I've been here in Den Haag for about 18 months now and have been in over 20 bicycle shops and have had several of the bicycles in my family serviced at several of these shops. Not one of them compares to the customer service of this Projs Snijder location on Loosduinseweg. If that compliment was not enough, you are not going to find a shop that offers this level of service at the prices they charge. Then if those compliments that are good enough already, look at their hours of operation and realize this place is all about their customers. 09:00-20:00 Mon-Fri, 09:00-18:00 Sat & 11:00-17:00 Sun. This is 365 days a year....even on holidays. They are about 8 km away from my house, and not on my way to work or anywhere else. I have to go out of my way to get there, which is why I have kept trying to go to other bicycle shops. The biggest example, which finally made me stop going anywhere else, was when my wife's bakfiets had a braking issue on a Friday late afternoon, which made it unsafe to operate. My neighborhood shop wanted to charge me 185 Eur to fix it and would not return it until the following Wednesday. The Babboe "dealer" would not even look at it before the next Tuesday (they are not really a dealer as I have found out the hard way.) Prijs Snijder told me to bring it in on Sunday morning and they had me out the door an hour later for 40 Eur. I do not promise everyone that they would fix your bicycle in an hour, but they listened to my worry about my wife and kids on a bicycle that was unsafe and the fact that I was flying out of town Monday night. They made a compassionate decision to put me in front of a few other customers and fix it right then. I am very grateful for this. Since this time I have learned from a few other people of the same type of service from them. The only thing I can say as a caution, I do not think they are set up for sports fietsen. I would not take my road bike to them, nor do they have the type of helmets, clothing and equipment there that I need for my road bike. However, they are perfect for the general commuter bicycle and children's bicycles.

They have…read moreBrompton and Brooks stuff here plus it seems they do custom builds of their own "Zwaan" bikes (which look gorgeous). Second, you need friendly and knowledgeable staff who are enthusiastic. They got both here. I came in for some tyres and maybe a new saddle. Sadly, I hit them in a moment where what I wanted wasn't in stock (odd because they had a great selection of Bromptons on the shelf already but maybe that's why all the tyre and brooks saddle I wanted was out). No problem. I'm having a problem with my rear dynamo light on my Brompton. Dude there helped me debug it (lights broken). Noticed I had an aftermarket part on my bike and said, hey I have some stuff from NOV Design for your bike. If you don't know they are a high end parts maker out of Korea - kinda hard to come by. He goes and pulls three boxes full of parts! Amazing! I had to stop myself from buying one of everything. Totally great! They also rent bikes here too if you need one on visit. Good people + Good parts = Good shop. It's that simple. But wait, then: Good people = Good shop - Good parts. Good (people) = Good (shop - parts). people = shop - parts. Ok forget my equation. It's still a great shop.
