I was incredulous as I have been to 10+ burger places in Quebec City and new england and NONE have ever told me I couldn't customize. I asked her to check on that and five seconds later she was back with "no customization" again. At this point, I was disgusted with the menu (which the bison burger is smothered under 5 very heavy and unhealthy toppings) and the nasty waitress' attitude. Dear Cafe Bla bla: What do you do if someone is allergic to one topping on the burger you want? Do you simply parrot: "No customization" and watch good cash-paying customers walk out the door? I guess you do. Because that is what my friend and I did. We left. Dear Cafe Bla Bla management: Please learn that the customer has a right to a dish cooked their way. You are not McD and your prices reflect such. If I'm going to pay $12+ for a stupid burger, I should have it the way I want it. And please FIRE the little witch of a waitress that was working there. It was for me!…read more At first I wasn't sure I had found the right building, because there aren't any signs outside that say cat cafe, and the old sign above the door says it's a clothing store. Also, the door was locked but a sign in French said to ring the doorbell and wait to be admitted. It makes sense to keep the door locked so the kitties don't run outside when the door opens. A friendly Volunteer let us in, welcomed us, and explained the rules of the cafe and mission of the animal rescue. She was fluent in French and English. It was fun to drink coffee and eat a croissant here because cats are walking everywhere, jumping on visitors' laps and tables, and generally being curious and playful. I counted at least a dozen different cats and probably missed a bunch in my count because they were sleeping in hidden places. Every single one was a beautiful creature. I am happy that this fantastic rescue group of volunteers has given them all a great life and a chance to be adopted into a forever home.
