I needed a tree service because, due to hurricane season on us, I had 3 trees that were a direct threat to a cottage and a shop. Toby & April Latiolas of "L and L Tree Service" gave me an estimate of $5,000 taking $1,500 down and the balance at the satisfied end of the work. The very next day, they did NOT come but sent me a request for $500 extra by Zelle. According to their contact, I wasn't to pay anything until the job was finished so I said "No". They kept on asking and asking and I kept saying "No". Within a day or two more (without them coming but continuing to ask for money) I had read his YELP reviews, checked the BBB and gone to the Sheriff's office about them. They are definitely SCAMMERS! I drove 40 miles round trip to speak to a man they had scammed. Two sets of his neighbors verified it to be true. On my way home, a rain storm started. It was pouring rain and lightning and thundering. As I drove into my driveway, there they were cutting up a bit of tree. As soon as I got out of my car, April Latiolais approached me for more money and I cited the contract. She walked over and told Toby who immediately started packing up his little chainsaw to leave. Then they sat in my driveway sending text after text after text insisting that I fork over more money. They said they needed to get their bobcat out of the shop, they needed a muffler for their truck, they needed to pay their help, etc. They were so insistent that when one of my friends stopped by, I told him what was going on. He went out and told them they had to leave. They said they couldn't and wouldn't leave until I paid them more money. My fiend happened to be a retired state trooper. He made them leave. For two days and until I finally blocked them, they sent me harassing texts saying what they were going to do to me. Then I told THEM what the Sheriff's Department said they were going to do to Toby and April. THEY ARE SCAMMERS! YELP didn't believe that these photos were from my yard and said they were going to take my photos down; thereby, aiding and abetting these SCAMMERS. Can you believe that! I can send them my photo roll. ALL of these photos are from my yard. I guess it was left in such a terrible condition that even YELP didn't want to believe it!

I gave them $1,000 up front cash. Toby said that his crew would be out that afternoon; they never showed up. I have never seen people vanish so quickly from a job site. They stole my $1,000 and caused me $300 worth of property damage. They were hired on the assumption that they were insured. They were not insured and falsified insurance documents. I have the insurance document that they falsified and I also contacted Mr Jade Leger of Complete Insurance out of Broussard Louisiana and he gave me a statement saying that they stole money from him also. I will be taking them to City Court Franklin Louisiana. These two people April and Toby Latiolias owners of L and L Tree Service physical address 104 St Louis Street Loreauville Louisiana 70552 have to be put out of business, these are some evil people that have caused a lot of pain with other people also when I research them on Yelp. The neighbors whose yard the tree was growing in FINALLY agreed to have it cut down completely and had chosen Ferguson's Tree Care to do the job. However due to the way the tree was growing, they needed access through my yard as most of the tree was growing over my fence and leaning into my property. Having had a lot of problems with Entergy's chosen tree companies damaging my driveway by bringing in huge cherry picker machines/trucks over the years due to power outages caused by this tree, I was very concerned as to what kind of equipment this company would be using before giving them access to my driveway and backyard to cut down this problem tree. Mr Carl Ferguson who is the owner of this company was very professional and explained what type of equipment they utilized which wouldn't cause damage to my new driveway and/or backyard lawn since they would have to come way into my backyard up to the fence line to cut down at least the top half of the tree leaning over onto my property line. Once they had it cut back enough they would then go into the neighbor's yard to cut it down to the ground. Mr Carl explained that they have large heavy duty pads they put over the grass to help with weight distribution of the equipment. As promised he brought in equipment that was large enough to do the job, but not so large as to damage my new driveway or lawn. His crew arrived promptly early in the morning, with lots of workers and equipment to do the job. Since he was already going to be on my side of the yard to chop down the top half of my neighbor's tree infringing on my property, I negotiated a price with Mr Carl to also cut down 2 small dead trees on MY property and also some minor tree trimming to take advantage of his crew while on site for the neighbor's tree issue. His price for my share of the work on my property side was reasonable. I was extremely pleased with the work that they performed and the workman did not twiddle their thumbs...they all worked hard, quickly and professionally. Did a wonderful job of cleaning up too. Blew off my cement areas that had debris and did a great job of raking and collecting all the little leaves and branches that were left on the green spaces. Of course all the big pieces of the tree were also hauled off as well. Definitely recommend Carl Ferguson's Tree service.
