Had my daughter here in 2015 and my mind always goes back to the way I was treated during the delivery. I know 10 years later is crazy to leave a review but I just can't get it out of my head. First, I would like to say that I am a person of color and I know statistically that we are more likely to die during childbirth. Well, that is literally what almost happened to me. I had to have an emergency c-section and then almost bled to death and had to be taken back in to the operating room. I guess I had a blood clot as well. Nothing was explained to me at all and If the surgeon didn't notice that something was wrong, I don't think I would be here. It was just horrible care. I would also like to add that the nurse or whoever it is that checks you out at the desk before you leave the hospital, whoever was working Feb, 21 or 22 , 2015 is extremely racist and i sure hope she doesn't work there anymore. My first experience and my first time there, I was 30 minutes early for my appointment. I was sent to the waiting area to the lab. When I was called in and sent to a room, I was then told I didn't have anything lined up for the lab. Was then sent upstairs to a waiting area(which there was three of and didn't know which one to sit at and no one up there to direct). Fifty minutes after checking in, I got a text that said I missed my appointment. What!? I went back downstairs to inquire and was told I needed to reschedule and that I would not be seen even though I've been here waiting for nearly an hour. Next available would be another month before I could be seen (I was there to confirm if I had cancer or not, this is not what I needed to hear). Although I was upset, I was grateful the gals were eventually able to get me an opening with a different doctor in four days. When I came back and saw Dr. DeArmond, she was perfect and made me feel like I've come to the right place. On my next visit, when I was checking in, I was told that I needed to sign a form that said, "Because they don't work with my insurance company, I'll be responsible for all the billing costs". WHAT!!!???? Why would they let me accumulate medical expenses with them before telling me that they don't actually use my insurance!? I was absolutely blown away and incredibly disappointed as I REALLY wanted to be here and not go to Deaconess. I obviously left and went back to work dismayed. After calling my HR department with the company I work for to see if this was true, she said that Billings Clinic DOES work with our insurance, and to go back and tell them so! I did and they acknowledged the correction. We looked into rescheduling this appointment...... it would be another month. I couldn't believe it, just wow! I was so, so frustrated. I promptly cancelled that reschedule, as well as the appointments I had lined up for next month. I can't keep up with the disappointment or delay the health care I'm seeking. I was so excited to go here as all other experiences I've had elsewhere in Bozeman has been poor. I'm now actively trying to schedule multiple procedures with other practices in town, looking like I'll end up with Bozeman Health Services. If you can jump through all the clerical hoops here, be sure to see Dr. DeArmond, she's wonderful. Wish things would've turned out the way I'd hoped. They fail in every which way! They fail to help people in need by scheduling three months in advance, even when they have to reschedule! DO NOT go there for Behavioral Health if you can avoid it. Their focus on how they handle my disabled son seems to be focused on making things worse, when something as simple as allowing a contact number that comes to our landline rather than his personal cell (he still lives at home). Using that number that avoids him having panic attacks if the clinic calls to confirm upcoming appointments. He is disabled and the clinic knows he has a panic disorder as well as autism. They also refused to allow me to make appointments for him once he turned 18, but only the Behavioral Health Department has a problem with me doing so, the rest of the clinic does not. He is not capable of making his own appointments, so this is a huge problem, even though they know he's disabled. This request does not breach confidentiality I was told by his Psychiatrist, when I complained after my son's second panic attack at them changing the number back to his cell despite our request. He said he didn't know why I couldn't make an appointment, something I do for my elderly mother in other departments without a problem as nothing personal is involved at all. His response was finally for me to physically take my son into the clinic every 6 months and sign a release--which is a pain to do and yet we did--so I could simply call and make appointments for him. This allowed me to make appointments, but every time he goes in, they insist it be changed back to the cell phone which then causes panic attacks for him when they use it. The only solution was to go elsewhere, and Frontier Psychiatry has met his needs easily. But then my son went to the ER doubled over in pain last month and it happened AGAIN. Back to the refusal of using the landline. Rudely using the same phrase as before, informing me he's an adult and can't have a contact number that isn't his personal cell. It's insane. I guess we need to switch everything to St. V's because I honestly am out of ideas how to do this simple thing to help him. He is officially disabled and on SSI for this disorder. It actually makes his health worse, but they don't care. I've asked in other departments in the clinic and was told there is no rule saying that he can't use any contact number he wants and they change it back for us to the right number. My advice is to find someone through the St. Vincent network, or use Frontier Psychiatry which is online. read more

First the bad, I had what was supposed to be a routine ERCP, that was botched and resulted in necrotizing pancreatitis. Within 12 hours, i had to have a different doctor perform the same proceedure to resolve what the 1st doctor was suppose to do. I almost died, having to be life flighted to SLC, for 30 days, i lost 60 pounds, tubes hanging out of me everywhere. I could write a horror story, but to keep it short was the fact that Billings Clinic, after hearing about what happened, informed me the surgery went " as intended"!!!!!! While 1 really bad doctor almost killed me, 2 other Billings doctors in instrumental in helping to my recovery, and keeping me alive. Dr. Roberts, and Dr. Dull. Greatful to them, not so much to the Dr. that caused this, or the way Billings Clinic denied any wrong doing. It's been 2 years, i'm better, but will never be healthy as a result. The fact i was healthy going in, and my wife refusing to let me die, as well as 2 other doctors, is the reason i lived. I would not have almost died if the doctor would have performed my routine surgery competently, and Billings Clinic saying the surgery went as planned. Wow! My life was changed forever. read more

