I just wanted to let people know that this still is the best animal hospital in Waynesville. They…read morestill get you in fast as heck, and they are still really friendly. They are very patient, even late in the evening. I found out recently that they see "pet strays". Tom, my sorta feral, lived on my porch since spring of 2018. (Before that he was sidelined by a blonde.) He got a boo-boo this past December, and it became infected. I called Lend Us Your Ear to see what options I had. Lend referred us to Balsalm, which is our hospital anyway. Dr. Moore took great care of Misa- in for late standard care- and Tom. Yes, they even allowed Misa to piggyback on Tom's appointment. And, yes, they are brave enough to help cats with bad attitudes. Tom had one. Sadly, a few days ago, I noticed that Tom was unable to urinate. It seemed that his left back leg was causing him some pain. My daughter said that Tom almost fell over trying to clean himself. We thought that that was due to his being nineteen pounds. Later that night, I chided him to get out of the rain. He got on top of his FeralVilla, and I hesitated. I wanted to cover him, but knew he would run away if I attempted to do so. The next morning, he was gone. He has been missing for several days now. My husband was the last to see him. I like to think that Tom went on a morning walk, and impulsively decided to look for a mistress. Misa and I are still looking for him in his regular spots. That quick, our lives have changed. And before we could get him help at Balsalm, the most dedicated and compassionate vet hospital in Haywood County. Dedicated to Tom, a tom hopefully vacationing in Miami.

The name doesn't fit, I called to have my puppy neutered and went in for consultation my pup is uno…read morebecause he only has one testicle. We were told no problems it was right under the skin it could be retrieved fairly easily and he was glad because if not he wouldn't feel comfortable. They scheduled an appointment and told me it was 405.00. It snowed the appointment day but they didn't call to cancel so I took him. Paid my money, weighed my 12lb baby and gave him to the very nice girl the Dr was waiting for him. I get a call an hour later my heart stopped, she said he's fine but it's gonna cost 275.00 more and you'll have to pay it when you pick him up. Wait! What? Why? Because he has one testicle, and it cost more, I thought that's why it's so expensive to neuter a male dog. I asked to speak with Dr Moore and he told me if he does more it cost more, We agreed on a price and I followed through with my end so let's half the cost. He declined, told me he would wake my puppy up and I could come get him. I agreed to pay the full amount because I didn't want my puppy to have to be put to sleep again but he refused. So no don't fall for the name and use caution when you love a fur baby and leave it here. The staff was very sorry and helpful as we waited to make sure I could take him safely. The nurse had to go outside to ask if I should still take him with him shaking like he was. As I was leaving Dr Moore was in the middle of the driveway putting out ice and didn't want to move, until I laid down on the horn. Haywood County folk talk, so be a good businessman. It's a hard no for my babies. I'm just thankful I didn't take my 150 lb mastiff.
