Service is quick and friendly but I'm just not a fan of the pizza. It's definitely the product of a Scandinavian cook: heavy on the cheese and very light on the very bland sauce. It's too bad - the crust is great and the toppings are plentiful. They also offer some interesting combinations. For now it's 3 stars as I can't bring myself to knocking them down to two - I'm sure the pizza is exactly what they are shooting for - something for the tater tot hotdish loving Midwestern palate. I'll probably give them one more shot and ask for more sauce or try the spicy red sauce - especially since I drive past it on so many trips to and from North Dakota. read more

Awesome! Cute little place for lunch/dinner with an ice cream shop next door. The pizza looked delicious, but my crabby husband didn't want to wait that long so he had a wrap and I had the ravioli. As a vegetarian in the bacon-loving Midwest, I am always sooo happy when at least one item on the menu does not feature meat. read more

This pizza was excellent. Cooked perfectly and the crust is superb... Crispy outside and chewy inside, flavorful. They let you get half and half of any of their specialty pizzas for $1 more, which is awesome because then you can try two. I had half supreme and half spinach Alfredo. The spinach Alfredo was OK, however I couldn't taste the Alfredo because there was too much cheese. The Supreme was great. I can't wait to try some of the other flavors! read more

This is seriously some of the best pizza I've ever eaten. The hot dish pizza is brilliant, subtle with a cream of mushroom base for the sauce and wild rice dashed in. The biggest surprise was the crab wonton pizza, with a sweet chili sauce and fried lefse chips on top. Absolutely amazing. I'd drive a fur piece for this pizza pie. Service was great, nice small town atmosphere. The locals didn't even look at us city folk funny. Great stuff. read more

I ordered pizza to go on my way driving from Minneapolis to Canada after searching what food options I had close to me on the road, and it was outstanding. I ordered two of the specialty pizzas - half hot and sour and half hot dish pizza- and both were full of flavor and loaded with ingredients. The crust was phenomenal. I've been intrigued by this place after seeing it pop up in my friends and relatives news feeds. After all, when one hears the names Ole and Lena, one immediately thinks of pizza, right? I did my due diligence which led me to believe that Ole and Lena do know their way around a pizza oven. Finally, I had the chance to go there, try their pizza, and buy a t-shirt. All I can say is "mama mia", or rather, "Uff da", thatsa good pizza, I mean that's a good lefse. I had the Uff da, which is basically any kind of beef and pork product available, the kids had the cheese and the pepperoni pizza, while my skinny wife had the Asian chicken salad. Reports all came in more than positive. pizza is delicious, a proper amount of crunch and chew without being doughy or shingle like. Simply delectable. On my way out, checked with the proprietor to see if he had a sweet t-shirt for me. Unfortunately, he didn't have one, he did say he'd be getting a new shipment next week. Lucky for both of us, I'm in the area for a couple of weeks. Ole and Lena's is now part of the annual pilgrimage home. read more

When Ole & Lena's Pizza was 'fresh' at "Cenex" in Barnesville the pizza was great. Went to "Purple Goose" and also in "Super Value" in Barnesville the 'frozen' product quality dropped considerably; pizza was hard and crust was hard and like paper, toppings were sparse. Please go back to your roots at Rothsay. read more

This was by far the worst dining experience I've ever had. After a long day of moving my mother-in-law into her new home, we were all starving for a good pizza. I arrived with 4 other people, and decided to take a table upstairs since it was pretty crowded around dinner time. It took almost 20 minutes until our server Robin finally came over to take our orders. It doesn't seem long, but considering she kept coming upstairs and getting everyone else drinks and talking, it seemed rude. It also took about 10 minutes for our drinks. We had debated over leaving the restaurant then but decided we had no idea where else to go to eat in Rothsay so we stayed. She finally came with our drinks and took our orders. The sodas were all very flat and strong, but we were extremely thirsty so we drank them. After another 10 minutes, and empty glasses, we watched as Robin came up to the locals I'm guessing, got them all more drinks, was very talkative and laughing. We tried to get her attention since it was so busy, she looked at us, then left. We assumed she was going to get us our drinks, waited another 5-10 minutes, and went downstairs to get them ourselves. All of the servers were very rude there, and just took our cups, filled them up, and turned away. When we returned upstairs, it was another 5 minutes until our food came. We were quite disappointed that the food was so plain, and home-made like. Honestly, I could have made better nachos at home. Once again, we were ignored and had to fill our own glasses downstairs. Robin never came up to us to ask how our food was or anything. So, we had to go downstairs AGAIN to get a take home box, more drinks, and a dessert. I've never had to try so hard to get a servers attention, not to mention, fill my own drink on multiple occasions. read more
