I have been donating at this center close to three years. EVERYONE is very friendly and helpful. The staff is always happy to see you- they even greet you by name. I am not sure what the other reviews are referring to, maybe they need to brush up on social skills.... One DRAWBACK is they have a huge staff turnover! Unfortunately , the management team is not very efficient in hiring replacements quick enough. ANOTHER drawback is the waiting is horrendous sometimes because of the lack of staff. Some days are more unbearable than others. Oftentimes I end up leaving because if the lobby is holding 8+ people expect to be there for over 3 hours. Sometimes your time is more valuable than the $40 or $70 they offer. read more

My husbands first visit went well his second visit the technician blew out his vein then used the other arm and poked him so many times he was covered in bruises and wasn't able to donate after waiting for 3 hours with no compensation or even a I'm sorry. The techs are careless didn't offer a drink after the first donation whereas other locations want to ensure you are feeling good so they provide you with a beverage to keep you hydrated. read more

Make sure you do not let you Grifols Debit Card expire because if it does, and you go to take out money, it will not allow you because its expired even if you have a balance. I figured I would get a new card in the mail like all debit cards that expire. Not the case as when I called the bank, they said I needed to get a new card from the center. I am currently going to another plasma donation center because they are paying a higher fee and called to see if my wife can pick up my new card. Per Destiny, nope I have to go in person. I even offered to write a permission letter with a copy of my ID. She said no. I have to go in person. Now I have to make an inconvenient trip because they don't automatically renew cards when they expire. And, they do not pick up the phone. I tried calling all afternoon yesterday, then first thing this morning and don't bother leaving a message, because they will not return a call. While I'm at it, not gonna lie, the workers and staff are always friendly, but you almost always have to wait 15 to 30 minutes or longer to get hooked up, and the same if not longer to get disconnected. I'm going to a competitor now and they seem to get the job done faster with more donors and about the same amount of staff??? Hmmmmm read more

Don't bother calling, they NEVER answer the phone. I have been sitting in the waiting area. The phone rings, the staff looks at it and does not answer it. They just never ever answer the phone. You could have a simple question, you could be there and they tell you to call in later for an answer, but how are you supposed to get the answer if they don't answer the phone? The front office staff make it very frustrating to be here and I hope somehow they can improve. read more

I went in as a new donor and within 5 minutes I mentioned that I had recently donated blood. In spite of that they kept me there for almost 2 hours before telling me that I wasn't able to donate plasma that soon because of that. They could have told me from the beginning but chose not to. I interacted with several staff members who were dismissive, argumentative and downright rude. Near the end I was in a private room with a woman and at that time she asked for the exact date of when I donated blood. I made a phone call and was able to ascertain that information. A few more questions followed, then I was led out of that room, and after about 10 minutes that same woman came to me with the news that I wasn't able to donate. I asked her why she didn't say so 10 minutes ago, she said "it wasn't 10 minutes". So I asked her why she didn't say anything at that time, she said she's not allowed to unless we're in a private room. I said 'we just were in a private room'... she said 'no we weren't'. Just a foul attitude. Total disrespect with no regard for someone else's time. read more

I just want to start by saying the facility itself is clean and the process is very smooth. The reason for the rating is I have had a few bad experiences with the bonuses they give and the way the manager Destiny resolves these issues. Not only is it very difficult to get ahold of anyone through the phone, but the manager Destiny will not reach back. I have had to call back several times to get the issue resolved. This last bonus I was offered I didn't receive it automatically, I spoke to Destiny. She confirmed that I had completed all the Qualifications to Receive the bonus. She said that if I did not receive the bonus automatically she would have to Approve the bonus Manually, but I would have to come in one more time to donate then wait in the center for her to manually approve it. While I had this conversation with Destiny, her tone was very disrespectful and unwilling to understand. This is very off putting that the manager is not willing to honor the offers that are given. Just a side note I have had other issues with the offers in the past and this manager is always out of the office, I have had to call them many times and it takes days for her to manually approve the bonuses. So if u come here and get offers for bonuses just pray there will be no issues because if you have to reach out they will treat you like dirt. read more

