It's a great store, with a very nice longtime owner, a helpful and friendly staff, and it has a relaxed atmosphere. MSJ is in a good neighborhood for lunch. They avoid all the mistakes that many other record stores make. I am speaking, of course of snotty, snobby, easily triggered owners/salespeople, or racks of lps too jammed or unpriced "bring to the counter for price"albums, etc. The records here are priced clearly and fairly, in my opinion*. *If you haven't shopped for records in recent years.. the demand for records has gone up drastically in recent years, and prices have gone up accordingly everywhere. You will not find 2008 (or 1974) prices on records in 2025. Especially on original pressings of the big classic rock albums by the top bands still played on the radio. I feel these guys are pretty fair, especially if you compare shopping at a store vs. shopping online, where you have to pay extra for shipping and really have nothing more than a vague hope that the LP will arrive in the stated condition. That aside. and back to the review... The more expensive items have sealed flaps, but you can open and inspect the vinyl at the counter. Less expensive records can be inspected at the rack if you do so carefully (i.e., not accidentally flinging the record across the store or getting yer greasy fingerprints 'em). Note: Record swapping will get you banned, you delinquents ;) - so don't be that person. Also, drinks are a no-no for understandable reasons. MSJ has tons of great vinyl in vg'+ or better condish. Rock is broken down alphabetically in various sections by price: $10 and up, $5, etc. There are boxes underneath these lp racks, but they request you get an employees help to access them. I never have time to crate dig, but I aspire to one day. I pick up a lot of records each visit, with very few exceptions (over 30 yrs) the albums and cds I've purchased have always been in VG+ or better, clean, etc. I have often traded in albums for store credit, and they are reasonable if you bring in decent records in nice condition that are not super common. I can't speak to how well they cover other genres since I mostly concentrate on rock - but there's a good amount of other stuff to peruse. If you go, I hope you find that gem you are looking for!

I mainly shopped at the store in Stroudsburg out of the 4 locations that I knew of. Stroudsburg, Stroud Mall, Tannersville, and last Brodheadsville. I was trying to sell a ring that I purchased from the Stroudsburg location. I was eventually told to try the Brodheadsville location. I took the ring there. I didn't check with them for a while, waiting for a call. However, one day I drove up to the store and store was empty. I tried to call and the phone rang of the hook. I went back Tannersville, Stroudsburg as well, they all closed down. I was shock! No forwarding address or phone number. I was surprisingly disappointed. I use to take pictures in Sammy's upstairs gallery, with all the vintage ships, art work, Greek sculptures, etc... I'm sure Sammy wasn't aware of the transaction that accrued. I feel very ripped off!

They installed new washer and dryer and took away old washer and dryer. They were wonderful!!!!!!! My new washer and dryer are fabulous. A WHIRLPOOL SERVICE COMPANY showed up yesterday September 24th 2025 and fixed the washers at NO COST TO HIM. So, much for sales and service from HomeTown, they just wanted to sell him another washer for another $593.59 screwing the 90 year old gentlemen.

Great place my 1 year old was able to go around and interact with all musical thing and make as…read moremuch noise as she wanted there which then wore her out so she had a great nap afterwards! But she also interacted with all the other kids and as a parent your encouraged to interact with the music and if your with the music so will your child! She loved it I thought it was fun and it was a clean open area with nothing she could get herself into trouble with which is hard since children somehow always find the things they shouldn't play with. Also the teacher Ms. Adriana did such a great job including kids with a hello song to grab their attention and get them hyped to do music and a goodbye song to help wind them down. With every song they have a prop to play with and put their hands on if any child puts items in their mouth they have a wet box where the toys then get thoroughly sanitized to prevent the spread of germs but in the couple of times I have gone there there have not been any sick kids but better that they play it safe! I highly recommend this activity to your energetic little one I've seen kids between 6 months to 4 years there and I'm sure you could start earlier or bring an even bigger kid in. The entire thing takes between 45 and 1hr highly recommend you come down and give it a try!

He vends at the hometown market and has a lot of cool stuff- I had expected him to at least have a stand but I didn't see him vending or his area. He hyped this market place beyond belief and I was really excited to head out here. It was certainly not worth the hour + it took me to drive out there. There were around 20 stores or so and the only worthwhile stand was the main front stand. The other stand I wanted to see was closed because the owner was "at lunch". It was a very disappointing anticlimactic experience. I felt really tricked. It would be fine if you weren't expecting much, or just expecting reality. I was led to believe there were a lot of vendors. I did not eat at the cafe and I was eager to leave after such a major disappointment. There is some stuff to see but most I wasn't interested in. Rumor has it there's a new owner here and he's cleaned up the place. An existing vendor told me the place used to be huge. Maybe it will improve but I'm not planning to head back.
