Portions are generous, and the sides are just as good as the main dishes. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and service was quick even during a busy time. Not sure if they've stepped things up recently or if I just came on a good day, but I left completely satisfied. Based on my visit, Famous Dave's absolutely deserves 5 stars. The food served at this location, in my opinion, is just as good as the locations in the U.S., if not slightly better.

Towards the end of my vacation, I wondered if Steinbach had a Salisbury House. My research showed that the eatery across from the hotel where I was staying at was a Sal's. It's now Chuck's Roadhouse Bar and Grill. A couple of evenings before I was set to fly out of Winnipeg, I returned to the hotel and parked. I then carried my drink caddy and bag into this Chuck's for dinner. There is parking around Chuck's. There are lots between the two businesses. I was greeted by a woman. She let me know that there was a booth and she'd get that wiped down. Cool. While waiting for her to return, another fairly young female staffer looked at the booth and asked if it was a party of four. I looked at her and said that it was me. All because the booth seats four and I'm waiting for it does not equate that I am representing a party of four. Super awkward. Why assume? I got led to my booth. I got a menu. I knew what I wanted. I craved the sirloin and lobster tail. I haven't had it since the pandemic when I ordered takeout from the Chuck's in Whitchurch-Stouffville. Malika was my server. She was attentive and wonderful while I dined here. I ordered the following items: - 7-ounce top sirloin and lobster tail - Diet Coke I substituted the fries for mashed potatoes for an additional $1.99. It was a good move. The Diet Coke was icy cold and fizzy. I loved it. Malika made sure that I had refills throughout my meal. Towards the end of my meal, I took the remaining ice in my final glass of Diet Coke and added it to my strawberry lemonade that I had been sipping earlier. She thought that it was brilliant that I re-chilled my drink. I liked that I didn't let the ice go to waste after I had finished my Diet Coke! My main had arrived. It looked good. Malika asked that I check that my sirloin's doneness was good. It was different. I hadn't taken a photo of my dish. However, it was a pro to make sure that the steak was prepared to my liking. I cut through my sirloin and it was perfect. It's standard procedure here. I don't know if that's a change since I last ordered a sirloin and dined in at Chuck's. Oh, how I have missed this meal! The steak was yummy. I thoroughly enjoyed eating it. The lobster tail was excellent. It was so fresh and perfectly done. I like that all the hard work was done to get the lobster tail meat on to top of the shell. I did pick at the latter to make sure that I got all the meat out. It was so tasty, especially with the clarified butter. I also dunked my sirloin morsels, corn, and mashed potatoes into the clarified butter. The mashed potatoes were so comforting. The skins were left, which I liked. The mashed potatoes were creamy, buttery, and delicious. I love corn. I was expecting it on the cob. This place took the work out of everything! I got corn kernels and they were perfect. My server asked if I wanted dessert. I frankly couldn't fit it in. She got me the bill, which was great. I paid with a credit card. I tipped and tapped. Done! We had a good chat about Steinbach. She said that it's small, but has everything. I completely agree, including this Chuck's. I'd dine here again when I'm in the city. (239)

This past Tuesday, a friend and I went there for dinner before the Dasha concert down the street at the Park Theatre. The lone waitress shared that it was her second shift. The place was packed and we waited an eternity for our drinks, and what should have been an enjoyable dining experience ended up being a tense, unpleasant few hours. The waitress was not to be faulted at all. The management should have known to have another server given that a packed to the rafters concert was going on a block away. The food was great, but I will be hard pressed to go back there again.

I drove a friend over to this restaurant, parked, and went in. Tony Roma's is known for its ribs. I have been to this location twice in my life. Did I ever order ribs? Nooo! Back then, I was still developing my love for food. My first time, I ordered a top sirloin steak with shrimp. The steak was so good and flavourful. I remember how happy I was eating it. The shrimp were perfectly done. The next time, I ordered wings. They were delicious! Wings are my lifeline. On one of these visits, I had an amazing dessert. It was a chocolate brownie in a small black skillet, with vanilla ice cream on top. It was fantastic. I don't see that on the menu these days, which is a bummer. However, there is a dessert trio with my name written all over it to consume. Sadly, this Tony Roma's location is currently closed due to COVID-19. When I am back in Winnipeg, I'd love to drop by this location and give the ribs a try, along with dessert. (137)

Both of ours were both way overcooked. I let our server know when she asked, but not as a complaint. She let us know that she would be right out with our refills. Instead, a guy brought us ours, and when he put them onto the table, he didn't let go of them, and stared us in the eye, back and forth. It was really odd, especially because he turned out to be the manager. Chris was argumentative, confrontational, and belittling. I let him know that I had said that the steaks weren't done how we had ordered them. He asked us if we even know the "correct" doneness of a steak, and proceeded to tell us that we really didn't. He made quite a big issue out of it. So much so, that he went back to the kitchen to get his chart, and pointed out each level. He stared us in the eye and was defensive and challenging. I rarely go out to eat, so this was supposed to be a nice, relaxing occasion for some great food. I was really looking forward to it. It was the absolute opposite when Chris came out like some sort of pit bull. I feel bad for the staff at this location, because if he was willing to treat two complete strangers this way, he definitely is this way to the people around him. One thousand per cent DO NOT recommend!! Do not even think about coming here. Tell your friends, to save them the hassle.

We walked in with accessibility needs, and they happily sat us down in the lower level at our convenience, at a large table (two tables together) so that we could get our group arranged with ease. They happily provided as much water as we needed throughout our time. Service was prompt and attentive. The ambiance was only okay, especially being in a side room; the main room is 3 steps up but felt more like the body of a restaurant vs. the trailer of a classic NJ diner. We also all had to walk up in the end and pay separate checks instead of getting 1 or more checks delivered to our table. Diner style, sure, but not what we were expecting coming in. So I would say, between the food (we all really went breakfast-oriented), the service, and the atmosphere, it's somewhere around 4 stars on average.
