cool to be able to be on the refuge after hours and look out for nocturnal animals. Only downside is that the bugs are definitely present and aggressive. My recommendation is long sleeves and pants, socks and shoes or boots and make sure to bring a strong bug spray with you. Better to be hot than bit up. read more

Loved our experience with BK Adventure and our guides Jungle Jay and Savannah! My husband and I went night kayaking at 8-930pm this November. The drive out to this place feels far/long because it's dark and secluded, however the kayaking was beautiful and magical and we got lucky and the bioluminescence were vibrant - like a galaxy lit up underneath our kayak - we also saw a couple of the jelly ones, heard the black drum fish, and saw a shooting star. The night sky was one of our favorites because it was filled with stars. Since it was November, we were also lucky where the mosquitoes weren't so busy in the chill air (66-70 degrees) - if you go in the summer you're likely to encounter the mosquito bites. We had a great time, our tour guide Jay was very warm, engaging, and informative, both of them made us feel safe in the dark waters. We had a nice small group of 6 people total. This place is so bad it borders on comical. First, we arrived at 8 pm for an evening boat tour. Our highly incompetent and excessively young "guide" tried hard to be funny - he wasn't. Fake enthusiasm, which is ok, but it went downhill from there. After the boring safety briefing (which we were eaten alive at by mosquitos), we walk our family of young kids to the "boat" - which is just an inflatable dinghy. Turns out it had a hole in it. It's now 9 pm and the kids are tired, still haven't stepped into boat. Guide goes running to the rig and comes back with a $2 foot pump you get when you buy an inflatable pool toy! He was obviously unable to make a dent in the punctured boat, so they just argued with us about how they don't do refunds. Offered a rain check, which we certainly wouldn't bestow on our worst enemy. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

The Bioluminescence kayak tour is so very cool! Our group of 8 took an 8:30pm to 10:30pm tour from Haulover Canal. Amazing evening. It had its moments of adventure, with tougher than expected water, but overall it was exhilarating. Shout it to our guide John. He worked extra hard to keep us all wrangled together as your group. Along with our 8 where additional guests, all of various degrees of experience and skill in a kayak. As I mentioned earlier, the water was rough with a strong current. Getting started was tough. As soon as you launched, the current would drag you out and down the canal. Be prepared for complete darkness, and a fair number of mosquitoes. We had bug prepare with our spray, BK Adventure also has some there. They provided life vests with a light, flash light and whistle (just in case). The water was actually not all that deep. If we tipped over, I could have easily just stood up. But we had no incidents. Be warned, read your driving directions carefully before going. It's easy to end up at their office and not the launch site. We made that mistake, but found our way by relooking at the directions. It's s great way to spend an evening. Stars shine overhead in abundance, so quiet, and the bioluminescence appears like tiny fireworks in the water. A magical experience. read more
