I called because when the Roadie from UPS, Tyler B brought my order, he failed to leave the entire order. I spoke with Kelly who was the most obnoxiously rude person I have ever had to deal with. We're visiting the quaint hamlet of Pulaski Tennessee on this late spring Saturday. Pulaski is home…read moreof the world renowned Sun Drop Festival, and also home to other unsavory happenings back in the 1800s, but we're beyond that I'm hoping. The happenings on this day were of a more civil nature and consisted of a number of fair vendors setting up shop around the historic town square. Reeves Drugstore is housed in a string of old brick buildings that also line the square. Its charm is old school from the get-go. When I opened their front door and stepped in, it was like stepping back into my childhood. Immediately, I thought, dang, we had one of these in our downtown. In fact, three! Newberrys, Thrifty, and Woolworth. All had lunch counters, and all served up tasty food offerings just like Reeves. Reeves also has an ice cream counter. $1.75 for a scoop! If you're lucky, you'll get the young lady who scooped up ours. She packs it into the base of the cone before putting a generous scoop on top. My Butter Pecan cone was solid. There were plenty of pecans mixed in. Some in every bite. We didn't need any drugs on this visit. We were pretty high from the Sun Drop soda, Sun Drop cake, freeze-dried gummy bears, and of course, ice cream. But if you're in need of some kind of pill, tincture, or sundry, you'll be in good hands at Reeves. Quick Tip: The folks who work at Reeves are honest, hard-working townspeople. Polite as can be. If you're in need of some sincere southern hospitality, they'll give it by the bushel. Please give them your business, and reward them with a smile.

Leigh and her team of expert woodworkers not only built us the bar of our dreams, but a bar that…read morecompletely transformed our basement and the neighborhood we live in. Our bar is not your typical 'basement bar' and the team at Karmal Skillington are not your typical cabinet makers. I worked hand in hand with Leigh to design an "Irish Pub" that rivals any commercial bar in the City of Brentwood, Tennessee. Seriously... Any bar, in any restaurant, does not come close. The bar, named after our dog "Bourbon 'O Hayden's" is a behemoth of a bar, measuring approximately 15ft in length by 10.5ft deep. It's built from a combination of beautiful reclaimed hemlock and white oak, which was used for the bar top and counters. Leigh went out of her way to source the perfect wood (even driving out of State to get it!) and she really honed in on the details. Not only did Leigh check off all the boxes on my extensive list of must haves, but she checked off boxes that I had never even imagined. This bar has everything, ample wine and whiskey storage, custom drawers and shelves for an array of glassware and bar tools, two built-in kegerators, a beautiful brass foot rail, a built-in beverage/wine fridge and even a custom cabinet to store a collection of tap handles. Leigh didn't stop there. Once the bar was complete, she helped to transform the space even further with 9 floating shelves and a custom barn door which was designed to resemble the St. Jame's Gate in Dublin, Ireland. A door that has protected the Guinness Beer Empire since 1759, now has a little brother in Brentwood, TN and it's a custom-made work of art! Our Irish Pub is now the local hangout for our neighborhood and has become a great escape for my wife and I. We can't wait to host friends and family for yearly Superbowl's, Oktoberfest's and of course, St. Paddy's Day. We highly recommend Leigh and her team of artisans for any job BIG or small. They knocked our project out of the park and we could not be happier with the finished product. CHEERS!

As time has passed more and more spots have flaked off like cardboard showing the inner layer that looks just like cardboard fibers. It's totally unpresentable and looks like it came from a thrift store for $100.

We stopped at the Welcome Center but they weren't offering any wagon tours on the day we visited. So, we took a look around the shop instead. I bought a spiral wind spinner but nothing else appealed to me, mostly looked like donations. Some things were hand made but overall, it felt like it was more of a Goodwill than anything. It was cluttered and unorganized. My grandma and aunt wanted to use the restrooms on site but said they were extremely dirty and decided to use a local gas station's instead. The Amish are very nice people but there are rules. Don't take photos of them, some believe it takes their souls and others believe it expresses individualism. If you aren't Amish, be prepared to have people staring at you and the kids are not supposed to talk to anyone unless making a sale. Overall, everything was affordable and during our drive around, we purchased some peanut brittle, jams, and jarred veggies. Just bring cash, of course. It would be nice to come back and take a wagon tour but it also feels weird that our modern-day culture sees the Amish as some sort of entertainment. So, I'm very indifferent about this experience.
