I was a tad nervous going into my appointment…read more Had neglected checkups for 20 + years. Was in their area working, away from home. Came across an issue could no longer ignore and looked up dentists in the area, made an appointment for the next day. Was amazed how simple and easy they made the insurance. In 6 + years with company hadn't used insurance. Work remote, travel construction away from the corporate office and HR. Looked up my benefits on our system, printed off a screen shot of what it showed for me. Took this into my appointment. The lady at the front desk took the screen shot I printed off and said "i'll fill all this out for you. Go ahead and take a seat." Less than 10 minutes later I was getting Xrays. They really made me feel at ease. From going over the Xrays and explaining my options and outcomes of each. Was quick and painless. Were really friendly and there to answer any questions. When done left me with a prescription to avoid infection. And instructions on what I should do to ensure the best recovery. Went over in detail what I should do to ensure recovery. Let me know if had any issues after I leave, or questions, or concerns, to call or stop back in. Although I just happend to have stopped in as was working in the area. I would highly recomoned anyone who lives in the Brookings SD or surrounding area to make Knutzen Family Dentistry their dentist. I can't imagine better dental care anyone in our country. NOT PLEASED. NOT INFORMATIVE…read more I visited this optometrist today and was not pleased. This was my very first time visiting an optometrist. I told Dr. Tasha Jones this, and asked her to walk me through what she was doing and why. She said she would. Unfortunately, she didn't. She raced through the exam and didn't tell me what she was doing unless I stopped her and asked. She also didn't tell me at all about the eye drops that burned, and she didn't tell me that she'd be using a piece of equipment to press on my eye to determine pressure. I only found out because after she did that she said my pressure is fine. I asked, "How do you find out pressure?" She responded, "It touched your eye. Most people don't want to know we'll be touching their eyes." I specifically asked to be told what was happening! She didn't tell me. That is horrible. All she would have had to say was, "This drop numbs the eye, and this equipment lightly touches the eye to measure pressure." It's that simple. No big deal. But unfortunately, she felt she had to hide that from me. After the exam I asked what the results were. She responded with something vague like, "It's good. Your eyes are healthy." When I asked what my vision was I received another vague answer. I then asked, "If you had to write down a number, what would it be?" Finally, I got an answer. It was like pulling teeth to get an answer. I am very displeased with Dr. Tasha Jones as an optometrist.