Under staffed and unsafe conditions. This place is so understaffed that one needs to be prepared for a 2 to 3 hour Wait for a donation and a four hour wait for the first time examination. The staff is fatigued, grouchy, and checked out. The patrons are complaining, frustrated and angry . They are repeatedly told that due to staffing issues it's going to be a very long wait and Appointment are not kept. I'm switching to BiloLife in Pomona, and suggest everyone does also until this place gets it together. read more

Pain in the butt. The system you use to make appointments has bugs. Randomly doesn't let sign in to make appointment. Called to see if they could fix it, they said I have to come in. Okay made appointment for donation to get my sign in fixed. When I come in I ask the manager is up front. I ask if he can fix my sign in. He basically shoed me off and said one of phlebotomists, can help me with that . I waited an hour after my appointment time... I was over waiting at this time. Before I give up waiting I decide to stop in front and ask if they could my sign on in the HUB. The phlebotomist said SHE DIDNT EVEN HAVE ACCESS TO RESET MY ACOUNT!! I just went home. Now I still can't make an appointment in the donor hub. I give up on this place. This is probably the 3rd time drove all the way over there and had to leave because they can't get there business in line. read more

I definitely recommend coming here. if you're a new donor, coming early mornings are way better to go through the process it doesn't take long compared to coming in the evening. The staff does care about you. Indalia is amazing I love how caring she is and she isn't there to just work but make everyone around her comfortable and will always say hi to you. Grifols gives you the care that is needed. There will be busy times but depending on the days you come it differs but that is always going to be everywhere you go! read more

The Grifols facility is clean and the phlebotomists are great. But the admin/management is off. Firstly, I don't know if there's something wrong with the phones, but they never pick up. So you have to visit physically for a question or to get an issue resolved. I was a consistent donor for about a year before stopping. When I was ready to donate again, I came in and specifically asked how long before I would be considered a new donor again (yes, I am trying to get whatever promotions I'm eligible for, understandably). Whoever was at the front desk (didn't catch their name) said six months. I came in a few weeks later ready to donate only to be informed that I would be considered a "lapse donor" and I'll get some extra pay out but I'm not eligible for the new donor promotion. They said they started this April 2023. It makes sense, but that would've been nice to know when I first initially asked. I feel like they should've honored what I was told and moving forward make sure whoever is at the desk knows about the lapse donor program since I had specifically mentioned that I was a previous donor. I feel like their advertisements are misleading. This center used to be more convenient for me but I agree with other reviewers...it's a pain in a butt to try to get an appointment and they seem to always be updating their rules. Since they seem to be doing fine on donors, I will take my plasma that they claim to be so valuable and precious to a BioLife location. read more

