We popped in here for a quick work lunch and the place was nice and spacious, chilled with excellent service . The menu consisted of your generic pub grib perhaps a better version of Wetherspoons? I also appreciated how the food had the nutritional value on some dishes too. I ordered the smashed avocado with poached egg the waitress tempted me into getting some bacon too. It ended up being a great portion. The avocado was perfect as well as the egg super impressed for £7. My colleagues all seemed to enjoy their food too from chicken skewers to mac n cheese. Overall seems a nice cheap n cheerful place to go and like I said I will probably end up returning on q regular basis.

Came here on Friday at 5pm for after work food and drinks before going to the theatre. Have to say,…read moreRevolution never lets me down, and on this occasion, it didn't again, but I do have a word of warning when booking into this place: tell them where you wish to sit! The staff booked me into a booth seating area, which was very thoughtful, but it was so loud I couldn't hear my Mum and Sister speak, so we pretty much ate in silence, with a bit of shouting to each other thrown in. I did ask to move - but there were hen parties etc booked in for other areas... ah well. Least they tried! Anyway, the rant side over. I experience the new menu and it's definitley worth checking out. Prices seem a little higher than before, but there is so much choice. A lot more 'restaurant' style dishes on the menu rather than pub grub/bar snacks. I opted for lobster ravioli (see, told you much more improved!) and my Mum went for fish and chips, which was huge! My portion size was large too - an improvement from the fancy Italian places I usually go to, and get a plate of 5 ravioli pieces. So well done rev's! Service was slow but I'll let them off as it was Friday evening. Cocktails were 2for 1 - which was brill - and they have some fab new additions, along with sharing jugs. A great place to go for affordable, good quality food and drinks. New menu has set them up to look a little more classier, which is a good sign! Just avoid Friday from 5pm if you want to have a non-rowdy chat...

The repair and restoration of the building, inside and out, is still a work in progress but there are lots of stunning original features throughout, not to mention its layout of corridors and random doorways means you uncover its character bit-by-bit. To aid the on-going fund raising, the Baths have regular events held within the walls - one of the biggest in recent years is Indy Man Beer Con (http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/indy-man-beer-con-manchester) which utilises much of the space brilliantly (where else can you sup a large range of beers whilst sat in large, empty swimming pools?). For the first time this year I also went to The Vintage Home Show which saw the building crammed full of retro furniture, home ware and clothing. They regularly hold 'Getting to Know VB' tours and participate in heritage open days, so check out their website for upcoming events, it's a beautiful place and needs every penny to bring it back to its full splendour.

It is one of the nicer, older buildings in the city being built in the mid-1800s and in many ways is your typical victorian building. It has been refurbished of late and the town hall now has a small Post Office in the annexe - it is also well located being right next to Manchester Central Library and part of it is also in St Peter's Square, which is one of the main stops on the city's light railway transport, Metrolink. It is still used today for various reasons other than the Post Office, it also is a small base for the police and it can sometimes be used for voting counting in elections, more notably the 2016 EU referendum where the United Kingdom voted by majority to leave the European Union. The guide of finding key areas of the town hall could perhaps be displayed better, especially when approaching it from Albert Square and St Peter's Square, being quite large it does stretch across both. A really nice old building in the city with some use today - as far as town halls go this is pretty cool. 4*

This place is relatively large and has a pleasant round room in the back where you can both sit propped up in a big leather chair or soft dining chairs. You can silently monitor the daily football game. There is of course a more pub-like bar at the other end of the restaurant whitch is quite popular and therefore crowded. The menu is not much, but the house is famous for their Derbyshire pig / lamb with vegetables and pie. And there is plenty of food. If you are very hungry can I recommend the chicken and curry soup. There are four different pudding dessert and in spite of it being served with sour cream, it is quite a mouthful. The sour rows not enough sweet and becomes too oppressive already halfway. But certainly fun to taste. Good luck!

The bistro menu looked delicious but the food was disappointing. Over cooked steak and duck and the accompanying veg was minuscule. The rabbit pie was delicious with too much mash on the side.
