Rooms were just ok, a bit on the smaller side and a bit stuffy feeling with the decor but you're basically right in the middle of Istanbul. With Taksim Square just a stone's throw away, and if you're high up enough and on the right side of the building, you'll get your own personal view of the protests and riots below.
Alas, I literally left the city the day before the protests got violent and actually had asked my tour guide to take me back to no avail because as a semi-professional photographer and part-time crazy person, this is the type of adventure I live for.
There're a few decent places to eat around here but a lot of terrible places too so be careful. Also, there's crazy construction that's happening all over Istanbul so getting anywhere by car, bus, taxi is going to be a bitch. read more
