Nice enough hotel, but the temperature only varies by 3 degrees up or down. I'd hate to be there in the summer or winter. Getting ice was a challenge. read more

And for Christmas time, even better. It's right in the middle, between two different christmas market. For sure you won't get bored here. I was here with my partner and friends for christmat market at the weekend. And we were staying in the really nice rooms. The room that we were staying was really big. It even got the small room just for the luggages and cloths. The view from our vindow was quite nice as well. The TV was a bit hidden. It took some seconds to find it. But the room did make me feel really comfortable. The breakfast of the hotel was really great, it offered quite a lot different food to choose from. The design of the place it really gave me warm feeling at the same time really classy. The chistmas decorations were all around the place, really nice atmosphere in the air. I didn't find that one point a bit inconvenient, it really took a while to get back to our room. Basically, I had to walk around the whole place to get there. And even they offered free internet, which was great, but it was really slow. But at the end of the day, I think, I could oversee that on my review. We all had a great time and enjoyed our staying at this hotel very much. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I am glad that we were able to stay here in the hot holiday timing. Brilliant!

Gym was small but very nice with new looking equipment: just one treadmill, an elliptical, yoga ball. View to the outside was very nice. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival with the quality and value for the price. It's by no means a luxury or fancy hotel, but in terms of budget hotels it's one of the best I have been to. There are a lot of little extras provided here that make it a great value and pleasant place to stay when visiting Dresden. There is a very large lobby area with stylish tables and seating, and the check in desk doubles as a bar. At the check in area one can order alcoholic beverages and snacks. The prices are reasonable. Many patrons take advantage of this service, and as a result the lobby area is lively. In the same lobby area they have their breakfast buffet. The quality of the offerings in the buffet are extensive, and it is well worth the extra 9.50 Euro charge. The room was larger than many single rooms you find in Germany. The hotel itself is a fully modern building, and they have card keys for the rooms and there is no need therefore to turn in your key when you leave There are a few nice details in the building. When you enter your room, there is a slot to place your card key, which turns on all the lights and the TV. There is a switch right next to the bed that also controls all the lights--this is nice, not to have to get out of bed to find the light switch. The televisions show a screen saver image with soft music or sound effects instead of an advertisement before you switch the channel. The bathroom has a few stylish details, such as an external basin and a very large and powerful shower head. The shower is also behinds a glass wall instead of a cheap curtain. The location is very good--it's only about three quarters of a mile from the city center, and it's a very nice walk there across the Elbe. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, either in Dresden or in any of the other cities where they also are located.

I love taking the train when traveling around Europe! The rooms are very basic, but clean. Shower was a tight squeeze but the towels were white and new. I really wanted to give this hotel 5 stars. They have excellent customer service. I found them…read moreextremely friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was quite good and my room was nice. I liked the location too which is on a relatively quiet street outside of the city center. BUT...I found their wireless Internet to be frustratingly slow and, at times, barely useable. I'm not talking about downloading movies! I'm talking about accessing websites like Airbnb or VRBO--both of which I had trouble loading. I finally did access the sites after a lot of frustration but it took me a couple of hours for something which would have taken a half an hour with decent broadband. Also, I have four devices that access the Net--an iPad, a Kindle and 2 iPhones (the older one is unlocked so I can use SIM cards in Europe). In order to get online, I needed different passwords for each device which I had to go to the front desk to get. These would time out periodically, forcing me to enter them again. At first, I didn't keep track of which device used which password. They kindly issued new passwords and then I started keeping track. Suffice it to say that if fast and reliable Internet is something you need, this is NOT the place for you. Especially if you need to upload anything! The download speed was a little over 1 Megabit but the upload speed was a minuscule 0.05 Megabits! Forget about uploading your photos to the cloud (as I was hoping to do). If the Internet is not important to you I encourage to check this place out. Apart from my frustrations online, I really enjoyed my stay! Check out their "half board" option for dinner. You can get a great 3 course meal for less than $20!