Doctors have no idea how to treat patients, my son saw this clinic 3 times. Sept ER, then Nov PC doctor. Not once he was ordered blood tests, even with his very HPB high and being so underweight, doctors there had no concern about his health. He had lost weight from his first visit to the last. Each times doctors stated that CTs and lab work were not required. My son died this January from a massive stroke caused by his HBP that rupture the brain tumors he had due to the Acute Leukemia that these doctors could've been able to diagnose had they done the proper testings on any of my son's visits. I'm in shock the level of care these doctors provide to their patients, 3 doctors signed on his last visit to the primary physician. After reading my son's records I'm appalled this clinic and these doctors are still practicing. read more

My doctors and the radiologist are great. However the receptionist on the second floor for Surgery, Andrea M, was rude. Was there with husband and I had to return in 3 days for me . It started when I started to ask her a question and she snapped at me she said could not help me because she was on husbands . I was simply going to ask her for a card with the address of this location because it's very confusing and we went to the wrong place and had to walk through buildings to get there. As I was looking at my phone to put in ( never gave me the card) an address she loudly accused me of trying to take her picture. She did this in front of the patients in the waiting room and other staff members. She was also rude to the lady she was ( assuming) training. She would not stop remarking about people trying to take her picture. Why would anyone want to take her picture is beyond me. I finally had to walk out of the room. This behavior is unacceptable. Mist patients are there for ailments. They don't need to deal with a sour front desk clerk. I have never in my life been treated so rudely and unprofessional in my entire life. Shame on her and she needs to learn how to wipe her bad day face off and be more respectful. I see quite a few doctors at this facility and all are extremely supportive and kind. Montana, be afraid-this is supposedly the "best" you've got. Speaking from both sides of the table, it's a disaster. Professionally, the management is a joke-they can't figure out when jobs are open or filled, they play the power game, calling people in for interviews for positions that are not open, snake talk the interviewee into thinking it was an honest mistake and then push another hiring agenda; as if that is in any way acceptable or professional. Incompetence, lack of professionalism, and cheap complacency is what they strive for. The HR department probably doesn't know which end is up. Additionally, when physicians in rural Billing's Clinic affiliated hospitals make jokes about how surprised they are if patients are discharged without leaving in a body bag- what does that tell you-GO to the next state over for healthcare! They hire cheap labor, filling vital positions with H1-B Visa workers. Travelers are the mainstay. They don't want to pay the good people of Montana decent wage, so they fill positions with cheap "slave-wage" foreigners or traveler contracted staff to fill gaps-this can be risky as a patient care model. TLDR; Billings Clinic is rotten to the core and needs a severe overhaul I had a very intense, bizarre, and dangerous experience with Billings Clinic over the weekend. My mom was very concerned about me and asked if I would be willing to get a psych eval at BC. So I obliged. When we got there I surrendered my THC and CBD at the door, as I was told they could be nowhere on the premises. Cool. Then we got in and I checked in. As we were waiting I started noticing the funny little signs and since I've been on a kick with taking pictures of signs around town, I started taking pics of the COVID sign and the anti-aggression signs. I chuckled out loud at the fact that they chose the most aggressive-looking guy it was rather ironic. This caught his attention. I was absolutely off my rocker and called his sleeves jail or gang tats, I don't remember. (I have pretty bad medical PTSD.) He proceeded to tell me I was committing a felony and violating HIPPA, so I immediately switched to video, started recording and asked him for a badge number. I also told him I understood HIPPA as I'm basically a professional patient and also an artist and I would blur out anything identity or sensitive. He aggressively insisted I was committing a felony. He called the police in and they got involved. I filmed the whole scene just in case I needed something later. Long story short I got cuffed, two IMs, and locked up in the psych ER room. They took my phone and it's still with security. They wouldn't let me have it back over the weekend after my psychiatrist, Dr.Birch, agreed it was in my best interest to go home. The two Reys, Brandon, and Taylor were mint. Officer Bigelow, you should not be a police officer. Thank you for telling me that people like me are the reason police officers are overworked. Popo please. Officer 420, thanks for putting up with me, please don't ever cuff someone in my situation again, however I realize you were doing what you thought was right at the time. Unable to speak to a person and had to leave messages for a person that was out of town due to not having anyone else to answer the phone. The problem is that "TRIAGE" is definitely an issue, you get some nurses who are as compassionate as the 'Gate Guard' at San Quentin....I am not a fan of the 'triage' system, however it is necessary to save lives. My pain was terrible but I should not take the spot of someone having a cardio event or life threatening event, thus TRIAGE. I waited 2.50 hours to see Dr. Winters, he and the entire nursing staff could not have been more professional and accommodating. My personal Dr. called and checked on me and I was treated like a person who was not well and they have done all they could to make me better. Being from Los Angeles I recall vividly what a total circus the hospitals are there...24 / 7! Thank God that we in Billings have a medical facility like Billings Clinic ER and St. Vincents in this very special city. *** The security guards could be replaced with Artificial Intelligence, as what you are confronted with upon entering is absolutely silly. Billings Clinic has a confusing deal going on. We all want to be worked on and seen as a patient, but BC has a confusing practice going on. Pride flags on their name tags. To me, this does NOT promote inclusivity, it promotes negative feeling, confusion at the least. If a Christian comes in, see's these flags, they know that there is a lack of morality. If a person is uncomfortable with that person flying its flag, do you request someone else? With the LBGTQ F... whatever movement... where is the inclusivity? Just for them and NOT for anyone else in THEIR group? From now on, whomever treats me with these racial (whatever) pride flags, I will be requesting a different person because they do NOTHING BUT PROMOTE divisiveness. Billings Clinic is very different than St. Vincent Hospital. If you have a sick family member with a Failing Heart and the Dr. calls you in the middle of the night telling you they may not survive and you go in to see them, they would not let me in early. I came at 6:30 and the nurse said she could let me in at 7:30 due to Hipa so I came back at 7:30. Which was 1/2 hour early because visiting hours started at 8:00. I get there and tell me I have to wait until 9:00. I found Billings Clinic don't care about family. I was nice but most of them were Rude to me when I even asked a question. St. Vincent is a caring hospital. I will change all my medical needs to a more caring hospital. read more

