Once you find this little gem (tucked away through an archway) you are not only greeted by a very industrial and quirky design, but also by the smiles and chatter of the regular yogis and teachers alike.
The practice is the same as in pretty much all other Bikram studios around the world, although I believe the studio owner, Emma, is a star in her own right. With her impressive knowledge, years of teaching experience and sometimes drill-sergeant instructions, she makes sure that you get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself every day again.
This studio puts particular focus on the discipline in the room, so that everybody has a chance to meditate, go within and enjoy all the benefits of this series.
What makes this studio truly amazing to me is the welcoming feeling extended to everybody who comes through that door. Independent of age, weight, language, social class or even medical condition, you will feel like you belong from the first moment. Many yogis come early and stay late to chatter and share before and after class and the various social events that are organised over the year ensure that you don't only find a new physical challenge but also a social group of like-minded people to share time with even away from the yoga.
The studio is always immaculately clean, the showers a real treat and even though in comparison to other studios there might be a lack of luxury items and extras, you won´t miss anything you need for your yoga experience. read more
