Deb does an awesome job of talking about what has changed in the medical field, new best practices, and also facilitates great group discussion. There's no such thing as a silly question in her class. :-) She takes time out to do a tour of St Peter's Hospital and the hospital in olympia. The tour is great because you get to see the birthing centers and/or the rooms that you'll be in. You also get to meet and greet with some of the medical staff that work there. One of the things that stood out for us was that we also got to handle some of medical equipment that will be used during your birth or C-section. While we were looking at all the different types of equipment she was explaining what they're used for in general, the risk to Mom and or baby, and also what the hospital may do in the event of emergency. The videos that she showed during the course we're also very informative and up-to-date.. not like the outdated ones there's a lot of other places show. We found the resources that she gives to be super helpful as well. I actually ended up reaching out to her after the class to find out where I could find additional pumping equipment at the hospital didn't have. She replied within of short period of time and referred me to a store that had exactly what I was looking for. She was a lifesaver. One of the things that my husband said he greatly appreciated was that she also goes over the coaches roles and responsibilities during the birth, gives tips and suggestions for them, but also takes time to recognize what they're going through to. So often it's all about the mom that we tend to forget the coaches are also going through the birthing experience as well. If w could give more than five stars we totally would!!!

In postpartum, I felt so cared for when they only not checked up on our baby, but also checked in so much with my healing & mental health. The endless cycle of breastfeeding and pumping bordered on grueling. I was anxious, irritable and found it hard to sleep (although I was exhausted!). Enter Doula Deb, who helped us mostly with overnight care so we could get the restorative sleep we desperately needed. Deb was calm, caring, supportive, reliable and positive. She listened and provided us with information, baby-care tips and encouragement. With her watching over and helping care for our daughters (and us!) in the wee hours, I felt like I could finally exhale. Welcoming Deb into our home was like getting the whiffs of parenting oxygen we needed to help us reset and find our way through the early days of parenthood.

I am so grateful I took the leap of faith with Lizz and Elliott. They are down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and really came through for me as a patient when my baby experienced shoulder distocia during my home birth. I had the most beautiful home birth I could hope for (despite the hiccup), and absolutely have them in part to thank for it. In addition to that, their office is lovely & full of plants and toys. My 3 year old loved going to "the baby store" with me and playing with all their fun toys before listening to baby's heartbeat. Finally, they were very sympathetic to my challenging financial situation & were flexible with my payment plan. TL;DR : Yes, I recommend these great midwives.

We had an incredible experience with Wellspring Midwifery. I had recently had a missed miscarriage…read morewhen I came into their care with my second pregnancy. The midwifery clinic I was previously with for the first pregnancy , told me I could no longer work with them and did not give a reason. Valley medical midwives said they would not work with me because I am overweight and of advanced maternal age. The other midwives clinics in the area said they were full for my due date. Swedish midwives did not take my insurance. When I went to the obgyn, she made me feel like I was wasting her time and I felt rushed during a very tender time. I felt discouraged and decided to widen how far I was willing to travel for care. I reached out to Wellspring Midwifery, and they promptly set up a zoom call where I asked tons of questions, we discussed our experience and they shared info about their practice. I felt so relieved to find them during such a hard time, filled with fear and anxiety. Our first appointment was over an hour and Lizz made me feel so comfortable and heard. It was amazing, they even did Saturday appointments so we didn't have to miss work and the traffic was much better. I met Elliot a few appointments later and she was equally awesome to Lizz! Throughout the process, I had monthly appointments and additionally was able to call for questions or write them in the online portal and they would promptly respond. Later in my pregnancy, we made the informed decision that we would prefer to transfer my care to a hospital so that I could access an epidural during labor and knowing which hospital we were going to. Lizz and Elliot were supportive of this decision and helped with the transition of paperwork. They allowed me to stay on for postpartum care. I even called them during my labor when I was trying to make a decision. It was awesome to have the support of their postpartum care because my obgyn only scheduled me for 1 appointment at 8 weeks postpartum. Lizz and La-Kiesha (their midwifery student who joined many of my appointments) came into my home 2 days after my baby was born and did a visit where we talked about the baby, my husband and myself and did some checks on the baby and me. They also gave me breastfeeding support. I had multiple follow ups in office during the first 6 weeks postpartum. It was so helpful to get regular support throughout that period of time. I am forever grateful for my experience with Wellspring Midwifery and I highly recommend them for your prenatal and postpartum care.

We just completed a 3 week Great Start series with Chevy Geech at Parent Trust's Montlake Terrace…read morelocation and were really happy! The course was extremely comprehensive, over 3 Saturday's from 9am - 2.30pm with a total of 40 minutes of breaks throughout the day. Along with the Penny Simkin book, you are given materials and contacts throughout the course to help - all of which were fantastic. The content of the course covers everything from early labor right the way through to diaper changing. Chevy was a fantastic teacher who knows how to interact with a class well and keeps everyone active and interested for the 5.5 hour sessions - an incredible feat in and of itself! :) Each of the series culminates with a reunion that takes place once all the babies are born. We just wrapped up our series today, but will be gathering again in January to meet everyone again with their +1's (babies!) We can't wait! If you are looking for a reputable, accredited and well planned out course to take regarding childbirth and the pre and post stages as well.

Warehouse was huge and she did have a great sale. Her items are pretty fuffy and expensive to say the least. I looked at a small wooden jewelry box that would have normally been a maximum of $25 at any antique shop. She wanted $1250 for it. Even when you take 80% off that it is ridiculous. She overcharges for everything. She may have nice products but not many can afford them.