This place is extremely frustrating. I book my appointment for a specific time, but end up waiting 45 minutes in the waiting room. Then, I'm called to the back to donate, only to wait another 30 minutes to get hooked up. After donating, I have to wait an additional 10-15 minutes to get unhooked. It's a joke! The Upland Staff is 99% friendly and it is evident that personality is a Grifols/BioMat requirement. While I enjoyed the staff's kindness, I will not return to any Grifols/BioMat locations. As a plasma research corporation the screening system is designed to eliminate potential donors. All safety criteria are reasonable and relevant; however, documents have intentional language bias and are not accessible to individuals with learning challenges. In addition, the stated 2-3 hour processing window for new donors is misleading. Yes, if the screening process steps were back to back they would take up to 3 hours. The misleading aspect is that when donors arrive they enter a procedural rotation by arrival number. For instance, you will have your ID/SS copied, then you sit, the next person has theirs copied, then they sit. You get called to verify your address and start the profile, then you sit, and the person after you goes, and so on and so on. This screening structure stretches the time to up to 4 hours, provided that there aren't any hiccups in your information and they have enough staff. My first visit on a Friday afternoon took 1.75hrs, but I could not complete the process because I had another appointment. Attempt two was the next Monday, with no progress as only one nurse was on staff and arriving at 2pm meant I wouldn't be finished until 7pm. My third attempt was Wednesday morning at 7:39am. I was hopeful it would be smoother and predicted I would be finished by 10:30am. However, after 3.5 hours of screening rotations I was informed that an additional 2 hours were needed. This time including waiting 15min for my BP to drop from 103 to 100, 30min for the person ahead of me to get their physical, then 30min for my physical, and an hour for my sample & donation. At that point I gave up as I had a following appointment at 12pm. If I had stayed, my intake process to donation would have taken 5.75 to 6 hours. If you have the patience to clear up to 6 hours of your day, keep in mind the following helpful tips: *Don't set up a profile or make an online appointment. The platform is not synced to the center and will force a dummy appointment for Fridays only! *Don't go on Friday...it's madness! *Do walk in and mornings are best *Don't go in when you are irritable *Do eat before arrival, and bring water/snack *Avoid caffeine *Have proof of address that matches your name! If you have a Po Box you must have proof of a physical address. *The 10 question "quiz" is situational reasoning, if you are ADD/ADHD, Dyslexic, or struggle with reading take your time on this quiz. *The Binder is relevant for three additional procedural steps. The supervisor Erica was just standing there doing nothing while my injection site was getting filled with blood and it swelling up. And she was being so rude when I asked them for help. Didn't come to later to check up on or didn't provide any follow instructions. I called their head office. The customer representative told me his supervisor was going to call me. I had a very disappointing experience here. I understand that different Plasma companies have different criteria, but I was treated rudely here, in particular by an employee named Kimberly. Note - I'll admit up front that I'm Diabetic. I'm type 2 and am not on insulin. I do take 3 oral meds for it..Metformin, Jardiance and Actos. I've donated plasma off and on to 3 other companies. 1 of which had no problem with my meds, and the other 2 just wanted physician clearance since I was on 3 meds for one condition. I noticed that Biomat was having a good promotion for new donors for their first 10 donations and thought I'd sign up. However, when their employee..a nurse named Kimberly..looked at my med list she said "I'm sorry, but these meds are a no-go" and was very snippy with me. I felt like it was a total waste of time. When I asked why she said "Well..company policies differ and we have to operate under FDA guidelines. Note - ALL plasma and blood centers have to operate under FDA guidelines. Using that as an excuse, when others were fine with it (even with doctors clearance), is a non-sequiter. I felt I was being given the bum's rush just because they new I had donated to other centers. I know the rules about donating them. I didn't appreciated the attitude I got here. Be wary if you wish to donate here. read more

After I had COVID I knew I wanted to donate plasma to help others. The first visit was the longest about 3 hours. They ask you a series of questions, check vitals and blood. Then there is a physical. Then you donate. The next donation was about half the time of the first. And the 3rd was easy peasy lol out in the hour. The staff is so friendly and helpful! Just be polite and they will return the respect. They had a guy come in upset he couldn't donate right then and there but usually first appointments are one week out from when you call, so keep that in mind. I donated many times with ARC and Lifestream. This is slightly different. Don't expect snacks after donation, bring your own. Just a slight inconvenience, but hey they are paying us so I don't mind. You won't be getting the same appreciation like how The Red Cross (they can go overboard sometimes, but then again you're giving it to them for free.) It's great cause you get in and get out. read more

On my first visit it was a 3 hour process but that's to be expected with a medical procedure considering all the paperwork and such. Staff was friendly and engaging, a few airheads but that's everywhere these days. You don't really need an appointment, I made one and when I arrived, it didn't really matter and it went off of a first come first serve sign in sheet. The money was instantly loaded onto a card that I was able to access that night so overall my experience was amazing. read more

