Review update. The last time Avelyn did my lashes a few months ago in July, they started to fall out after only a few days. She rudely told me my natural lashes were unhealthy during this appointment, which is not her fault of course. She didn't offer any further advice about what the problem was, and i was not able to determine based on her statement whether my unhealthy lashes were the problem why my lashes fell out so quickly afterwards, or her rushed work was the reason. Lashes that used to take a full hour and 15 mins to complete now took her less than 1 hour. Coincidental? Maybe not. Her prices have gone up exponentially as well which I understand, as everything has, but the quality of her work and her customer service is not the same. I understand Avelyn has built quite a clientele by now (since the 4 years since I went to her first), but rushing and treating your long term clients rudely is not right either. During my final appointment, I tried to make small talk, ask her how she was etc (just like I used to) and she was very short with me and her answers, and I felt as if she just wanted me to shut up... I have never encountered such eyelash connoisseurs as I did at PMU BIVA! These artists put SO much care into their work. I got my lashes done with Julie and I couldn't be happier. I've never learned so much about my lashes and how they compliment my face. We started with face-mapping and it was fascinating. They took a photo of my face/eyes, and were able to use a program to measure my eye distance, eyelid level, asymmetry, eye curve, etc. Then they were able to show me a preview of how each lash extension style would fit my eyes, unique to my eye shape. I had initially thought that cat-eye (which everyone seems to like) would look best on me, but I was actually able to see firsthand on their program that the open-eye lash style would enhance my small eyes best. Julie was extremely meticulous during the session and very friendly. At the end, her boss even came by to check to make sure everything was perfect. And I mean PERFECT. Each lash had to be in the right spot- nothing was left unchecked. One thing that is really interesting when you have your eyes closed for so long, is that your world becomes really sensitive. You're relying on those around you in an almost intimate sense, to know what's going on. I felt really comfortable and cared for with these women the entire time. Once the session was finished, they had put a skincare treatment under my eyes and used a tool to massage my eye area. It was awesome. They also had a little misting fan which really felt great on my eyes as I opened them. I think the best part was that when I saw my lashes, they were so gorgeous! It's funny how you lay there with your eyes closed, not knowing what's going on, and then you open them to see such a beautiful result. The lashes were soft, cashmere extensions, and they just opened up my eyes so much. Every lash was place perfectly. Julie and Avelyn made me feel so pretty, as they were telling me that my eyes were so gorgeous and that I looked like a mermaid. I was really flattered and heart-warmed that they made me feel so beautiful and important. I forgot that about myself. It was fun to feel like a doll that they were admiring and adorning ha. Before I left, they gave me a cute little crystal spoolie to brush my lashes, recommended supplements for lash health, and went over aftercare, which they sent me afterwards. So I made an appointment with her right away and she responded me quickly. When I arrived her shop, I loved the atmosphere, plus, it was very clean and well sanitized. She applied a numbing cream before and while coloring the lips.
