You meet the pastor and his family and hear of the great outreaches they do locally and abroad. It's good to meet brothers and sisters outside your living area, it's encouraging. I had clicked on their website and watched a bit of the Pastor's message for the morning service and was really touched and decided to go to the second service. I arrived and there were a lot of people outside. It was a small crowd, maybe 80 people. In that size church, all the regulars know each other. I'm sure they could tell I was new. Not one person greeted me. Even inside, a guy by the door to the auditorium didn't speak. I had to tell him good morning and reach out to shake hands. An important part of Church for me is worship. The praise team was talented with a lead singer who has a wonderful voice. They sang some nice contemporary songs. Unfortunately for me, there was no section where there was a place for the congregation to sing along in an extended way ( for example, repeating choruses of "You are Holy, etc."). That is the part where I can really lose yourself in worship and be lifted by the spirit. I'll have to keep looking for a Church where that is part of their Worship as this type of thing really blesses me. I want to be part of the Worship, not just listen to songs, even if sung beautifully. I guess that is why there are so many Churches, so different people can get what they need! The Pastor gave a great sermon. I was really drawn to the focus of living the teachings of Christ instead of judging others. Putting the emphasis on love instead of judgement of others. Yes! His Sermon was just the kind of approach to Christianity that I want to be part of. It is sad for me that the other important parts of going to Church were not what I need: Worship and Fellowship. There was no place in the service where we were asked to greet others around us. I found that lacking because one of my reasons for going to Church is Fellowship and Community. Leaving the Church, no one spoke to me. How could my experience have been improved? Add a space for fellowship during the service. Have the congregation look around and greet someone and shake hands. The new attendee in the group will feel seen and welcomed. Have people by the doors greet people coming and going. This provides a welcome. I felt completely invisible there. In a Church this size, everyone knows everyone and they know when there are new people. I grew up in a Church this size and we always knew if people were not regulars in the congregation. You grow the Church by welcoming and including new people, not ignoring them. I will tune in at home to catch the Pastor's sermons from time to time, as he really fed me with spiritual food I really needed. Thanks and God Bless you, Pastor!

My daughter grew up in this church and so did my nieces and nephews and we have never experienced or witnessed any bullying. This is such a giving church especially when it comes to children. I thank God for Pastor Ricky and his wife and the team who make it possible for us to be able to come to a safe church filled with Jesus love and GREAT TEACHING!

Well, let's just say it's a different kind of Church. The environment is warm, inviting, and where…read moreall are welcome regardless of their baggage. Whether you are a bible scholar or not even a Christian you will all feel welcome at the Grove as there is no feeling of exclusivity or feeling like organized religion full of man-made rules or rituals. There are no judgmental bible thumping Pharisee hypocrites pointing their finger at you or making you feel bad for your past or present issues. Relaxed friendly environment, come as you are, without leaving your personality at the door just as Jesus expected. I doubt you will see a suit let alone a tie and if your visiting probably wouldn't even know which person was the pastor until he walked up to give the sermon. We are all sinners in the eyes of the Lord, none greater than the other. They have great worship music for all ages played by a live band, and definitely no boring sermons, and unafraid to speak the truths in scripture from the pulpit. Sometimes there are props to make points so you don't know if one Sunday there will be a boat on the stage or the pastor crushing a can of cola during the sermon. The Grove is obviously focused and committed to reaching people and bringing them to Jesus rather than attendance and money. Lots of programs and activities to fellowship and learn more about scripture to improve your relationship with God. I've seen no evidence of clicks or "higher than mighty" attitudes rather everyone seems like family to each other and you will too after spending a few minutes at the 9:30 am coffee connections before church. I have been to a lot of churches but this is the only one that feels like family reunion every Sunday even with people you haven't even met before. Truly a church where even the non-churched can also feel comfortable attending. Coffee connections at 9:30 am, and service promptly starts at 10:00 am, and is usually over by 11:15 or 11:30.