I have been coming here for a month now, twice a week, and have had a great experience until today. I had set an appointment for 5pm and didn't get seen until 5:40. It's annoying, but not the reason for my low review. I'm very upset at the girl that took my vitals and management, who did nothing about it. She pricked my finger and took my blood sample as normal. She the proceeded to checking my blood pressure. Mind you, I've already gotten the hang of this and know that they always ask me to keep my arms on the counter and my feet flat on the ground. Well I told her I was going to adjust the chair and move it closer, before I got started. This girl doesn't wait for me to settle down and starts the blood pressure machine AS IM MOVING around and picking up my chair. THEN she tells me that i didn't pass the blood pressure requirements and that I will have to wait another 15 minutes to retake it. Seriously?! I asked her to retake it since I wasn't even sitting down and my arms were picking up a freaking chair. They said it was policy and HAD to wait another 15 minutes. My blood pressure is always normal, I wasn't rushing to get there, and had already been waiting for 40 minutes, so no reason for my pressure to be "high." I get the policy, if everything had been done right, but it wasn't. She didn't follow the proper procedure, so then I'm asked to wait longer?? I talked to management and they are so adamant about their policy, but how does it make sense when the procedure wasn't even done right? Its a misread! Waiting another 15 minutes wouldn't have been a big deal if 1) I hadn't already been waiting 40 minutes and 2) the procedure was done right. If I stayed, that would have been a 2 hour visit, which should have only needed to be 45 minutes total. It makes absolutely no sense how they couldn't have simply retaken my blood pressure right there. read more

I pressed 0 for an operator and I get "sorry I don't recognize that request" errr I even called their other number on their website and they transferred me back to the same freaking number! I have only been able to donate here once. It was such a big hassle. Ironically every time I would come to this Biomat they have an issue with my pulse being too high, so I just stopped coming. Which is kind of strange, due to the fact I check my blood pressure before I come in there .Of course you are not going to get an accurate reading, they have bar like stools for chairs, which prevents you from having your feet planted flat on the floor. I'm a hospice nurse and know that your feet and arm have to be positioned the right way, to get an accurate reading. It seems like they might be trying to single out certain people and preventing them from donating. I really hope this is not the case because there is so many patients that need the plasma. Hopefully, management looks into this issue because it seems like this is happening quite often. read more

Coming here is an absolute drag . I noticed a lot of the guests are rude to staff , but it's because staff doesn't know how to professionally speak to guests . A lot of them are fairly young , and lack professionalism. A simple good morning or hello , is gonna come from here . They literally sigh every-time they have to move a limb . I over heard a few women complaining / venting to guests about their job and co workers . Additionally, it's absolutely wild to speak badly of the guests to other guests . We are NOT your friends . UPDATE: I came back for my 2nd new donor plasma donation. They said for whatever reason (they aren't sure) someone threw out my plasma sample and now i'm going to have to re-do the whole new donor process which takes 3 and a half hours. I decided to leave because I had stuff to do today and it's not worth it. I'm just disappointed in whoever took care of my plasma. I know it's not the front ladies fault but i'm just frustrated. Some of the staff are cool but EVERY friday I have to deal with this rude ass middle aged white lady who ignores everytime i say "have a good day" EVERYTIME, not only that but I work with my hands for a living fixing things and when she does my blood check on my finger she wipes my finger with an alcohol wipe and then looks at it with disgust(literally) so next tjme I go in and she pulls this...I WILL MAKE IT KNOWN. I am a relatively a new donor and my first time donating was painful. The phlebotomist I received did not know how to find my veins and she busted both arms leaving severe bruises. She blamed it on my veins! Hello are you serious? And she sent me home, after donating without any bruise care instructions. My left arm bruise was the size of a golf ball for a week and a half. I went back to donate a second time and I was turned away due to bruising. So I had to wait until my arms were healed (that took over a week). I was in mild pain and moreover, super frustrated. When I was finally able to donate again, the second girl found my vein perfectly fine, no bruising. I wish I would have gotten the girl's name the first time so I could report her. But I know what her face looks like so I will request another person if I ever get her again. Here is a picture of my arm, I week after my donation. The bruise was already fading. You can imagine what it looked like the first week. Update: 1 week later went back (yesterday) and guess what? Another busted vein. I was under the impression that these are well trained and certified phlebotomists. They should know how to find a vein and look at both arms before deciding which vein is best to use. Why is this happening? This one really hurts! I iced it for hours and it's still swollen, not to mention how sore it feels. read more
