Although I'm not the most fashionable, I do love a good haircut, and I've been looking for a newer, cheaper barber that would do the job. I enjoyed the experience (I'm not a huge talking when getting my hair cut) and the end product was a great fade. I didn't have cash on me, but he let me go to the nearby shell to get cash. Obviously, I came back and tipped him extra for not letting me be stuck there! Super great place and I would most definitely recommend!

Moved to Waxahachie about a year ago, and I've been to see Carly 3 times during that period (which…read moreis a RECORD for me - I have always gotten my hair done as rarely as possible). At Northgate Hair Design, my bill runs from about $65-85 before tip. I previously lived in Dallas, where the same service cost me OVER $300 before tip. And I promise, the service is NOT a downgrade. I love this little shop, and I'll continue to make a trip out to Waxahachie to get my hair done by Carly even if I move away.

I work 50 - 60 hours each week. I treat my clients with respect and always remember that they…read morechoose to use me and that they can choose NOT to use me. I work hard. So, when I decide to go to a hair appointment, I am going with certain expectations in mind. I expect quality service on my hair and I expect a courteous atmosphere where I can relax and enjoy the experience of paying someone to do something for ME. I have gone to Northgate several times and have gotten adequate if not spectacular hair colors but the prices are good... so I've been accepting; however, the last time I was there... I was talked to very rudely by the male owner. I just can't seem to get over it. My daughter called me just as I sat in the chair. She was telling me hello and I was in the process of telling her I could not talk (no joke... not on phone for more than 30 seconds) when the owner told me, quite loudly, to "... you need to put that up...". I did put it up. I sat quietly and listen to him loudly talk to various people about a trip he had taken... and I paid for my hair, leaving my stylist a tip and I left. I will not return. My daughter was in labor. I didn't find out till after I got out of the salon because I abruptly cut her off when I was scolded. I was NOT speaking loudly nor was I intending to continue to speak with her... but, really... I have the right to speak quietly on the phone. Perhaps I would be rude but I would be a rude CUSTOMER. I don't feel that I was rude, but I own that speaking on a phone in public can be viewed as such - but so is the way he spoke to me. He could have spoken to me in a decent tone... he could have given me a moment... he could have done a lot of things besides using the tone of voice that he did use. I will spend my money elsewhere.

They offered us drinks and we had a nice time admiring the decor. They had a lot of colors to chose from. I don't know the brand of the one I went with, it wasn't OPI, but the cooor was pretty, it just didn't last more than a couple days before it started to crack and chip. If I went back I'd make sure to bring my own or use the brands I know.

Just left here and OMG I am SO happy with my nails!!!…read more I just had a set done 2 weeks ago at Star Nails (pretty close by) and they were just awful. I made an appt today here at 4pm and got Annie. I showed her what I wanted (dip rounded almond nude with a thin french tip, and she NAILED it (no pun intended). She also saw that I came in with chrome on my last set and asked if I wanted the same on these - she showed me how it would look first, since chrome costs more to add - and it was actually so gorgeous. She took the time to be detailed oriented and precise. I literally thanked her for seeming to CARE about her workmanship. Prices were reasonable and I kinda like that they close a little earlier (6pm on Saturdays) because I know the staff is there all day. Will def be back!
