We swam the lap lanes across the width of the pool. Nice water here. Clear. A bit warm for lap swimming. We swam 2 miles! Great lifeguard team here, particularly paying attention to enhanced safety! The locker rooms are dated and need an upgrade as well as frequent cleaning. Power outlets in the locker rooms for hair dryers and electric shavers are needed. The location within the park is great. The pool is huge and popular! Check it out! We did. We will be back when we are in the area.

If you're in Grand Junction visiting, you need to stop in, the waters nice. Here is the description of the pool from the city website: The City of Grand Junction Parks and Recreation Department operates this seasonal swimming facility from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day weekend. Lincoln Park-Moyer Pool and Water slide is conveniently located in Lincoln Park on the corner of 12th and North Avenue. This 50 meter outdoor pool features a waterslide (sliders must be at least 3'6" tall), Splash Pad water playground, a 13' diving well with 1 meter and 3 meter diving boards, and a separate, shallow water (2' - 4') instructional tank. The pool has an extensive grass area, concession area, shade shelters, and pool deck furniture. Floatation devices and toys of reasonable size are permitted in restricted areas of the pool. Lockers are available inside the bathhouse. Instructional classes are offered, and the facility can be rented for private parties during non-public hours. Our 35' x 40' Splash Pad integrates play structures and water features into the Lincoln Park - Moyer Pool facility. The Splash Pad is available during public swim time for regular admission price as well as during the morning Learn to Swim program for a reduced rate. This play area is designated for users under 3'6". Non toilet trained participants must wear a swim diaper while in the play area. http://www.gjcity.org/CityDeptWebPages/ParksRecreation/Aquatics/Aquatics.htm

There are plenty of 24 hour gyms who's hours are much more accommodating for people trying to get healthy or up their cardio. MRC closes way too soon and opens really late. That's its first problem. My wife was told she couldn't have our 7 month old baby anywhere with her except the jog track and the pool. Mind you my wife has our baby strapped to her chest while she works out at all times. She does not use the equipment. She does not use the gym machines. She does not occupy areas occupied by other gym members lifting weights. She finds an unoccupied area not being used and does stretches and exercises prescribed by her physical therapist with her baby. Being new parents we are not comfortable leaving our baby with strangers in their child watch area. I'm sure all the parents here can understand that. The child care team members I have met are very kind and polite. This is a parental instinct and concern not an accusation against the staff. There was no exception made or solution sought-after for my wife's workout needs and her parental rights. The policy gets in the way of the gym member trying to use the facility. I understand safety and liability rules and I don't begrudge MRC for taking precautions but excluding parents from more than half of the centers options for a liability clause rather than trying to find a work around for a mother who's schedule with a newborn is hard enough doesn't really serve the community. This is not the first time or the first person who has been turned away from MRC because of a stupid policy. A gym needs to be accommodating to the needs of its members. Golds gym has excellent accommodation in the smallest matters for its members. Anytime fitness is available at 2 in the morning if your schedule is full. MRC is inflexible and it's management had a, "my way or the high way" kind of mentality. My wife has physical therapy she is going through due to complications with her pregnancy and she is also a mother of a newborn baby. MRC couldn't be bothered to accommodate her as a gym member needing a place for physical therapy and motherhood. I wonder what else and who else they would ignore for their backwards policies.

There were plenty of park rangers helping everyone when we visited. We had quite a few questions on the North Rim, and they were able to help us plan our visit there without issue. They have a nice bookstore with plenty of BCGNP merch. Plenty of exhibits to learn more about the park. One of the most important things - they have WiFi. South Rim does not have any internet service, so if you need to look something up for your trip and plug in a route on maps for your trip down the mountain, great stop to get that sorted out. Also has bathrooms - always a plus. Parking can be a bit chaotic here. The lot was full, but there's a lot of movement as people don't stay very long. If you don't find a spot on your first drive-through, you'll have to leave the lot, go back to the road, and circle back. Definitely recommend stopping by, especially if you're planning a visit to the North Rim.

Not a dealbreaker as it's still a nice spot with pretty nice park rangers. I found the gift shop employees here to be a bit less friendly than other National Parks I've visited, but my kiddo still earned a Jr. Ranger badge and we still had a great time exploring and using this spot as our starting off point.
