Over the past 8 months, I have struggled with a low hum/ringing in my left ear. I consulted with an ENT and was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease-a condition believed to be related to excess fluid buildup in the inner ear. I had a CT scan, inner ear steroid injections, changed to a low-sodium diet, tried transcranial therapy, acupuncture, massage, and Botox injections in my jaw. Nothing changed the humming in my ear until I went to Dr. Joel Kirsch at Birmingham Chiropractic Clinic. I could not be more grateful for the progress he has made. He is personable and knowledgeable, as is everyone in the office. It is an incredible practice. read more

Best Chiropractor Ever!! I have been seeing Dr. David Kirsch for over 20 years....he is the only Chiropractor who has ever been able to successfully improve my neck and lower back pain. I have nerve and disc issues, from multiple car accidents, and he is the only doctor I have ever found who has been able to realign my neck and spine, giving me pain relief and improved quality of life. Thank-you Dr. Kirsch! The office is kind and extremely helpful, as well. read more

Very nice staff! Great chiropractic care! Also a wonderful massage therapist on site!

From the first time I visited Dr Joel Kirsch, I felt right at home. Being a new patient, I was very pleased with the attention given to me. The office was very pleasant and the staff was very professional. Before visiting, it was suggested that I take a look at the website beforehand (if desired), as the paperwork and tons of information was available there. The website is very nicely done and there was a lot of useful information. I was able to print all the forms off and read them at my leisure - and bring them in during my visit - to avoid needing to get there 15 - 20 minutes early to fill out the paperwork. Dr Joel has great attention to detail, explains things well and has an excellent way with people. I was instantly at ease and so happy I had made the appointment. I felt immediate results and was especially pleased with the fact that I was given exercises to do at home to help the process along. I was also called at home the first night to confirm I was feeling okay, and find out if I had any questions (great touch and I really appreciated the call!). Also, I wasn't put on a 3x/week visit schedule with 5000 needed supplements like some places. I went 2x and now occasionally as needed. The office is conveniently located around the corner from Great Harvest Bread Company (they actually share a parking lot), so in addition to feeling 100% better after leaving - i was able to grab a fresh loaf of bread. Bonus. :) read more

i had a tight nerve in my leg causing extreme pain. After 5 visits in 10 days with Dr. Totten, I was able to ditch the crutches and am now on my way to recovery. Office staff is very kind and helpful, even squeezing me in when I was desperate for an appointment. They took x-rays and quickly and accurately diagnosed my problem. Highly recommended! read more

I decided it was time to start going to the Chiropractor again as I was having some back issues. It felt like a pinched nerve with shooting pain on both sides of my spine. A friend recommended Dr. Joel, so I made an appointment. The staff is super nice and helpful. The client and staff interactions seemed like they have a very loyal client base. Dr. Joel was great. We talked about my history and my current back issue. I felt relief within a few days. I was super happy! I highly recommend Dr. Joel! read more

I came here for my upper right shoulder because I was experiencing a very sharp pinch. I was able to get in with Dr. Kirsch. They took X-rays and he noticed that my rip was out of placement. Easy fix I guess and he was about to adjust it right back into place! I then experienced immediate relief!! I was so thankful they could get me in as soon as possible, I have three young kids who constantly need to be picked up. I'm now going for a lower back hip issue and I am seeing some amazing results. Not a quick fix but I feel that Dr. Kirsch is doing what's better for my long term health. Highly recommend! read more

In case you don't want to read the reasons why I recommend Dr, Kirsch and the entire Birmingham Chiropractic Clinic, I will get right to the point: - It's personal. They truly care about you. - It's personalized. They go at your pace to ensure comfort. - Integrity and honesty. True to his word and if he can't help you, he will tell you that up front (happened to my dad - read more below) - Above and Beyond. Realizing the discomfort I had been in, Dr. Kirsch personally called me that night just to see how I was doing (even though I would be there the next day). - Knowledgable. I don't think there is an injury Dr Kirsch has not seen. I am so comforted by his experience and confidence to fix me issue. And to add to that, he even recommended some medicine to talk to my MD about and he was spot on! Who else does that??? - Trust. It is that simple. I trust this office with myself, my wife, and daughter. I do not take the time to give reviews very often and only when a business has exceeded my expectations. That is exactly what Dr. David Kirsch (owner, operator, Doctor) did for me. On 1/24/21 I bent over to put a collar on my dog for a walk. That's all it took as I fell to my knees in seizing back pain. You probably know what I am talking about. That sudden pain that takes your breath away. I called Dr. Kirsch the very next morning and he was able to get me in that same morning. I could barely walk. Dr Kirsch has always been someone who listens and investigates before taking action. Side note: my father went to see him years ago and Dr. Kirsch was honest and said he could not help him due to the type of issue - that's honesty! Dr Kirsch took x-rays of my back and determined it was an injury he could help me get back to 100% AND teach me some exercises to avoid this from happening again. I was so grateful to hear that! Due to my extensive issue and pain level, Dr Kirsch developed a plan to get me feeling normal within a few days. At this time I am on day 4 and feeling 80% better with a plan to be just about 100% in two more days. That might seem long to you but it's not. It takes time to adjust correctly without causing more pain. And let me tell you when it happened I was in the worst pain I have ever felt. Today (day 4) I walked out singing his praises not believing how much better I felt. I am literally looking forward to going back. Finally I would absolutely recommend even a monthly adjustment to stay aligned- that is something I plan to do. You will never stand more straight, feel so strong, or feel so young (I am 51). My family and I have been going to his practice for many years. I see Dr, David Kirsch but my family has also seem his son Dr Joel Kirsch and Dr. Totten. read more

