My first visit to donating plasma was a very long process, as it is for every new donor. It will…read moretake about 2hrs, so prepare for that. During the 1st visit, one will have to watch an 18m video on what plasma is, what the process is like when donating, before, during, and after, different techniques you can use so that your blood won't clot the line, how the blood will be returned back to the body, etc. you will be taken into a room where, you scan your fingerprint to serve as your identity each time you visit. In this room, you will also tell the tech all locations of tattoos and body piercings. SN: if you have had a tattoo, a touch up on a tattoo, or body piercing within 4months, you will be deferred! You will then sit in the waiting area until you are called to answer 63 short questions about your health and medication use. Once that is done, you head over to the first line so that vitals can be taken. Once you pass, you will then go in another line labeled DONOR FLOOR. You'll wait until someone yells "Next" and proceed onto the Donor floor where there's rows and rows of curved chairs meant to have your legs elevated. Chairs are wiped down before sitting. When donating they will tell you to pump your fist to get the blood flowing. Now once I sat and the needle was in, I saw this woman who was flapping her legs up and down like Chucky . At first, I didn't know why she was doing it. I just thought she was being childish and impatient (at least that's what it looked like to me lol). It wasn't until my second visit (which took about 35m max) that I saw a man doing the same thing except his legs were going faster than the previous woman. Before you know it, his container was already filled with plasma, so I started doing the same thing. I was in and out of the donor floor within 32m! The ones who weren't pumping their fist and flapping their feet like Chucky were staying there 1hr minimum easyyyy. Staff are respectful, clean establishment, and they take great care of you from beginning to end. * You can only donate up to two times in a 7day period. New donors receive a higher incentive than return donors (must donate 5xs within your first 30days). As of June 8, 2024, new donors receive $100 for the first three donations and $75 for the last two donations within a 30day period.

I had a little difficulty locating the area. I blame the gps and human error. But, that's why I left early enough incase I ran into problems. Once I found the location I was a little more at ease. The area is a little industrial. But, anywhere you go never let your guard down. Our instructor, Shaun/Sean/Shawn (not sure how he spells it) was kind, knowledgeable and very personable. He did well at informing us what to expect and how to go about the process. He was patient as we went through the process. I enjoy the laughter he would bring along through your the time. Certainly eased any nerves for anyone if they had anyone. I always get a little excited when I have to re certify for first aid, and CPR. I always call into the Red Cross number on the website. They issue a military discount. Anyone whom I have ever spoken to has always been extremely helpful and knowledgeable on any information provided. This time so signed up for two more classes, anaphylaxis and blood borne pathogens. I have done everything and enjoyed the online portion of the classes they have. I think I will look up more classes to do in my spare time. The subjects are well worth it.

Do not go here! I urge you! First of all the employees are rude, and not on occasion. ALL the time…read morerude!!! They curse & complain & worse of all they are terrible phlebotomists! They are to busy laughing, talking with friends that are donating, gossiping about other donors right in front of you etc.... So my first visit (yes I went a total of 6 times, really need x-mas money) The girl Torre was so busy talking I was trying to flag her down to let her know my machine was beeping, by the time she came over, I had a golf ball size hematoma in my arm! Had someone else stick my other arm & the process went fine. Hematoma lasted for 3 weeks!!! Went the next 5 times with no problems, yes they are rude, inappropriate, favor their friends over you. Just imagine worst service ever! But your first 4 visits which you can do in 2 weeks you make $130! So my last visit, yesterday, went through the normal process, sat in my bed, got stuck, but machine was acting odd. Told 3 staff members that the machine was acting reallly slow. Each just kinda brushed me off. Too make a long story not as long =) The machine took my blood out to remove the plasma, but the needle was not inserted correctly & could not give it back. It was a large amount of blood (their words) & were insistent on giving me it back, which of course I wanted. They adjusted the needle, did not help, so removed. Stuck my other arm, they suck at their jobs & missed. Tried again in the same arm different vein & got another god damn hematoma!!! One last try (number 4 at giving me back my blood) back to the first arm, and another hematoma! So 4 needles later, I did not get my blood back, was their for 2 hours, they gave me my $25 bucks, as I sat lightheaded drinking the caprisun they gave me. Told me that b/c they could not give me my blood back that I had to wait 8 weeks before I could donate again, as if I would ever go back. I sit on my couch today with bruised lumps in the creases of my arms from the hematomas I received that will bruise & be there for at least a couple weeks. Urge you do not go to this place!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
