It was empty inside, but that may have been because it was only just lunchtime. I ordered my chips, which were quite cheap and the guy that served me was very pleasant and asked me if I was having a nice day. I think that when the staff are nice it always makes a difference and I am more than likely to return because of this. My chips were quickly served to me as they had some already ready and I left the place so that I could eat them elsewhere. When I did get down to eating them I was impressed, they were yummy and hot and all I wanted. Overall, great chips and worth a visit!

I ordered a small portion of chips which was cheap and a can of coke. The staff were pleasant and chatty, which was nice and I did not have to wait long at all to get my chips. It was fairly big inside too and so if you had to queue there would be enough room inside. Overall, I think this is a pretty standard chippy, which is worth a visit if you live in the local area.

It's easy to see why Mr Dyer would be impressed - George and Helen have been running this shop since the 60s and the food here is excellent. Chips are crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside and the fish is obviously fresh and comes in a delicious batter. Mushy peas are also good and I can also vouch for their curry sauce. It's a popular place (or should I say 'plaice' - geddit?!) - particularly at the weekends, so be prepared to queue. I'm fairly sure you can park up outside - otherwise you'll need to stuff your chips in your coat and head out to the number 24 bus - which stops outside.

Over time, the Sunday dinner came back with vengeance and kicked Kent Road into touch. I have since visited the fish bar only one, last week to be precise and I must admit, consistency is key, and yet again it was A-OK. I'm not a huge fan of fish & chips anyway, but reasonable prices, friendly chatty staff and fair portions all count in favour of Kent Road, for those who can't get enough of their fish & chips.
