I have tried to contact twice and they literally won't reply to either the contact form on their website or their contact email. This is not the case, I don't know exactly who San Sebastien is maybe he would like to think that he designed the clothes he sells, I really don't know. Anyway By San Sebastien is a trendy clothing shop with an excellent location as it sits among the busy cafes and restaurants in Coogie, so it does not have much competition but a great deal of traffic. The clothes are stylish but expensive, mainly well known brands such as G star, Bauhaus, Le Specs, Bauhaus, Lee, just to name a few. I do like the clothes, but I don't think I'll be shopping there unless they have a sale, I already own too many clothes. They do have some really funky pendant chains at the counter though, they are worth checking out.

I am blown away sometimes by how some of these shops stay in business as they are not selling good clothes and what they are selling could be picked up at any St Vin's or Salvo's shop for a fraction of the price. Reuze Vintage in Paddington does not fit into this category but is rather offering quality vintage stock. A relatively new shop, Reuze is more geared towards women and with much lacy garments and formal clothing for both men and women, it is not a shop, which particularly appeals to my sense of style, but none the less their clothes are high in quality and providing a fashion style many people will love.

Girls who like vintage clothes will be in heaven - there's actually so much to go through that I had to take a time out and go back another day. While some dresses are around the $100 mark (some worth it, others only racking up the dollars because they're old), there's also a great range for $25, which is a steal considering all the love and effort that went into making clothes back in the day. Yes, you could probably spend your weekends trawling op shops to find similar items at a fraction of the price, but here all the hard work has been done for you and it's definitely worth supporting a local shop owner taking a brave leap.

The store is really boutique-y and has a nice feel to it. You may find a cute little bag or some gorgeous patent stilletto's. She has ready to wear cocktail and formal wear but you can order bridal or evening gowns as well. You have to give a few months notice, of course. Overall, a pleasant little outlet.

In fact every third shop on Campbell Pde seems to at least stock swimwear if not a specialty beach gear shop. Bikini Island has a really good range, with tops and bottoms sold separately- for those of us who don't fit the pre-set size standards imposed by swimwear designers or who like to mix & match. The clearance store stocks some of my favourite swimwear designers (Zimmerman, Tigerlily etc) as well as Bikini Island's own label which is decent and pretty cheap! If you end up at the beach without swimmers it's not going to break your wallet to pop in here and pick up a new costume and they also stock towels, goggles - most things you'd require for a day frolicking on Bondi Beach.

So pretty plain but comfortable things. It's a great concept for a store but a larger variety wouldn't hurt. Since it's so small everything is rather compacted and stuffy so not much room for browsing without bumping into someone else. Even though it has a good selection of basics, I'd rather get my Bonds undies and singlet's from a store like Target where there is a much larger variety, often specials and discounts and they don't get pissed off at you if you need a plastic bag to carry all your new purchases. Yep, once the guy at the counter in Pluto's told me I hated the environment because I needed a plastic bag to carry my new bras. Perhaps I should have worn them as hats and strolled along the street home.

This is the place to find that 'perfect' white t-shirt or pair of jeans. Labels like Jac + Jack, Jbrand, Velvet and American Vintage line the walls or live on the old wooden table in the middle of the store. This sort of effortless chic does not come without a price tag. You could be looking at upwards of $100 for a basic singlet. That said the fit will be amazing, the cotton may be blended with cashmere and the quality impeccable. It is possible to grab a piece of Me and Moo for a little less - I find their scarves are reasonable starting at approx $40.

For women there are beautiful Zimmerman silk sun frocks and they also stock the cult jean brand J Brand. I imagine squeezing my generous self into one of those waxed denim numbers that I have seen on Rhianna and decide I stick with the 'whatever-I-can find' daily look rather than aspire to the unobtainable vamp rock star. Biird has a great store configuration with the right hand side of the shop being fashion mostly for the infant - toddler girls. The boys clothing is accessed to the back of this section. To the back of the shop behind the cash register is the womens clothing. Prams and strollers can be easily pushed around in each section. This is one of the things I love about Biird is the product placement is clearly defined not jumbled together like your kid has just hurricaned through the shop and that one is able to wander around easily. Clovelly Road is a very busy street right up until the second roundabout where the 2nd block of shops are. It has some of the best bakeries, providores and of course Green Mango, Pasta Zu and Clodeli which are very popular eateries. Be savvy and use one of the side streets to park that has unlimited parking. For my little diva I purchase a couple of transeasonal pieces including a green Diesel layered dress and a beautiful cotton number from the brand Ouch. Biird also stocks Fred Bare, Gaia, Pure Baby Organic, Love Luck shoes and Baby Havaania's. The staff are incredibly helpful and having children of their own I trust their wisdom in their suggestions.
