As you can see by other reviews, new owners are bullying (which they coach against?) people due to "agreements" signed. We signed those with coach Austin, not the new ownership group. Gave them an opportunity via multiple emails to do the right thing, but they refused and still attempted to charge me after I made my intentions clear. After some issues with another martial arts school in the area, it was time to take a look to see…read morewhat would be the best situation for our son. We tried a couple of the schools, but Warrior was the most accomodating and really tried to help him over what had happened previously and to make him feel a part of the Warrior family. I've found that they have the best balance between "stand up" training and "on the ground" work, done in a safe, controlled environment, with great instructors who really work with the kids to create a positive environment. The training includes an emphasis on respect, not only for the instructors at the academy, but for parents, school teachers and their peers, helping them to become "bully proof" without becoming bullies themselves. Additionally, parents can train for free, in classes set up for them. My wife participates in the stand up and grappling classes. You'd be hard pressed to find a place with a better set of instructors (the new McKinney instructor is a BJJ master from Brazil).

Dan A. McKinney, TX…read more Jan 6, 2024 I began training with Professor Inacio and his most excellent coaches when I had accumulated 68.5 years of mileage in life. That ain't as big a number as it may sound like. I was surprised that my wife for those decades was supportive of my beginning at such a school. I assumed then that her enthusiasm had something to do with a large life insurance policy on me that was in effect at that time, 2.5 years ago. The policy is lapsed, and she is still supportive, so maybe not. I am not a fast learner in this domain, but I am a learner. Sometimes I can even coach a move or two with my workout partners. Usually, I'm the hapless nail, rarely the hammer. This is not a bad thing. It is necessary. The people who show up and continue to show up to train seem to me to define a psychographic group that is a group that you benefit by being close to. Do hard things and keep doing them. Then do them some more. Then do them some more. Special people congregate here. Right here. Things change while practicing this discipline. For me, positively but slowly. For normal people, positively but much more quickly. This is the place to train and to get as effective as situations may require you to be later.