My kid was administered for a week long visit. The medical staff was very supportive and provided my child with great care. But i really like the mixed vanilla/chocolate pudding, and the free food within the pediatric unit only had the individual vanilla and chocolate pudding. My husband and I have had to do IVF to have a baby, the first round stuck and worked. Sadly it ended in a miscarriage because the fertility dr didn't check my thyroid or A1C levels. I was pre diabetic and found I have hypothyroidism, which are both horrible to have while pregnant. Our baby stopped growing at 7.5 weeks. We had a hard time getting ahold of the Dr when we were first beginning last fall, and even harder to get into now with only 1 IVF Dr. I do give credit to the nurses though, they tried to get those lab levels checked, but if their boss says NO, nothing could be done. We would go elsewhere to have a baby via IVF, but my husband works here and they will only cover that at this hospital. Oh and they also treat their cleaning crew like crap as well! read more

My son has been seen at Billings clinic due to his condition. There isn't another facility that is within the state that was able to perform his reflux condition. The coordination between departments, let alone normal communication has been horrendous. His chart showed he had other medical conditions in which he was never diagnosed. I seriously have concerns that at this point if he was to have to undergo surgery they wouldn't even do surgery on the right part of the body. I had to call in a prescription, and they have outsource that out of the country whom they don't speak English.. I can't believe this is now our medical facility in Billings, Montana. The nurses are rude and on a power trip. They do not care about the patients. They do not explain procedures and are rude and impatient when you ask questions. My daughter had told the nurse, who was being rough with her, that she was hurting her. The nurse was completely indifferent. My daughter wound up with bruises on her wrists. They have a policy that all bills must be paid in full within 1 year. They sent my daughters bill to insurance twice. After about 7 months I had a remaining balance of seven thousand dollars. I was faithfully making payments every month. They informed me that I would have to be on a payment plan which would have the bill paid in full within the next three months or they would turn me over to collections. In order to avoid this it would have required me to make payments of over $1500/mo. Which I informed them was financially impossible. I offered to pay half if they would send my daughters father half of the bill. They wouldn't even consider it. read more

They put me on a 30 year loan, only to be transferred to a different payment plan that was twice as much...and since they did that, screwed me out of the statute of limitations. When transferred from a different hospital the patient must get up and go specifically tell the nursing staff, yes I am on medications that need to continue. Billings Clinic is a joke. I had a doctor in the heights location and the west end location. I even went to a behavioral health specialist in the downtown location. They don't care about your health, not truly. My primary physician is more concerned about looking into my vag*na than anything else. And when I asked to switch doctors at the behavioral health clinic they told me that I can't. And when I explained this to my primary doctor she did put in the referral but still continues on about my vag*na. The referral was denied by the way. They told me that I can't switch doctors. My primary care doctor literally was heartless while speaking with me, speaking down to me like I was a child. "Honey" "Sweetie" telling me that she will refuse to prescribe me anything without a PAP smear being performed. WOW. Just WOW. She had no problem prescribing me anything before and I wasn't even there for prescriptions. I didn't even mention prescriptions. So I left feeling defeated and unheard. The staff here was friendly and helpful. It is a large facility that more than likely has any type of physician or specialist you might need. It is centrally located and easy to find parking at the facility. I wasn't completely satisfied with the doctor I went to see but that can change. A word of warning though, watch out for students working in the lab. I had a student trying to draw my blood which didn't end well but a supervisor stepped in and took over the job without causing too much harm to my arms. read more