Dr. Kirsch is fantastic. I had my first (and hopefully last) experience with sciatica, and after no relief from pain pills prescribed by my doctor, I went to Birmingham Chiropractic. I went in using a cane and came out significantly better, ditching my cane after one visit. Each visit has provided increased relief. Highly recommended. read more

Dr Joel is great but they are always running at least 30-45 minutes behind. A bit irritating when they charge YOU $25 if you do not cancel 24 hours in advance. read more

I had my back recently that resulted in lost range of motion. I knew I had to see a Chiropractor. After reviewing the reviews online, I called and made an appointment with Dr. David Kirsch. Okay, so I went to this clinic a couple of years ago with back pain. I waited over an hour past my appointment time to be seen. They did a preliminary exam + an x-ray, and wanted me to come back later in the evening for the actual adjustment. Problem was, when I came back at my scheduled 6PM appointment time, the office was CLOSED. No lights, door locked. Tried knocking & phoning, no response. That was enough for me - I never went back. Fast forward to this month. My husband's been having back pain & wanted to give this office a try. I warned him about my experience, but it's close to his work & he was desperate. He's gone about six times so far. First two times, he got right in. He liked the Dr, and his back was feeling better. Next three appointments, he was kept waiting a half an hour past his appointment time. Finally, he showed up for his 5:15PM appointment, and the office was again CLOSED. Bottom line, they may be good doctors but they don't respect their patients. We can find someone better. read more

Dr. Joel Kirsh is simply the best. He actually asks questions each time you visit and spends a great deal of time with you to work on whatever your problem may be. Be prepared to wait a little, not like other offices where you are in and out very qucikly, not too bad when you consider the results! New or old problems, Dr. J is the one to see. read more

Dr. Joel Kirsch is one of a kind! If you like the type of doctor that listens, cares and will work with you to figure out a solution to your pain/condition; then wait no more. I have seen many Chiropractors and Dr. Joel may be one of the best! His holistic approach to "less is more" is also very refreshing, meaning he wants to help you and not necessary take all of your money as some doctors. The office has great hours that accommodates anyone's schedule. The staff are also very attentive and wonderful. read more

Dr. David Kirsch was recommended to me by a friend who strongly suggested I see him before having any more surgery on my hip. I had had two arthroscopic procedures and gone through several rounds of physical therapy without much improvement. I was told a hip replacement would be next. I took her advice and scheduled a visit with Dr. David Kirsch. His professionalism, comprehensive evaluation, and subsequent treatment, have since made a world of difference in my quality of life! He clearly takes a special interest in each of his patients, working together with you to make you the best you can be. The office personnel are also top notch, and you are treated with the utmost respect by all. Highly recommend a visit to Dr. David Kirsch/Birmingham Chiropractic. read more

Dr David Kirsch has been my chiropractor for 12 years. He is dedicated to helping you.

Dr. Joel Kirsch was recommended to me by my massage therapist. She said that he was very detailed in his chiropractic care. She also mentioned that he was a very caring individual. It took me a while to switch doctors, but I just felt it was necessary for me to receive more detailed and progressive care, than I was currently receiving. On my initial visit, I knew I had made the right decision. I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Kirsch. The adjustments are different than I have experienced before and I really feel like they are tailored to what my personal issues are. I am confident that I will feel even better with time. The office is very nice and up to date. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Really, everything you could ask for, from your health care provider! read more

Where do I even begin? Dr. Joel is the only reason why I can walk pain free after dealing with excruciating sciatic pain for months. It is very clear the chiropracters are VERY knowledgeable and truly caring about their patients. They take x-rays before and take a very methodologic and scientific approach to determine the problem. Dr. Joel really listens, explains and involves you in the treatment process. He is very skilled and seems to really know what he is doing and has a very medically based practice. And he's overall just a really genuine, kind, funny and awesome person. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. The office itself is so well upkept and had the cute little lower back supports on the seats in the waiting room which I thought was adorable. It's so nice that the chiros here work on getting you on your feet and pain free asap and not dragging treatments on just to make money like other places do. I am so grateful I found them and I have been pain free for over a year! Wouldnt recommend anywhere else! read more

David Kirsch knows chiropractic medicine, but not customer service. They sent me a bill 6 months after my first treatment with a cut up note saying I must have not paid something during my visit. I had been back there 12 times since then, paying a copayment each time. When I called, the staff claimed they had to submit it to the insurance company 3 times for review. Yet, the insurance company provided me with statements showing they decided what I owe 2 weeks after my visit---so they staff dropped the ball and then lied to cover it up. I put this all in writing to David Kirsch, had it hand delivered, heard nothing. I returned for a visit a few weeks later and again he tried to blame the insurance company. When I asked him if he read my letter he said no, he was too busy. When I left the office the staff called, saying I HAD REQUESTED A CALL, and I advised I had not and again, they had no idea of the content of the letter so I told them to read the letter and respond. It has now been 3 weeks and have still heard nothing, telling me my letter and concerns went in the garbage. I guess they are too busy for my business. read more

my insurance was not taken here, but the prices where very reasonable. I had a pain with my back for 20 years and after 2 visits, the problem has been gone for 5 years. Thank god, because it hurt all those years. read more

I went to Dr. Joel Kirsch two weeks ago for a pinched nerve. Like the previous reviewer, he spent an hour with me on that first visit and then called later that day to see how I was feeling. I've gone to him four times now and my pain is gone. I live 30 minutes from his office but it's worth the trip when you are in pain to be in good hands. I too love that this isn't an office that wants you to keep coming back on a regular basis. He fixes you! The staff is great too and they've never tried to sell me on anything either. read more
