We went here on a spontaneous day trip and we were not disappointed. In the entrance area are little lockers to stow away your valuables. This is an easy, one tram trek from Potsdam Hbh, making it an easy trip from Berlin. I think this probably a fantastic place for school age children. As a couple adults, we had a nice time but maybe slightly underwhelmed. The butterfly room has some interesting and unusual creatures. I enjoyed the many tanks of walking sticks, not something you see commonly. There are some great tropical fish tanks, colorful birds and lizards. I was hoping for a greater variety of plants. The temperature is very comfortable and the facility is well cared for. The staff were all friendly and helpful. read more

What a great garden (and zoo)! I have heard this from my partner and we decided to visit again together. When we arrived here, I am simply felt in love with this place. It's full of beautiful greens and creatures. Great place for an small adventure! Biosphäre Potsdam is not really far from the city center of Potsdam. It took about 10-15 mins to get here. If you travel from Berlin to here, probably took around an hour, but I would tell you it totally worth it. Inside this place like I mentioned earlier, it's full of greens. It's almost like a big giant green house with tropical rainforest. I was completed amazed by it. We also saw lots interesting creatures along the path inside this place, such as cute little lizards, cool looking inserts, pretty little fishy and others. We also went to the butterfly room, it wasn't really big, but sure really cool, was able to see those beautiful butterflies fly around me and on me, it was quite a experience. Along the path there were couple education stations and some interesting equipments, it allow people to enjoy and learn in the same time. There were one I remember, a equipment fill with different fragments and one of it sure was not for me. At the back, there was the Aquaphäre, I saw some small fish there. It wasn't so big, but I like what they did with the exit of this area, there you could read about how important ocean to us and how problem of ocean pollution. I thought it's quite a nice idea to send some green messages to the visitors. The café and restaurant were also at the back. We have a small break here, really nice view and refreshing. After that, we had a small walk above this rainforest, then soon we reach the exit. There got a gifts shop, I was looking for a special fridge's magnet of Biosphäre, it was quite pity that I didn't find any, instead of that just some fish. The gift shop seem nice though, the stuffed animals there was cute and people could buy some small plants to take home. All said and done, it is a really nice places to walk around and explore. The price of the entrance ticket is acceptable, the staff are quite friendly there, I also read that they offer some social programs, just visit their website have a look. I personal like this place quite a lot, will definitely like to visit again. read more

Excellent activity for the family. Quite easy to get there: Take the Regionalbahn to Potsdam Hauptbahnhof (much quicker than the S-Bahn). From there take the Tram 96 towards Bornstedter Feld / Viereckremise and get off at Volkspark (directly in front of the park). Alternatively, take the Tram 92 towards Bornstedt / Kirschallee and get off at Campus Fachhochschule. From there follow the tram tracks to the right and keep on walking straight (approx. 400m). It's best to go there in the morning as it is not overcrowded. You can take the baby stroller with you, no problem. PS: The air ballon flight simulator (every hour) is not really a must-see kind of thing.... read more

We spent a few hours here today with 3 kids aged 11-13. It starts out a little slow in a room with some information about bones and other interesting biological structures, but soon you go into the rain forest area which was very nice. The butteryfly house was really great, above my expectations. All sizes and colors of butterflies, flying back and forth, occasionally landing on a guest or two. There was a friendly woman working in this area and she pointed out lots of details that we had missed - such as where the babies and caterpillars were. Really interesting.. Animal exhibits were okay, but I found the plants sometimes more interesting, although there were some nice bird enclosures as well as a interesting collection of walking sticks. We didn't try any of the food there. A bit pricey if you are going individually but the family ticket is a fair price. We were able to easily find parking on the street outside, and there's a tram stop nearby as well. read more

War auch sehr schön (schmetterlinghaus, viele Pflanzen zb Orchideen, Reptilien, Insekten, Vögel etc. War nur etwas enttäuscht, dass die Fledermäuse nicht echt waren :( für EUR9,50 würde ich wahrscheinlich nicht noch mal hin, aber so war es ein netter Ausflug read more
