And at 2 in the morning, on your way home from a big night out, there's nothing that a vegetarian could be more thrilled to see than a big Mediterranean falafel wrap. As well as being open late and serving good quality and relatively healthy fast food, Falafel House is also awesome because they sell all kinds of old-school milk bar staples like milk shakes and thick shakes (they even have Blue Heaven flavour)! To walk home with a falafel wrap in one hand an a chocolate milkshake in the other makes me all kinds of happy.

They stay open until 4 am and open again at 9am seven nights a week. So, fantastic for the Big nights out, or when you're burning midnight oil. They've got more than souvlakis and kebabs, schwarmas, burgers and fish chips too oh and dimmies as well. Coffee is served and try the Turkish delight or baklava. Now I want to stress that the meats hanging off the rotisserie are ACTUAL meat cuts be it lamb or chicken or beef and NOT the kind of meat glue that's just yuck. So you know you are getting tasty proper slices of lamb, chicken or beef. Or a combination just ask. And choose your toppings from Garlic sauce to tabbouleh and pickled turnips and chilli. My mouth is watering already. I would recommend the lamb kebab or souvlaki burger. Tasty and satisfying. It's a beeeet more expensive than others but again, you aren't eating meat glue. The gentlemen serving you are always happy to be there. It's a pretty basic setup but importantly it's kept clean and you can sit inside our outside. I heart Falafel House.

Service was friendly however it was apparent that staff were quite inexperienced with both the drink and food menus. The bartender admitted to not ever making one of their special cocktails and the long wait for our two drinks which arrived separately was not encouraging. Another person took our food orders very slowly and had to stare quite awhile at each item we chose. It was as if it were her first day. Food was a bit slow to arrive as it came all at once rather than as each dish was ready, and we had a few things to share. The food itself was good but not great. Oyster Kilpatrick had a bit too much barbecue sauce for my taste. The jalapeño poppers were ok but didn't come with the traditional cream cheese filling. I did enjoy the scallop skewers from the specials menu. They paired well with the tomato dipping sauce. Lastly the lamb souvlaki was more of a wrap than anticipated. It was good but didn't blow me away. Overall I think they need to refine their approach. While their friendly banter was better than a cold welcome, they need to brush up on their technical skills to really bring this place to the next level.

The tall bartender who admitted to being inexperienced in making a not so virgin Mary or as my friend commented he was a virgin at making a not so virgin Mary did a not so spectacular job at making the cocktail. I couldn't taste any alcohol. Just tomato juice. My friends cocktail was quite delicious with summery hints of pineapple and lemon. We got jalapeno poppers, scallops with tomato sugo sauce and lamb soulvakis to share. The three scallops on each skewer tasted like scallops and didn't go with the pasta like sauce that they were served with. The jalapeno poppers weren't spicy and needed a creamy chipotle sauce not coarse chunky guacamole that fell right off. The lamb souvlaki was delicious with tender pulled lamb and yoghurt with the sour pomegranate sauce, but there just wasn't enough of this awesome sauce. The waitstaff asked us repeatedly whether our meals and drinks were ok. Yes they were friendly but they seemed very inexperienced. And the wait for the food was so long. after 10 minutes of arriving there, we were the only table there. So I didn't really understand why the drinks took so long and why the food came out all at once. This place could be awesome. just needs better service and perhaps balanced flavours. 80 bucks for two with drinks.
