Another nice and shaded park on the other of the playground. A lot of people out enjoying a Sunday afternoon picnic here. There's at least 2-3 large shaded sets of picnic tables and sections of open space to enjoy activities in the park. read more

Great playground. Trash everywhere when we came, but shortly after I thought that, the parks service came to clean it up (must've just been a crazy weekend). Good size playground, good variety of equipment, bathrooms nearby. I personally don't like that there's an entrance on both sides of the bathroom - so all you helicopter moms might wanna go in and watch your little ones. Right next to the community pool, which we also loved. Great place to stop and stretch your legs if passing through with kids on a road trip. read more

If you are ever crossing through Nevada on I-80 with kids, you MUST stop in Elko so you can hit up Big Orv's Playground. We took the two kids (3 & 1) on their first major road trip and when they started to get restless, we stopped for lunch in Elko and Google mapped the nearest playground. So glad my wife found this place. It is amazing! I wish I could have played on it when I was a kid. It is nearly all wood, but has been updated with Trex, so no slivers and it stays somewhat cool in the hot Nevada sun. This is the new fangled recycled plastic playground equpment that kids can only play on before the sun goes up or after it goes down during the summer. This playground is huge and has multiple stations and levels. The second best thing is that it is right next to the Elko community pool which has three big water slides and lots of other cool stuff to find. So if you stop, have a swimsuit ready as well. Seriously, never thought I'd say it, but if you want to give your kids an awesome time on a long road trip, stop in Elko! read more

Day 3 of being cooped up in the car had The Boy in desperate need of some place to run and play for a bit. So, as we approached Elko, it was decided we'd go on the hunt for a park to explore for a bit before taking the final 300 miles of our drive. We truly stumbled upon quite a green with this playground! A short, convenient detour off of I80, the variety of license plates in the parking lot hinted that we are among several weary travelers looking for a break for their little ones. There also were several groups of locals hanging out, and I could immediately see why this park would be a locals' favorite as well. The play structure is giant...really the largest I've seen...with a lot of variety in fun ways for kiddos to climb and chase and slide. The fact that it was so different from the usual park playgrounds had The Boy feeling like we'd made another special discovery along our trip, rather than "just" stopping at a park to stretch our legs and burn off some energy. read more

This place is super cute and a welcome rest stop on the long drive between CA and UT. Let my 1 year old go down the tube slide to discover the slide was soaked in urine. So gross! Also seemed to be lots of teens smoking while we were there. read more

My husband and I consider ourselves playground conisures, we have been all over the world, we didn't think that the US would allow such a cool park. Totally unexpected in Elko. Our kids loved it. I agree with the last reviewer. If you are driving through you must stop. read more
